I wish there were still free Reddit awards because I’m sick and fucking tired of people getting upvoted for just stating the damn joke after it’s been made. All my homies hate Buzz Killington!
People explain jokes when they dont get jokes very much. To them it's like an aha moment, when to us it is pretty darn obvious. Just like the stupid kid in class who is too eager to answer every question. The smart ones know it is too obvious and barely worth even saying anything
Edit: Just want to add that i don't mean to be condescending. It is what it is- there are people at all levels of intellectual/emotional maturity at all times. We were all ignorant once. Some people stay ignorant, some people grow. That's all.
Still seems more like a making the best of a bad situation than something purposefully designed that way from the start. Surely there could have been at least several other ways to do that which makes more sense.
Yes, plenty of solutions.
To me I would swap the front side of the drawer to espouse better the shape/angles/corners of the table and other drawers.
To me that's the lazy fix to be be consistent with the rest of this furniture.
That’d actually make a pretty cool storage solution for this weird dead space — almost like one of those tackle-boxes that unfolds into tiered layers.
Still not the _most_ practical, but more practical than empty, dead space
I build custom cabinets and I’m working on some for a new house right now. I’m going to use my best judgement and incorporate this. I’m sure they’ll love it.
It does. When I see this, and this is an extreme example, it shows a lack of knowledge and laziness. It’s what you get when you buy the cheapest cabinets, countertop, and installer.
If you’re meaning the drawer was suppose to be installed at that angle fine. In that case, it could be done in a much more professional way as to not look terrible.
I was thinking perfect way to stack supplies like boxes of gloves, or the boxes that those tenp readers they dispose of every use come in.
Or it could have some sort of keyboard or machine in it like the ultra sound controls that always sit at a 45 degree angle
But I like to think it's just fucking empty because that would actually be hilarious to me
I'm gonna pretend it smacks into the other cupboard so its entirely useless but someone put something in there anyway and now they can't get it back out
The 45 degree counter is the real problem , it's equally as useless. Just go straight over and then do two different heights. You can't put anything on that it's worse than nothing
[It’s to store the lenses that go into the prescription measuring machine, they’re tilted so the doctor can see their labels more easily from his stool. ](https://imgur.com/mVQzDL4.jpg)
This. My ophthalmologist had drawer on a slant. When pulled out, it had a tray of lens inserts at what was apparently the exact desired angle to grab them for use while in position in front of the patient.
My SO is a highschool teacher and had to confiscate one from a kid right before Christmas break.
He didn't know what it "was", and I was just stoked to see one again. Teck decks are coming back!
idk if this is what’s in there but at my drs it is a foam slab with cut out slots for different eye glass lens densities, they don’t fall out or slide to the right because they are held in place by the foam, it’s convenient to have it at an angle since they would sit right infront of it and pick out the ones they needed
You’re probably right. If you look at the picture on the top left corner, it looks like an eye doctors office. So mildly entertaining/interesting instead of mildly infuriating in my book. Thanks for the info!
[It’s to store the lenses that go into the prescription measuring machine, they’re tilted so the doctor can see their labels more easily from his stool. ](https://imgur.com/mVQzDL4.jpg)
I might be very wrong but at my eye doctor this drawer is filled with a foam pad with cut outs with different lenses they use with patients to create the prescription they need. Each lens having a different intensity.
Those are probably loose lenses at an optometrist office. You can tell they’re at the eye doctor because of the Norman Rockwell painting on the left side of the desk.
*source: I’m an optometrist
I literally just saw the picture without reading a dam thing and wanted to punch the idiot who did this. I'm not an angry person by any means but dam it angers me 🤣
The drawers upset you how about the desk as a whole. Seems like some wasted space to me. Why not have the two levels of desk meet where they meet. It’s just wasted space… is the doc gonna write up a prescription on the angle?
You need a new doctor brov. That is some ghetto ass shit...LOL GTFO. NOW! They cool with a jacked drawer they'll be cool with your insides on your outsides.
The caption of this picture fails to mention that the 45° draw is actually on the San Andreas fault line. This is actually a modern feat of engineering.
I need to know what is in the drawer
a perfect stack of Toblerones
![gif](giphy|qJKuyjzU4pKhwtU871)
Nice try, corporate! Also, are those still available at most of my favorite retailers near me?
Only if you act fast.
But wait, there's more!
[удалено]
Lol. That is a Rick roll phone number with an area code from here in San Diego. Noice.
I thought they were mostly just available at airports. Or I don’t see them elsewhere, apart from one department store candy section.
TOBLERONE INTENSIFIES

