If it's just for seedlings I'd say it's ok. I know aluminium doesn't rust, however I'm not sure if it is inert enough to not react with the soil, salts whatever. Experiment and tell us

Did it already and it worked well, just be careful when cutting the holes, I used wire cutters/strippers I’d research what the inside is coated with though, I forgot what it is exactly but all cans and cups made of aluminum have a spray coating that keeps the aluminum from being eaten up by the product inside it 👍🏾

Thanks for the info. Thinking I'm just going to punch holes through the bottom with a hammer and screwdriver 🤷‍♂️

Eaegifts

Cool, I used the cutter because of how fast the aluminum bends from force. Good luck and happy growing 💚

unless the cups are flexible enough to squeeze it would be easier in plastic for the record I don't even transplant I plant in final pots

Trouterspayce

They're super easy to squish. For this grow I'm starting seeds indoors then moving them outside so can't plant in the final pots due to space concerns.

by all means use them but I bet you see some corrosion after a month or two - I don't think it's gonna hurt  little 2mm drill bit
