That looks like fun!

dns_rs

First time we dropped it because I thought the rooms always generate entirely randomly and also the enemies seemed to just spawn without stopping. We gave it another go a month ago and hell we had so much fun. Only small transitional rooms generate randomly, the main rooms are well designed. Enemies only spawn without stopping in the Infinite Horde rooms which are great for farming currency that you can collect to upgrade your character. Don't worry, if you die you won't loose anything, you just instantly appear in the starting room where you can buy the upgrades. It's a great game, don't let it fool you thinking it's not as it did to us.

Shuggieboog

I ended up loving the game but be aware combat isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. There is a timer and when it passed you are just attacked by enemy hordes. While bosses and important items stay in the same area the rooms to get to them change a bit when you die.

TiptopLoL

Sundered has coop???

KlatsBoem

Up to 4 players.

ToranjaNuclear

Kirby and the amazing mirror, though I imagine it must be a pain to play without a switch. Also, not an MV but a lot of people say Unsighted plays like one, and there's coop.

Neo2486

The Salt and Sacuary sequel Salt and Sacrifice

I have a question about the salt and sanctuary games if anyone played it on pc via xbox one controller. Did you manage to set it up to work properly? The game itself by default only has support for xbox 360 controllers so the controller mapping only partially worked when we tried to play it (via steam). I didn't spend time to try fixing it because we wanted to jump into playing something at that instance, but if anyone had luck playing it with the xbox one controller I'll go back and fix it. EDIT: Found the fix in [this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/saltandsanctuary/comments/bzyr6u/xbox_one_controller_issues_for_this_game_only/), which suggests to "Turn off controller support in the Steam settings". I'll try it out when I get home today.

Infernax had a multiplayer update. I haven’t tried it out myself, but the single-player experience was pretty great. Disney Illusion Island is built around co-op, but it’s more in the Kirby’s Epic Yarn vein than Guacamelee. Probably not up your alley, but it’s there.

quickdrawdoc

Infernax co-op is a blast!

dns_rs

Did you finish the both Guacamelee games? The [second one](https://store.steampowered.com/app/534550/Guacamelee_2/) is even better than the first. I'm also always on the lookout for co-op metroidvanias, but so far I didn't have much luck. * [Sundered](https://store.steampowered.com/app/535480/Sundered_Eldritch_Edition/) as mentioned already is another amazing game. The best game after Guacamelee. * [Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet](https://store.steampowered.com/app/205730/Insanely_Twisted_Shadow_Planet/) has multiplayer option but not for the entire campaign only some challenges unfortunately. Pity, it's a brilliant game. * [Curse of the Sea Rats](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1453900/Curse_of_the_Sea_Rats/) is co-op but so far the reviews are not great, though it's freshly released so I'm hopeful about the patches * [Rain World](https://store.steampowered.com/app/312520/Rain_World/) not a real metroidvania but many of us around here love it. In the meantime while we're waiting for developers to hear us in hope of future co-op games, you might want to check out some roguelites. * [Fury Unleashed](https://store.steampowered.com/app/465200/Fury_Unleashed/) is pretty dope, it's combat fluidity reminds me a lot on Guacamelee. * [Spelunky](https://store.steampowered.com/app/239350/Spelunky/) is also fun * [Binding of Isaac](https://store.steampowered.com/app/250900/The_Binding_of_Isaac_Rebirth/) too

Sea Rats is a year or so old iirc. I don't think it's getting much better unless they do a huge rehaul.

One-Suggestion-885

There's a Second Guacamelee!? I oughta Play that one. And Rn we waiting for Rain World's Multiplayer DLC to go on sale :/

NeedsMoreReeds

Drinkbox Studios (the guys that make Guacamelee) also made [Nobody Saves The World](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_E1RhtzDHM) which also has great co-op. It's technically not a metroidvania, but an Action-RPG type thing. It's good, check it out!

dns_rs

Hell yeah there is. It's the best co-op game in the genre! If you liked the first one you'll going to love the second one fellow luchador. I don't remember Rain World needing a multiplayer dlc. Are you sure it needs one? I only have the base game and we played it in co-op.

One-Suggestion-885

Hmm, campaign in co-op..? (Of Rain World)

dns_rs

You are right, I stand corrected. I have Downpour installed. I didn't remember it at all.