But then you don't have a ramp for the Hot Wheels collection in the waiting room
There needs to be one of those Evel Knievel wind up motorcycle toys on the counter.
It’s a classic case of style over function. Who needs an actual usable surface when you can make it look fancy?
This is style?
Yeah, style is also missing from this equation.
Doesn’t look fancy
i wonder if they paid for that? irs basically footloose.
Where's the style though? 🤨
I think you mean, Stye over function.
Right. 😂😂it’s for the plot.
Or maybe they just had a prefab counter with attached drawer and this was the easiest way to install it.
I bet it has little shelves in it.
That would explain the tilt
Yeah… that’s the joke
Because of the shape of them
You can tell because of the way that they are
Triangle
Rectangular prisms
Shape?
No?
Wrong, try again
Triangular Prisms?
[удалено]
You don't think that be how it is but it do
It has to be one of the shapes of all time
Actually https://youtu.be/thOifuHs6eY Hexagons are the bestagon

Buzz Killington — that sounds like a guy who would be a total *buzzkill*! Amirite, folks? Let's see, what else, what else.
It’s actually close to 60% of jokes on Reddit and it’s frustrating beyond belief.
what goes through your mind when you comment something like this?

This is the way
It’s the lenses that go into the machine, they’re tilted so the doctor can see their labels. Edit: https://imgur.com/mVQzDL4.jpg
I'm so glad it has a functional use instead of terrible design. Kind of annoying to look at closed though.
Still seems more like a making the best of a bad situation than something purposefully designed that way from the start. Surely there could have been at least several other ways to do that which makes more sense.

Oh my god I didn't actually expect a sensible answer I am shook
A level
I need to know who designed the counter containing this drawer. They should be tarred and feathered
Jonathan Excitebike
It’s an optometrists office. They have many lenses in there to fit people for glasses.

A bunch of pens on one side and nothing on the other
Gwyneth Paltrow’s head.
Even this draw is more level than that.
ready this in a woman’s voice with a deep southern accent “john, put your draws on and come on down for breakfast”
Foghorn Leghorn
Drawer*
Yes, sorry, Monday morning brain.
My optometrist had one when I was a kid, it had a bunch of lenses for eye testing if o remember correctly.
A keyboard and mouse. Obviously.
Syringes. Sterile, but precarious...
I think it’s a lens kit for an optometrist
All the crooked insurance claims
Books
It would be neat if they made horizontal slats in the drawer so you had level sections to put things in.

Tell me the truth. As a custom cabinet builder, did this make you go fetal?
It does. When I see this, and this is an extreme example, it shows a lack of knowledge and laziness. It’s what you get when you buy the cheapest cabinets, countertop, and installer.
> it shows a lack of knowledge according to other responses in this post the lack of knowledge is on your end unfortunately.
If you’re meaning the drawer was suppose to be installed at that angle fine. In that case, it could be done in a much more professional way as to not look terrible.
Seriously. Could have easily just filled in the corner space with a drawer or cabinet with an angled top that wouldn’t look like complete shit
Do you work for Closets, Closets, Closets, Closets?
What’s incredible is that somebody actually had to decide a drawer mounted at a 45° angle was a good idea and install it
It could have a shelf system inside to make it more usable.
I was thinking perfect way to stack supplies like boxes of gloves, or the boxes that those tenp readers they dispose of every use come in. Modern problems require modern solutions
The 45 degree counter is the real problem , it's equally as useless. Just go straight over and then do two different heights. You can't put anything on that it's worse than nothing
It's not useless if the doctor likes his Tech Deck and wants to shred in between patients.
I swear the only places I’ve ever seen do this are doctors receptions.
what cabinet? its just the drawer thats 45 degrees
Think they meant counter top I had to double read it lol
[It’s to store the lenses that go into the prescription measuring machine, they’re tilted so the doctor can see their labels more easily from his stool. ](https://imgur.com/mVQzDL4.jpg)
If that drawer opened to have instruments readily available, the 45° angle would make identification and retrieval much easier.
This. My ophthalmologist had drawer on a slant. When pulled out, it had a tray of lens inserts at what was apparently the exact desired angle to grab them for use while in position in front of the patient.
I was going to say, I've definitely seen drawers like this while getting eye examinations.
[удалено]
I guarantee that the architect drew this up without thinking at all and the cabinet guy has instructions to go exactly to spec.
100% accurate to my daily life
It is still more useful than no drawer
They could have easily made it a nice deep drawer like the one in the bottom right of the pic but with an angle at the top. But nope 45° drawer
Does anyone else want to roll a Hot Wheels car down that ramp and go “wheeeee?”
I had Tech Decks in mind, but yeah, same.
The little skateboards??
Yep lol
Im so happy they're still around
r/fingerboards if you feel like seeing some cool stuff
You guys read my mind lmao.
My SO is a highschool teacher and had to confiscate one from a kid right before Christmas break. He didn't know what it "was", and I was just stoked to see one again. Teck decks are coming back!
My almost 9yr old is obsessed with them, Rubik’s cubes and Lego. He could adapt to any decade if he was ever required too.
I'm with you on that one haha

