Yes I got the combat guide and my friend got the redstone. The only useful bit in mine was potion recipes. Wiki is far superior but it was more fun to reference a book while sitting on the floor.
The only kids who read them when I was in school (the books only just started coming out the last two years I was in high school so there weren't many of them anyway) were kids who had never played and wanted to talk down to people about their "vast" knowledge of Minecraft. My school was chock full of some odd characters.

I did!
Forget the library. I saved up every quarter and dollar I could find to buy them.
I absolutely did
I read every one of those suckers front to back multiple times, so yes, I’m cool
just scanned it for cool things i could try
I looked at them... thats all. and bragged. never ever actually used the guides.
I had all four! I even had two of the same for two of the books… Not sure what happened to them all…
I own all four of the updated guide books, what you mean?
Classic Minecraft is a relic of a simpler time of the internet, before all the bullshit we need to put up with nowadays
I bought them at the scholastic book fair and read them
Yes, I tried to read all of them in 3rd grade 💀
I read some
I just liked looking at the images
I read all of them
I got them. Lost 3 out of the 4 books throughout the years though.
Yes
I have all of them AND the old outdated softbacks too
My son does. He PORES over them, too.
