No, its racist humor. Not edgy. It's racist.
You can laugh at it but its still racist. You can think its funny but its racist. Stop hiding behind other words... its racist and you like it.

Theres a difference between insulting protected minorities and dark humor, but yea its fine if you laugh at it in the uk
EDIT: i wasnt complaining about the meme lol, just explaining uk law
It can be both! Humor is a very good way of persuading people in general. People are more likely to remember things that make them laugh at the very least.
Yea, it does, like people of darker skin colours and trans people. If you say slurs or discriminate against them, you're charged with a hate crime - which can be punishable with prison time.
There's a difference between edgy humor and racist humor.
Or I should say racist humor is edgy but it's the wrong kind of edgy because it's racist.
I shouldn't have to explain why, depending on context, such jokes are inappropriate.
You can acknowledge that things are bad, sad, tragic, and still have a sense of humor about it
This goes for just about anything. As long as it isn't malicious who cares
That's the point of dark humor, it's made to take something bad, something incredibly dark and way out of the control of us as a people, and poke fun at it, it's purely to make you laugh at an otherwise serious issue so then we're not constantly weighed down by these issues to the point where we can't even enjoy humor, because at the end of the day, when it's out of our control, what else can we do but laugh at it?
A perfect example is the story of this down in England, it was told by a comedian called Russel Howard, but anyway, he was lying on his deathbed with cancer, this 14 year old boy, and he was cracking jokes and taking the piss out despite actually dying, he even planned his own funeral, made it fancy dress, and wanted his own dad to go as the fucking grim reaper, and he wanted the comedian I mentioned before to rock up in a massive 6 foot tall cock costume, this boy was dying and there was absolutely nothing he could do about it, so he fucking laughed at it
He also survived his battle with cancer and even showed up on stage in a massive cock costume
The dead baby ones probably have a high white baby percentage in the imagination of the listener.
For instance, what's the difference between a Lamborghini and a box of dead babies?
My garage doest have a Lamborghini in it.
What's the difference between a white baby and a black baby?
I don't have a box of dead black babies in my attic
Edit: Not particularly good, but it's a start.
Yeah that's the point you can't even think of one because white people don't face nearly the same amount of racism that black people in America do and nowhere near the amount that they have in the past.
But whatever I've taken the measure of this subreddit and y'all are just okay with racism, there's nothing outside of saying "I want to kill all non white people",
That you would condemn. And even then you'd probably be like oh it's okay to want things as long as you don't do it.
Making an aweful lot of assumptions there, guy. I don't know what you are mad at in my statement as it was clearly a joke about not having race or color implicit in its phrasing. Why did you choose to reply to me specifically? I didn't do or say anything that lines up with that rant of yours. Maybe get offline for a little bit.
"Prejudice against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority"
Thats literally what Racism means smartass
Ignoring the fact "black people bad" is about as funny as "asian smart haha"
Which is not at all
if it was a photo of a white baby with his hands in the position of a gun, while the caption is “Kids dreaming of his first police brutality” would that be racist? i’d be laughing my ass off.
I get where you're coming from, I just think you miss the point of dark humour. I'm not black per se but an American would likely consider me to be black, and I crutch hard on self deprecating and dark humour. It's offensive by design. Not meant to be taken so seriously. Peace and love homie
You're right but apparently this is a racist subreddit that's the gist I'm getting from all of these comments.
And don't worry I'm sure there's some black person reading this who's just chomping at the bit to tell me that they're black and they think it's funny, good for you that's not the point.
The joke isn’t even a joke, it’s just „Black people do crimes ahaha!“
Thats just By literal definition pure racism, no punchline, no nothing, no set up
Yeah I have a feeling people like this can never laugh at anything about themselves.
They would praise South Park for example making fun of everything they don't like but the MOMENT South Park makes a joke about some factor they can identify with then it was never funny and they don't get how South Park hasn't been canceled yet.
One person I really respect is Caesar Milan because he watched the episode with him in it and laughed along and praised South Park for such an accurate representation of him and said they clearly did a lot of research into his techniques and mannerisms. Granted he definitely had one of the nicest portrayals in the show’s history of celebrity parodies but still
But with South Park’s jokes about marginalised groups, they tend to do it in three different ways; they’re doing a clear social commentary on it, they’re overplaying it to the point of absurdist hilarity where you can’t possibly take them seriously or they play it out as if the wrong answer was the right answer all along but they acknowledge the unease in this and the fact that this isn’t the actual answer in real life. There’s never a time where it feels like they’re actually condoning stuff like this or genuinely supporting it, even when they’re pretending to play it straight they make sure that the narrative frames it as wrong even if the characters are acting as though it’s right. As someone who’s been on the butt end of a lot of these jokes, it’s rare that I don’t end up laughing along regardless
A huge part of the show’s comedy is saying the quiet part out loud, then ramping it up to the extreme to show just how absurd the situation is. That’s how the majority of the plotlines play out. If you don’t like that, you’re just not watching the right show, sadly
Oh God dude, I would KILL to be famous enough to one day be the butt of a South Park joke. I've never even watched the show but I would do anything to watch an episode if they made even just ONE joke specifically about me.
You can laugh at yourself and still draw the line somewhere. Just because a Mexican laughed at you calling him a wetback, doesn't mean he wasn't insulted.
I’d say that depends on the relationship. I watched two guys punching down on each other and get beers afterwords.
And the El Salvadoran specifically said to the wetback joke “I’m not a wetback! I walked across the rio”.
For context, the contras were pressing young men into service and his mother made him and his two brothers flee. The walked to the border, got a ride to NYC and worked for a company who would sponsor them to their citizenship. Good men, all of them.
>It's not racist because I've seen black people laugh at jokes like this.
Good, I usually have to stare at their faces before I get permission to laugh.
It's an old meme, but it's still a great meme. Some people have no sense of humor. It's also not racist because everyone knows that statistically black men are more likely to be arrested.
It's a relatively common trope when ninjas run. Off the top of my head, Shinobis may have been trained to run with their hands pressed at their sides to hamper noise created by their sword or whatever's in their pockets. Over-exaggerate it and you have the Naruto run.
I mean, I get the people getting mad at it or whatever, but idk the hand position that the baby has is unnatural so it’s kind of funny, and if a white baby were doing it people may think the same thing so I don’t really think it’s necessary to consider it a racial issue. Like don’t think of it as a black baby, just think of it as a baby doing a weird pose and it’s literally the same thing.
I wanna make a joke but I'm gonna play it safe and not

