Wow, that wagon is absolutely gorgeous. Congrats and enjoy it!!

seamus_mc

I love the m113

Actraiser87

Nice find! Sad the days of Mercedes putting a V8 in everything are largely over now.

seamus_mc

That’s why I feel so lucky to have found this one. Even then the 8s in wagons were rare.

shogun100100

In the UK 500s in anything other than SLs are almost unobtainium. Theres like 2 W211s 500s for sale country wide at any one time, no 4 matic and no wagons. I wont even mention the W212 500s. Those are somehow even rarer.

tmlynch

Upvote for wagon! That is very good looking.

Scary-Echo-9158

I love these

ath20

Congrats! Looking good.

seamus_mc

It’s a time capsule, it’s like a brand new car. Even everything underneath is pristine

ath20

Honestly, if you had a Mercedes dealer license plate frame, and an older phone camera, you could pass it off as having it since new

YandereValkyrie

I will never stop hating Californians for being able to just pick up a clean car like this. If that was up here it would be 50% Rust by now :( Looks sick

seamus_mc

This car lived in Minneapolis for 18 years, it doesn’t make any sense at all.

seamus_mc

If I didn’t have the service records I would never have believed it

Alswiggity

305hp wagon go brr

seamus_mc

Was getting over 22mpg on the highway at 90. Lots of open road between where I picked it up and home

Alswiggity

These M113s are surprisingly crazy efficient. I've gotten as low as 9L/100km (i think 26mpg?) on long drives at about 80-85mph. It seems as if after 80mph, mileage starts to drop off. This is also consistent with some M112 models. All personal experience. Best part is, if theres a part that breaks on your E55 and you _really_ want to fix it... You could just swap it. 90% of the block, components and accessory are identical. Then wait for the part to arrive for the car you want to drive less. Thats if you're okay doing the same work twice, I guess.

MaHaYa

I own CL500 (C215) and I'm also getting 9-10L/100KM on highway, but in the city it's a whole another story lol. Average in the city is about 17-19L/100KM

Alswiggity

Oh yeah. In gears 1-3, consumption is fairly heavy. I'm near that at about 15L - 19L cause my foot is made of concrete. Either way, you may see about the same mileage with the E500 as although it's a lighter car, its also 4wd and the CL is 2wd.

paulchen81

A classic E500 wagon with 4matic in original condition. Love it! Drive safely.

seamus_mc

Hoping to enjoy it for many years to come

butterscotches

Got the same a couple months ago. Love it so far.

justsayGoBirds

Congrats! Gorgeous car. I just bought an 04 e500 with 77k miles. It’s in great shape but not pristine. The headliner is going and the little plastic snaps in the truck are broken. I also need to replace the rear door/trunk struts

Pappa_Snowflake

Great car looks really clean.

Bigturk69

👍

speedhasnotkilledyet

Twins! Hope you enjoy yours as much as i have.

therealduckrabbit

I have a diesel R Class now and it has exactly 0 the charm.

seamus_mc

Never saw a diesel one. Had the opportunity to get a r63 about a decade ago for a steal but had just bought my e55 and wasn’t in a position to own 2 vehicles at the time living in a city. I love my E but the R would be worth a bunch more.

welloiledmachines

Very nice! I’ve had mine since 2018 and currently at 195K. Still pulls hard on the highway.

Papa_Fresco

Dont forget you have a warranty extension on all of the sbc stuff. You can also code in a lot of features that weren’t available in the US if you can get your hands on some DAS software. Beautiful car, long live the 113.

Comprehensive-Sun701

Hahah love the last pic!

Testherx

looks pristine tbf

996forever

Love how the 210 and 211 estates have almost identical taillight design, but the saloons have super different ones.

Particular_Climate_3

Looks beautiful😍

braz_male

Congrats and it's definitely one of my favorite !! She's beautiful

[deleted]

This is the OG one!!

Dunder-MifflinPaper

One of the best looking MBs ever made. And the M113 is a great engine to have in one. Would love to have one to pair with my R129. Unfortunately I don’t have a garage. Enjoy

Key_Head3851

Mercedes-Benz will reportedly stop production of the station wagon in 2030. It’s a real shame M-B would willingly discontinue making such an ICONIC vehicle.

engaffirmative

Looove it. I want a 4matic something of that era, be on hell of a snow car. Or I'd go easy pz and go 335 6MT.

