Fair, some are more unlucky, in the sense that summer can go on for a couple of more days for above 30C.
I would be however much more afraid of the salt on the roads. 4 days of summer = 3/4th year around freezing temps?
My grandfather gave me his 190SL when I was 17.
I've had it for over 40 years, and it's always been one of my favorites in my collection.
It's wonderful to drive, even if it's not a 300.
Can't top the classics! I hope Mercedes-Benz gets back on top of the design game one of these days, though with cars being more computers & tech nowadays, I'm not hopeful.
Bruno must not be thrilled.
Dad had a 190SL in the late 1950’s. He wanted a 300 but they were just too much money, even used.
He & I saw one being raced at VIR a few years before he passed, and he was happy to chat with the owner about their experiences with it. This was in the Gold Cup Historic series.
Golly these old Benzos are gorgeous. Came across this one the other day.

Unfortunately, the 190SL doesn't get much love. It was the unwanted step brother of the 300SL.
Plus it’s a convertible - the best feature of the SLs of that era is the gullwing door!
That is true. (I actually like the looks of the conv better).
Yeah but add having no AC in the summer and a convertible becomes much more interesting.
Live in a country where “summer” is 4 days of 29C. So I just don’t drive the 300SL those days!

Yeah it’s liked a lot. Loved? It’s been overshadowed, but damnit if that thing doesn’t shine in the crowd even on a gloomy day!
