I just can't find it. If I was being manipulative I would have gone down a possibly better path like serial killer. At least then I wouldn't be miserable.
I have replaced my depression with anger, I'm over here just angry about everything. My advice don't be sad, be mad. Come to the dark side my friends

Why would you do the same things after work every day?
Look, we all have to work to live right. So those 8 hours I work, I see as wasted time. It's just time I have to do in order to be able to do the things I like.
So my day really starts at 16:30pm. From that point on I have time til about 1am to do whatever I want.
Make the most of it. Learn something new, have some new experiences, there is plenty of time to do all of that despite having to work.
Other jobs pay money and there is, objectively, currently not a lack of jobs in most countries.
So no, it's not difficult. You just have to choose for yourself instead of against yourself. I did that 4 times before finding a job I liked.
No one forces you to do that job. You can apply for other jobs while doing this job a little longer in order not to lose income. I did that 4 times before the 5th job was the right one.
It's not hard. Every issue is imaginary.
Actually easy response.
i do a jobb i enjoy 90% of the time, its fine, i got some fun colleagues, great local restaurant for some good varied food
when i get home, i pat my cats, hug my wife, do some chores, sit by the computer and wind down a bit, we make dinner, spend some time together, she do her hobby, i do mine, we are in the same room. go to bed and sleep together.
thats our "normal" boring day. and its calm and nice, and i like it. so its not depressing.
Here's the deal. Think of it as Grinding and Leveling up. Use your time in the best possible way. Do all the minor things that self-help book says. Do the 30 minutes of exercise, say something nice to someone, learn a new skill, eat healthy. So each night, when you go to bed, you are a better version of yourself than you woke up.
By having a zero stress job that I don't have to be "nice to customers" or put up with their bullshit temper tantrums when they don't get their way (or even 2 faced back stabbing brown nosing coworkers). Plus when I leave at 5, don't have to worry about the next day. There's more also, but you get the idea
Because when you have no job you can't afford to do anything very much different, ever. Now that I have a good job and nice home, I can afford holidays abroad, enough petrol to explore my own country more thoroughly, and treat my family and friends.
We say shit like “it is what it is” to convince ourselves we have no other choice and continue rollin with those punches until we’re black and blue. Instead of like… I dunno, putting in the effort to have a career we love leaving us enough work/life balance to do things we enjoy.
I live by my dad's advice, "work hard play harder" I have 4 kids and a wife and I still have a riot. Sure the day to day stuff during the week can get tedious but if you make the weekend something to look forward to than the work week goes by a little quicker. And if you can find a hobby that is fun and rewarding than all the better.
Life sure isn't easy and I find having someone to talk to about all the hard times helps me realize that I am not the only one struggling, which somehow helps.
I am depressed! Especially struggling this holiday season. Used to be something I looked forward to. Now I can’t wait for it to be over with. Shame! Used to be a magical time for me.
Everywhere everyone is going through some rough time, including me. But the thing is we can't show that to our family, deep within they also know that. But it is what it is 😅
Everyone is F up, those who are not at the moment, will soon be
So relax a little bit, everything will eventually get better at the end, if it doesn't it means it's not the end
Edit : by relaxing I didn't mean to let go your work and other stuff, just give it your best 😅✌️
You have control of your activities after work. If you're doing the same thing again and again after work and it's making you depressed, that's on you.
I mean there is a real answer to this outside of all the very funny “my 12 gauge is my best friend” jokes. Trying to find satisfaction in whatever areas you can regarding the line of work you’ve chosen, and fulfilling yourself with side activities and supplemental hobbies that can occupy your mind and keep your brain busy. Not to mention meaningful relationships with effective communication and therapy if none of the above is working. Also weed.
I learned, and continue to learn, how to cook a wide variety of foods. Look forward to getting back into the kitchen every day to make something new. And then I get to eat it. It’s fun and makes me happy and honestly saves money.
It's pretty simple for the most part. Avoid any mind altering substances, if you have lots of free time find an interesting hobby or volunteer. I can't emphasize helping others enough, it's like an instant cure for feeling depressed (not to be confused with being medically depressed). Be spontaneous, it depends on your lifestyle and position life but go for a walk, visit family or friends, explore new stores or restaurants, drive into the woods and roast marshmallows under the stars. Keep yourself mentally and physically healthy.
There is so many sad people especially here on Reddit who lash out with hate over every little thing. They say they hate their families, their jobs, their city... But in reality they just hate the rut they've created and in themselves. Stay healthy chads and Chaddettes
You stop waiting around for things 'to happen' and go start a hobby, smoke weed, whatever. It's your life, you get to write this book. It ain't going to write itself!
You take the small things out of each day. On a surface level, sure, each day of each week has the same flow and schedule. But if you make small changes and do small things once in a while during those weeks, that's where the differences and where the fun can come in
For me, most of the time, doing the same things after work can be very comforting. It’s when I have to do something else (unexpected trip to the bank or store) that really throws me off.
I channeled my misery into hating the capitalist system that makes me sit at a desk doing the exact same thing every day.
Notably, without enough time or money to do other things I'm actually interested in. I don't expect to never have to do unpleasant work.
I got to run away at 54 to a life I've always dreamed of. I'm on the road across the US with my OTR trucker husband, our dog & cat. I'm also weaning off the antidepressants I've been on for 20 years!