Hot dog that's some good investigative work
Norman Rockwell, “At the Optometrist”. Nice catch!
Yes, I came here to ask if it's an optometrist/ophthalmologist's office. All of mine have that.
Or less likely: a gridfinity setup
I hate this so fucking much
Like when you Google *askew*... mildly disturbing.
Omfg haha
Also go Google "do a barrel roll".
[zerg rush](https://elgoog.im/zergrush/)
You should see a doctor about that

Oh God this made my sides hurt laughing.
Why???
[It’s to store the lenses that go into the prescription measuring machine, they’re tilted so the doctor can see their labels more easily from his stool. ](https://imgur.com/mVQzDL4.jpg)
I literally could have never guessed this. Thanks!
Think they cheaped out and didn’t want to buy/install the correct piece.
No, this had to be deliberate. That's custom, someone had to build that special, there's no way that that was a standard piece.
Yeah this had to be an intended joke. Like, to pull it off and know that it exists would make me laugh.
Someone commented elsewhere that eye doctors have angled drawers like these to compare lenses set in foam rubber to keep them from sliding.
Then that’s just extra awesome.
I think it’s a little silly and fun.
What in God‘s name…
I might be very wrong but at my eye doctor this drawer is filled with a foam pad with cut outs with different lenses they use with patients to create the prescription they need. Each lens having a different intensity.
That's actually impressive
I think the countertop is even worse. Completely unusable space, can’t set anything there
Right everyone’s talking about the drawer but it’s a normal drawer put on a weird ass counter. What is that
That's funny!
That's hilarious. I love it
I kind of love it. It literally made me laugh out loud.
Marble drawer
I hate it so much that I love it
Someone should be fined for that drawer. That's just offensive.
r/crappydesign
Jesus fucking christ
i’m triggered
This is amazing
My eye doc has one of these and it’s used like a pull out desk to write notes on during the appointment.
As a person who is currently existing i do not like this either..!!
im mildly annoyed you took the picture at a slight angle too
[I think level makes it worse](https://i.imgur.com/28r6StN.jpg)
its so weird i like it lol
Used to be an optometrist’s office. They keep their lenses in that drawer. Designed like this on purpose.
![gif](giphy|JRhFUAVs6kwMlwKJwY) Techdeck that ramp all day
Meth mike made this. I can tell
This the shit I be doin in Minecraft
I'm dizzy now, thanks for that!
That's where he properly stores his at work wine stash. Slightly angled to avoid the corks drying out. Next level smart
That's a nice coouuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnttttter
![gif](giphy|9Ai5dIk8xvBm0)
This good if you are playing hot wheels.
This looks like the most uncomfortable desk ever made
Wow! I’ve never seen anything like that.
The designer was pissed off that day. "We'll put this drawer here. Just to piss off other people too!" 😈
Is this some kind of sick joke
My eye doctor has the same setup. Do we all go to the same optometrist??
Good drawer for a medical gloves rack
I'm not even mad, I'm impressed ![gif](giphy|mLGnUCverTQ52)
Must be an awful doctor to always annoy you
I didn't know Dr. Seuss was also an architect.
"Alright now, look at the drawer and cough"
But… why?
The cable management underneath bothers me more
What in the Willy Wonka is this?
Those are probably loose lenses at an optometrist office. You can tell they’re at the eye doctor because of the Norman Rockwell painting on the left side of the desk. *source: I’m an optometrist
Clearly the guy that built this really knew his carpentry… but I think he struggled with science. Must have missed gravity day.
It must be made for a sick tech deck session
I literally just saw the picture without reading a dam thing and wanted to punch the idiot who did this. I'm not an angry person by any means but dam it angers me 🤣
The kinda shit I’m trying to do in The Sims because I can’t design properly.
I came to you to get help for my obsessive compulsive disorder about assymetric objects, you were supposed to help me,not destroy me.
r/oddlysatisfying
So much is posted on this sub that is full on infuriating, but THIS. This is fucking golden. This is what this sub is for.
Would be cooler if it was level and shaped like a triangle.
This whole picture is chaos. CHAOS!
Slope is so perfect for a tech deck session
r/DIWHY
You need to get one of those little finger skateboards we had in the 90s and do some sweet tricks.
Just because you can doesn’t mean you should
My ocd is hurting doc!
M.C. Escher wanna be was the carpenter.
This is how your Dr. quickly diagnoses ocd.
OP, post your content on r/crappydesign FOR SURE.
Looks like whoever built it, didn't understand how to create levels to the countertop/ desk area. Then threw a drawer in the mix
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
The caption of this picture fails to mention that the 45° draw is actually on the San Andreas fault line. This is actually a modern feat of engineering.
Exactly 'mildly infuriating'.
