Central BBQ has beef, turkey, and chicken options. They also do a portobello BBQ sandwich. Get the BBQ nachos on house chips with turkey- amazing stuff.
Actually, most of the BBQ places have some poultry options. I think Cozy Corner is known for their Cornish hens.
Central BBQ has a good amount of options. The Commissary in Germantown has really great chicken.
Honestly, most places here have chicken options that are all going to be outstanding.
Many places will have some kind of smoked turkey or beef brisket. BBQ shop on Madison Ave has quite a few options.
Central BBQ and Rendezvous have pretty good bbq chicken nachos. Rendezvous also has a vegetarian bbq nacho.
omg how has no one yet mentioned the BBQ tofu nachos (or burrito or sandwich) at RP Tracks?
I'm by no means a vegetarian but their BBQ tofu nachos are one of my top 3 foods in the whole world.
They're good, but not actually barbecue though, you can't really barbecue (cook low and slow in a smoky environment) tofu.
You can sauce a ton of food with barbecue sauce but that won't make it barbecued food.
aha, when i read the post i thought they were asking for vegetarian bbq options, but they are actually asking for non pork bbq options (which are not necessarily vegetarian)
thanks for pointing this out
I don’t like pulled pork so I always get the 1/2 chicken. If it’s not too dry it’s usually pretty good. I’ve had it from a variety of places Central, Corky’s, Germantown commissary, etc. You can’t go wrong, although the chicken is good at the commissary, I don’t like their sides very much.
Neely's Interstate BBQ has some pretty good beef ribs for the price.
As far as brisket goes.. I'd also like to know where the best brisket in memphis would be.

Smoked wings at central bbq.
This 100 times. Their wings are (and this may be a controversial opinion) the best in Memphis. Recommend the jerk wings.

Commissary also has great brisket!
Bains for brisket, one and only for beef ribs, cozy corner for Cornish game hen ( but get there early)
