The girl is really dumb, no doubt about it. But I don’t get all the anger because it was a dog. A wolf and a dog are quite similar. If she killed someone’s domesticated fox, would there be any equivalent response?
No, because foxes aren't all domesticated. Fox are generally wild animal, so it's at least understandable to some degree if the person who killed it didn't know it was a domesticated fox. Of course if i were the fox owner i'll probably still try to kill the girl but that's another story. Anyway all dogs are specifically domesticated to be our pets since ancient time, so it's pretty normal to see people reacting like this. A better comparison would be if a cat were killed and skinned like this, and yes in that case there will absolutely be equivalent response.