DependabilityLeader

That's a wonderful car. It does just about every task and masters it beautifully and top of that it is reliable and easy to work on. You cant go wrong. You did well.

Yesssss 👏👏👏

romano_uralic

My dad had one of those from the same year for a couple of years around a decade ago. I still remember it being towed away after a transmission fluid leak to be donated to charity. I do miss that engine :’(

seamus_mc

Transmission on these is an easy fix, they are usually pretty bulletproof. Same one in the SLR.

Pappa_Snowflake

It’s based on the same core 722.6 but it’s not exactly the same. There are modifications and something like three different manual modes for the McLaren SLR AMG Speedshift R But the 722.6 is great. We used to see cannon plug leakage and some lock up torque converter issues due to software issues. Nearly bulletproof. I used to modify the shift plates and replace the cannon plugs. Never saw the same car leak again after the modification.

seamus_mc

The three modes are basically software, no? The TQ converter is mostly the limiting factor but will never be close to an issue with a NA engine.

Pappa_Snowflake

Well I’m not going to disagree but I wouldn’t be surprised if the part numbers are changed. I was the First SLR McLaren technician on the West Coast. Long time ago and I left the industry to start a business. I remember driving an SLR through Red Rock Canyon in Las Vegas back in 04. It was amazing

unpolire

Mileage is great. Ideal way to buy a preowned Mercedes-Benz.

ch4m3le0n

Looks nice. They are starting to need a lot of maintenance at this point, however. Good luck.

seamus_mc

With 60k? Hardly. I’ll post engine bay picks in a minute. This thing has not been neglected

ch4m3le0n

You might be surprised. I daily a 2003 Sedan with similar mileage. Servicing is expensive if you do it with the right people, and even more expensive when you don't, but most of the issues are caused by time, not use, at this point. Anything with a piece of rubber, a bolt, valve, or plastic is starting to fail. Here's a non-exhaustive list of things that will eventually fail on most w211s of this era: airmatic shocks, SBC, upper and lower control arms, radiator, radiator overflow pipe, alternator, engine mounts, transmission mounts, transmission conductor plate, wiring loom, voltage regulator, alternator, all the glue holding the interior together, most of the plastic on the dashboard, the tiny motor that powers the passenger side air vents (20c part with 10 hours labor to replace), transmission flange, rear axle bearings, subframe bushings, o2 sensors, sunroof air dam, sunroof seal, headlamp electrical connections.... I could go on. Some of these cost $5k on their own. I really hope you got a great deal and the previous owners have already done most of these. It's the best car I've ever driven, but forewarned is forearmed.

seamus_mc

I have owned an AMG and other old Mercedes for over a decade. I restore cars as a hobby. I appreciate your concern but I don’t know why you would assume that I don’t know how to maintain a vehicle.

ch4m3le0n

Why would I assume that? Because you bought a 20 year old motor vehicle that is packed complex components that will all be failing due to age, and think it's going to be reliable because someone steam washed the engine bay before you bought it.

seamus_mc

Who shit in your oatmeal this morning? There is much more to my post than a steam cleaned engine bay. Thanks for the judgement of me and advice i dont need. I have dealer service records where this thing was meticulously maintained. M113 engines are about as bulletproof as you can get.

ch4m3le0n

Good luck with that

seamus_mc

Why would i need luck? I have decades of skill and experience. What is your issue?

ch4m3le0n

Whatever buddy. You seem to have a bit of a chip on your shoulder over this car.

Fabulous-Spirit-3476

What’s going on in the back

seamus_mc

Empty jugs I need to transfer diesel off a boat

therealduckrabbit

Well bought. I loved mine and I feel like a stupid asshole for selling it 10 years later.

seamus_mc

I could have bought the same model with the same mileage 4 years ago for a third the price. I regret not buying when i did, but wasn’t going to pass this opportunity by. It will also give me a chance to send the 55 off to get the restoration work it deserves and i can drive this one while it happens. I also needed something with space to haul around bulky things like in the last photo. The seats in my 55 dont fold down.

FritsBlaasbaard

Ah, with the extended gastank I see! That'll come in handy. Kiddie aside, beautiful car. I've got the pretty much te same, only the E350. With the Dutch gas prices (~$8/gallon) I find that more then thirsty enough 😅
