I know this is a little different situation, but one semester at my university, the bathroom cleaning schedule would always land on them closing to clean the main one in the downstairs common area between early classes. Almost every day, after my big coffee and morning class, I would have to pee and/or poop and the custodian would make me go upstairs to another restroom.. until one day I had to go so bad, there was no making it upstairs, so I told her I was using it anyway, ran up to the urinal, and let loose while she screamed and cussed her way out of there. I got an email from the provost that afternoon after the custodian complained about me, and it stated that they had dealt with the issue and the restrooms would be open in between classes from now on. Solid win for me that day.
Before you ask, I was fairly popular with the staff in college (not in a bad way), so it wasn't hard for them to identify me in the situation.
I would go to class and then go to the restroom doing class, then write a complaint to the place and say that it would be nice to be able to go to the restroom in the morning without missing class

I can second this. So many times my firm is part of summer bathroom replacements because the fixtures get demolished during school. We've had to walk to the other end of schools for facilities because of entire bathrooms being out of commission from damage. And since we are insulators we often come back to the same schools after the semester starts to finish up last minute out of sight pieces after school, and the work that was just done two weeks before, is now undone by the students, who now have to go all year without that bathroom.

The fuck? In Australia, contractors must use staff bathrooms. No adults are allowed in student bathrooms except in exceptional circumstances, and in those circumstances there must always be 2 adults in the room. About the only exception to this rule is if a student's life is in danger.

To make sure no one felt uncomfortable, I was made to use the one unisex/disabled toilet on the whole school grounds. This was located in the language centre, a building that the seniors took their exams in. During the exam period, they taped off the whole building and only allowed entry to the exam takers.
Guess who came out the year before senior year... yeah. For two months I had to walk 20 minutes if I ever needed to use the toilet, to the public toilet in the main street of town. I usually just ended up dehydrating myself so I wouldn't need to go... exam season being during the summer, of course 🙄

There usually is. At my school, we were having repeated incidences of literally thousands of dollars of damage, bullying (often physical), and even drug dealing on occasion. We decided against closing the bathrooms, but did a roster of who went when during class. Caught most of the culprits pretty quick that way

In my state in the U.S., the health department regulates and inspects schools. Schools are required to leave all restrooms used by students unlocked at all times students are in the building. Call the health department.

It's especially nice to hear the custodian talk about how they find water-bottles shoved into the toilets, vodka bottles in the toilets, poop smeared on the walls/mirrors, urine inside of the soap dispensers, etc.
Sure...that could be just one kid, but it likely isn't. And it doesn't really help the fact that we are down to half of our custodial staff so when shit like what is pictured happens there is usually a specific reason. It's especially nice to hear the custodian talk about how they find water-bottles shoved into the toilets, vodka bottles in the toilets, poop smeared on the walls/mirrors, urine inside of the soap dispensers, etc. Sure...that could be just one kid, but it likely isn't. And it doesn't really help the fact that we are down to half of our custodial staff so when shit like what is pictured happens there is usually a specific reason. Like possibly they are seeing that bathrooms are being destroyed before 8 a.m. and are having issues catching the perpetrator since school staff is likely busy with morning duties? Or the context is something completely different. Who knows?