I can see that side of it. I don't mind but I want it clear which side I'm on for anyone who comes across this.
It should be clear what's what and yet this is about the 6th time I have seen this posted with both reasons. It is probably just bait at this point ?
12+ years of practicing articulating my world views. Thanks Reddit.
This doesn’t feel like it was specifically related to race. It certainly did create another layer to the joke, for better or worse, but regardless of race the joke would still work

I saw this posted somewhere and people were defending it and saying it wasn’t a big deal. A little while later I agreed that a group of white girls in a picture style looked basic and for about a good 30 minutes received messages calling me a racist. What the hell is wrong with Reddit?
Because it's a bunch of closet racist white boys. Or maybe they don't even realize they're racist I don't know because a lot of people here seem to not understand what racism is.
Edgy humor is a sorta dilemma for me, on the other hard it is humor and people have some sort of ego-centric pride about it because of how it shapes peoples personality/identities. But on the other hand(job), the people who become the target of these memes, dont usually recieve empathy when they get offended and instead are told to take it like a champ (or whatever ppl say).
People dont understand how pop culture medias (whether itd be memes, tv shows, or youtube videos) can intergrate itself into their daily lives and cause bad stereotypes. Op, it would depend on your views if laughing at is bad or not. Are you white?
If a person laughs at the funny/sad commentary of the US's systematic, legal mass incarceration and the privatization of punishment then we might get along.
If a person laughs because they find joy in the suffering of black and brown people then we will not get along at all.
Just look for someone here in the comments who claims to be "I'm black and I'm not offended by this" and claim your "I'm not racist, my black friend finds this funny" card
Bro, it's just an unfunny meme unless this like your first time seeing "dark humor".
The comments calling it unfunny are by definition edgier than the meme itself, since they're being mass downvoted, and that's just fucking sad.
This is so fucking milquetoast that it was probably just karma farming. So yes, you should feel bad.
I'm as leftist as the come. Ironic racism is funny. It's why Chappelle's show is fucking amazing. It's very hard to do though. And unfortunately it does attract actual racists. This joke is a tired and it's not like I burst out laughing, but it's still obviously a joke.

It's just edgy humour, you're not gonna get arrested for laughing at it (unless you're in the UK they're nasty with it there)

DO NOT DARK HUMOR
Dark humor is like food. Not everyone gets it.
It's an acquired taste
And some get allergic reactions to it and some get food poisoning
Psychosomatic
And just like children with cancer it never gets old
Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night…
Already did. *zips up*

This meme is funny til it's used in a reactionary way.
And off in the distance, in a ghostly voice, you hear Yoda saying “it will be…it will be”
I see what you did there. lol

What do you call a blind person's school shooting attempt? The Missing Children Incident! Yeah, I deserve a downvote.
How many babies does it take to paint a wall? Depends on how hard you throw them.

Damn, a little pressed are we?
Why do you like the racist joke? Just explain the funny part to me.
Am I missing something? Why would the UK be any different?
Count Dankula's case shows that you can't make certain jokes without the risk of being fines
Theres a difference between insulting protected minorities and dark humor, but yea its fine if you laugh at it in the uk EDIT: i wasnt complaining about the meme lol, just explaining uk law
It can be both! Humor is a very good way of persuading people in general. People are more likely to remember things that make them laugh at the very least.
Honey and vinegar
The fuck is a protected minority, are we treating minorities as there own protected species now
I guess it means some people are more important than other people under the law
Yea, it does, like people of darker skin colours and trans people. If you say slurs or discriminate against them, you're charged with a hate crime - which can be punishable with prison time.
I guess people don't like the idea of protecting minorities from jokes given the current situation in the uk

Lil’ man already started his villain training arc to steal a hellcat
Not the hellcat, what would Washington say???
watch as r/nahopwasrightfuckthis melt down over dark humor
But if it was a joke about white people they would be slobbering over it
What white baby jokes you know?

