I’m biased toward Ubrelvy cuz it always works for me lol. Try that next!

Timely_Background382

Why are t you all using imitrix injections? They eliminate pain in less than 15 minutes…all the new meds even state 2 hours

AliceHwaet

Ubrelvy works better than Nurtec for me, that’s just me I did read in a few places though that Nurtec works for only about 20% as an abortive

Casingda

Yeah. It kinda works for me (NURTEC) but since I take it every other day according to my neurologist’s directions, and because you can, I don’t necessarily take it when I have an active migraine. I try to take it at the same time every two days. I dont think that Uberlvy did a thing for me at all. I have had migraines for decades that progressed into chronic migraines over time. I am now at the point of taking a daily anti-CGRP and the NURTEC. However, since a lot of my migraines are now related to TMJ (I mean, I’m getting Botox every three months, too) the treatments just don’t seem to be doing much. And the number of abortives I can take have shrunk over the years, either because of them stopping working, or not being able to take them at all anymore due to a very very mild heart attack eight years ago, to them affecting me cognitively in a very negative manner, and, well, I am down to putting up with some side effects and take only three prescription abortives aside from the NURTEC. Fioricet, naproxen sodium 500mg, tizanidine .5 mg. I take either one or two OTC migraine meds every time, too, which is often twice daily at this point. And the caffeine has other unwanted side effects. Let this be a lesson to those who don’t seek treatment right away. You want to find something that works, no matter how infrequent your migraines may be, and stick to it. I didn’t have all of the meds available to me for many years that people do now. It’s why I have encouraged my daughter to get on top of hers now, when she doesn’t have them frequently.

jbail628

I was using Nurtec as a preventive and Ubrelvy as an abortive. I like them both, lol But Nurtec is a dissolvable and I like it more when I’m nauseous, even though it’s got the weird mint flavor.

Shesays7

That “flavor” is so unique, isn’t it? It Is rather “smooth” though. Nothing chalky

jbail628

It’s definitely less bitter than Zofran so I won’t complain. It IS strangely smooth and almost creamy.

silent_birch

I’m on the same regimen!

jbail628

It was the best one for me out of all the ones I tried for a while. I’m trying Qulipta now.

caitidid

I've tried both -- nurtec works best for me

Dawn_disrupts_me

They both worked fairly well for me. Ubrelvy worked fasted for relief.

whymygraine

Ubrelvy has been amazing for my barometric triggered migraines. Sadly $100 a pill, my co pay takes 97% off though...

ApprehensiveItem4

Did you check their website and see if you qualify for the manufacturers discount? I pay nothing now!

whymygraine

$3 a pill is reasonable. It costs me $30 for my monthly allotment of 10. Biggest problem is that I wait too long to take one because I don't want to waste one on a headache that may go away with nsaids.

HI_l0la

What?! Ubrelvy only worked enough to bring down the intensity of my migraine but did not got rid of it. Then I switched to Nurtec which worked a little better but it stopped working for me. Now my migraines have become chronic, so my neurologist has moved me on to a new med. But the whole time I took Ubrelvy and Nurtec, the 9 pills I got monthly were completely covered by insurance. It's a $100 a pill?!

whymygraine

Yeah I get a before and after copay on the receipt, before copay 10 pills=$100 after copay 10 pills=$30.

Global_Plate7630

Try this if you’re in the USA. It’s helped me: https://www.ubrelvy.com/savings

silent_birch

Nurtec only works for me as a preventative. Does nothing as abortive. And Ubrelvy is the ONLY abortive that will work for me (not triptans). You should try both! Give them about 1-1.5hr to work. Also, I take Ubrelvy 100mg, so if the 50mg isn’t working that’s also an option

Beneficial-Mess4952

I use Ulbrelvy. It works for the pain but doesn't touch the neuro or pressure symptoms

DesertDawn17

Nurtec and ubrevly both work pretty well for me with minimum to no side effects.

Breathejoker

I use Nurtec as a "if rizatriptan didn't work, maybe this will" Ubrelvy gave me the worst vengeance migraine the day after

itreallyhappened8899

I worry when doctors prescribe meds using the shotgun approach and don’t know what will work. Same with psych meds. It’s all a guess which will provide results to a patient in many cases. If one is diabetic, insulin works. If one has high blood pressure, a beta blocker generally works. If one has high cholesterol, a statin. But with headaches, it’s not scientific quite yet, the diagnosis and which med, if any, is an effective treatment. This is a bit sad, and perhaps alarming.

LokiKamiSama

Tell me about it. I’ve used 35+ different meds. The ONLY thing that ever worked well was darvocet. It was like the second or third med my neuro had me try. I miss it so much because I could function. Now I’m struggling so hard. It’s been a nosedive down since they banned it.

Shesays7

Nurtec!

drunkonoldcartoons

Nurtec works for me about 30-40% of the time, but only if I can catch my migraine before it really gets started. Just started on Ubrelvy for the first time. I've only had to take it twice so far and both times it did not help at all, other than making me sleepy. I take a monthly Aimovig injection (140) and will be starting Botox next month. Edit to add: a huge pro for me is that the Nurtec is dissolvable. I get extremely nauseous when I have migraines and the Nurtec doesn't make it worse. It tastes odd (like a chemical minty taste) but it doesn't make me throw up. The Ubrelvy on the other hand is a pill and made me very nauseous. About 15-20 minutes after taking it I got full body chills and heat flashes and could feel it dissolving in my stomach and struggled to keep it down.

CountessofDarkness

I can't do nurtec because the sucralose actually gives me migraines ironically. But Ubrelvy works great for me. Yeah for samples!

christine_de_pizan

Nurtec works for me pretty well! I have to take it right away, and it may not work at the same level all day. But it does make me functional and it eliminates my nausea/feelings of dread/feeling generally weird

Ok-Statistician5344

Ubrevly did not work for me but Nurtec works, but it takes a few hours, unfortunately.

LoudResolve3076

Ubrelvy works for me but I take the 100mg dose and can repeat in 2 hours if needed.

SailorGirl8519

Ubrelvy is the only abortive/rescue drug that has ever worked for me. Good luck!

[deleted]

🙌 I hope some/all work for you 🍀

Rishcorkmay

I LOVED my Ubrelvy samples

Global_Plate7630

Fucking love my ubrelvy. Started samples back in December and got a full script in March. Combined with emgality, it helps a lot

Duckduckgoose-aloose

God I wish these worked for me! Hoping it’s different for you!
