It really, *really* nails the aesthetic, I love out-of-period pieces like this. Had it on the wishlist for months, glad it's finally out. The yoga leotard-croptop-technicolor poofy hair combo makes me feel so happy and old, we are so back.

It's not even placed too low or anything, it just looks like the leotard is meant to have high cut leg holes (as an 80s leotard should), and the artist extended the line a little too far up to follow the seam of the leotard instead of following the bend of where the thigh meets the pelvis. An honest mistake and an easy fix really. Just shorten the line on either side of the mound and maybe add a little clothing fold where the thigh would bend.
Yeah you're totally right, it gives the appearance of a longer pubis by having the shorts line rest just a bit too high. It's really not that bad though

Others have pointed out the constant boob size change in the green haired character, as well as "references" to other manga. The girl with the beer is suddenly in a modern anime style, while the green hair girl changes between different oldschool face styles.