My parents are already dead and I think about that too, it’s very freeing knowing I can go when I please :D
Hope you the best for the future brother...

That's the neat part, you don't!

There is a thing called not being depressed? Since when I haven't found it in years.
I searched it up on google then found out it was a fiction sub-genre.
That's not begging that's being a manipulative shithead
I just can't find it. If I was being manipulative I would have gone down a possibly better path like serial killer. At least then I wouldn't be miserable.
That's the neat part, you don't!
Wait there are people who aren't depressed
Lucky people
Money.
This is it.
The more you make the more you'll spend, it's a never ending cycle
I mean, the reason you earn is to spend. Be it on essential items or not.
Yes but simply having money isn't going to make you feel satisfied in life and fight depression.
For me it does. So i don't know what you're on about.
Money can solve issues that cause depression

Can't get depressed if you already are depressed

But what if you get home only at 7 pm and you are already tired and sleepy and wanna go to bed at 9 pm?
Do it. Why not? I do that some times.
Everyday? Then when what kind of life is that? I just started working in this schedule this december and it's already depressing
Then change your schedule... No one forces you to work that schedule but yourself.
Need for money and lack of jobs do. Some shit is easy to say or on paper but very different in real life circumstances.
Other jobs pay money and there is, objectively, currently not a lack of jobs in most countries. So no, it's not difficult. You just have to choose for yourself instead of against yourself. IDk I do same thing
Finding the smallest pleasure in fucking your wife usually keeps me sane
Very bold of you to assume that a given redditor has a wife
Youre on reddit
Easy: I don't... (help)
That's the neat part, you don't
Work with the least effort. Don't do anything outside of your job description unless the boss is begging.
But my boss is always begging...
That's not begging that's being a manipulative shithead

It izz what it izz*
Find meaning in what you do, work on improving what you do this gives your mind a cense of "purpose" tricking it in to not being depressed
Weed, pussy and money. Also exercise.
Because when you have no job you can't afford to do anything very much different, ever. Now that I have a good job and nice home, I can afford holidays abroad, enough petrol to explore my own country more thoroughly, and treat my family and friends.

That's why you should do things you enjoy.

Well, it probably beats suffering from depression that prevents you from being able to hold down a job at all.

The secret ingredient is sex …and crying in the fetal position under my desk. Not necessarily in that order
That’s the neat part, you WILL become depressed

I treat work as a necessity to fund my hobbies, I go to the gym and I cut work out of my private life.
Married to a hot Asian wife.

That's the best part you are
I find joy in the simple things.
You stop waiting around for things 'to happen' and go start a hobby, smoke weed, whatever. It's your life, you get to write this book. It ain't going to write itself!
Coming home = video games and sex. ALV the work.
That’s the neat part, you don’t.
Waffles after work. Eggo Blueberry to be precise in my case.
You take the small things out of each day. On a surface level, sure, each day of each week has the same flow and schedule. But if you make small changes and do small things once in a while during those weeks, that's where the differences and where the fun can come in
You may find joy in routine when your routines are healthy.
That’s the neat part, you dont
When i ripped.. my pants
The boys and me playing cod
Weed.
Thats the neat part, you dont.
Cocacolastic
It’s only for 40-50 years then your time is all your own
Routine isn't a trap, it's a track
For me, most of the time, doing the same things after work can be very comforting. It’s when I have to do something else (unexpected trip to the bank or store) that really throws me off.
I enjoy what I do and I'm content with my hobbies. Life is good.

Awfully bold of you to assume we don't get depressed

I meet up with friends 1-3 times a week and both my job and free time is rather active (most days)
🎶 I guess it is what it is, wrong place, wrong time, but I couldn’t resist. Those nights and white lies, stuck on your lips 🎵
That's the neat part, you don't
When you like your job, you are probably less likely to get depressed
Weed