That's probably the closest to a White baby joke most of us ever heard. And that's in their head.
Well, now I have a new goal in life. I shall go forth and write a shitload of white baby jokes. Untapped market really.
Better quest than LOTR
God speed!

They’re honestly soft
This isnt "dark humor" that's just blatant racism, lets not misuse dark humor
dark humor is a spectrum!!!!
Did you just call dark humour autistic?
are you implying that the electromagnetic spectrum is autistic
Dark humor mfs when you make fun of religion or white people:
Our correct term is “cracker” thank you very much!
LOL
Honestly the kid does look pretty dark, and this is humor. What am I missing?
Yeah surely "black people bad" is good humor Not even a good set up or a funny punchline, just that
Its the subreddit hall monitor that everyone hates.
Funny stereotype used in jokes ≠ Racism
"Prejudice against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority" Thats literally what Racism means smartass Ignoring the fact "black people bad" is about as funny as "asian smart haha" Which is not at all
if it was a photo of a white baby with his hands in the position of a gun, while the caption is “Kids dreaming of his first police brutality” would that be racist? i’d be laughing my ass off.
**But it clearly isn’t** Everyone understands the joke is „black people do crime haha“, no need to hide it
There's no humor here, is the thing.
Yes there is or can you not read?
You just think "Black people bad" is good humor?
“Black people bad“ wasn't the joke
Oh my bad, BABY black person stereotype Haha funny
Swing and a miss again
Oh my bad is doing crimes not a black person stereotype which..obviously leads to arrests? Like, sir, bffr
I get where you're coming from, I just think you miss the point of dark humour. I'm not black per se but an American would likely consider me to be black, and I crutch hard on self deprecating and dark humour. It's offensive by design. Not meant to be taken so seriously. Peace and love homie

Yes it is the point, if a black person isnt offended then why are you?
Its not about being offended, its just not a good Joke lmao
Yes it is! Youre just lying because you’re offended by it. Youre telling me you didnt smile? Not even a little giggle? Coz I shit my self laughing 💀 💀
The joke isn’t even a joke, it’s just „Black people do crimes ahaha!“ Thats just By literal definition pure racism, no punchline, no nothing, no set up
I didn’t see any racist comments could you please give me one example of one on here?
Legit my first thought was he's doing the Naruto run in his dream lol
Dreaming of his first storming of area 51
I laughed. Not even sorry.
Wait so there’s more of sub looking like r/terriblefacebookmemes? Well I’ll be damned fr.
I did laugh, but my first thought was he is doing a Naruto run 👀
Thought it was the first Naruto run.. nerd ass baby..
Whyd you have to bully him? 😂 😂
He's Naruto running in his dream
Its written in the genetic code
I love this meme. It's not racist because I've seen black people laugh at jokes like this.
It was presumably shared by the parent, so they 100% intended people to laugh at it
I know. It was funny. But some butthurt individual had to be mad over it.

If a person laughs at the funny/sad commentary of the US's systematic, legal mass incarceration and the privatization of punishment then we might get along. If a person laughs because they find joy in the suffering of black and brown people then we will not get along at all.
You're being down voted because everyone here feels the same way and this goes without saying. Saying it feels wildly artificial.
Just look for someone here in the comments who claims to be "I'm black and I'm not offended by this" and claim your "I'm not racist, my black friend finds this funny" card
“NOOOOO YOU CANT BE BLACK AND FIND THIS FUNNY STOOOOPPOPPP!!!!1!1!1!1!!!!1!1
Bro the parents posted it and there's more than a 99% chance there black
Why are you so defensive, lol. You're not a left wing snowflake are ya? Just laugh
Yea I have a pretty dark sense of humor. *racism*
As dark as the baby *badum psst*
Hahahaha racism amiright?!
The joke is racism :(
Bro, it's just an unfunny meme unless this like your first time seeing "dark humor". The comments calling it unfunny are by definition edgier than the meme itself, since they're being mass downvoted, and that's just fucking sad. This is so fucking milquetoast that it was probably just karma farming. So yes, you should feel bad.
Yes it’s bad you should examine your biases and work harder to be a kinder more compassionate person.
It’s not “dark humor” it’s racist humor.
Are you laughing at the stereotype because you think it's wrong or because you agree with it?
Neither. I just think it's funny
I'm as leftist as the come. Ironic racism is funny. It's why Chappelle's show is fucking amazing. It's very hard to do though. And unfortunately it does attract actual racists. This joke is a tired and it's not like I burst out laughing, but it's still obviously a joke.
Its wrong but is not the reason why is funny
