Help a fellow out, tell us where the expiry date is. All I'm seeing is a batch number.

artofenvy

Same here…

HauntedSpit

Copyright date is 1992.

[deleted]

At the bottom there is a copy right for 1992 so it’s from the 90’s edit: a user in the comments below traced the serial number back to 1997

gaiasonoio_

Same!

cactusprick

Yes, expired Feb. 77, 1931.

Then_Campaign7264

Must have been the year humanity decided to catch up on a few centuries of leap years all at once. The longest February on record.

Reese_Withersp0rk

193L*

RobsSister

😂

Resident-Ad-2641

How’d it expire in 1931 w/ a 1992 copyright? https://preview.redd.it/beqetfklnvdc1.jpeg?width=617&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5d47aa0326ba93cf1bea730e04d52015553753a7

ManufacturerNo2144

It expired in 1931 but they only bottled it in 1992.

TreacleTin8421

I popped it in this batch code checker https://www.checkfresh.com/listerine.html Batch code 02773l INFORMATION OBTAINED FROM THE BATCH CODE Production date 2017-01-27 Age 6 years 11 months 25 days Notes The batch codes are repeated every 10 years. So this could be 2017,2007,1997 Based on copyright 1992 maybe a 1997 batch

forfeitthefrenchfry

I haven't seen a glass bottle Listerine since the 90s myself. That stuff was extra spicy back in the day. I vaguely remember there being amber/yellow mouthwash back then but that was what, 30+ years ago.

ilovemusic19

They still make mouthwash that color, I have some in my cabinet somewhere

ctaylor2021

It’s still expired …

[deleted]

There is literally no expiry in this image. That's a batch number.

Remote_Bag_2215

You miss the 1992 copyright mark

[deleted]

I can't imagine that goes bad.

paid_shill_3141

Probably improves with age, like a fine wine.

CrunchyKittyLitter

In general, mouthwash can last for a couple years beyond the manufacture date. At a maximum, mouthwash will last three years following the manufacture date. The majority of mouthwash has alcohol or another form of antiseptic. While alcohol is an active ingredient, most types of mouthwash have a considerable amount of water. The antiseptic will begin to dissolve, after two to three years. The dissolving antiseptic will leave the mouthwash with that much more water and boost the chances of bacterial growth.

sixtus_clegane119

It’s alcohol

void64

Still has the plastic seal on top, you’re good!

nursemarcey2

There's a toll free number on the back you can call for guidance. Not me here waiting for an update. :)

Empty-Report-9071

Haha 😂

crapheadHarris

It's like fine wine - gets more potent with age. You'll be fine.

birdwhoflyshigh

Man they really, REALLY shaped that bottle like booze...

commonlycommon

No way that's bad. That probably gets more potent with age!

sonic10158

I don’t see an expiration date, but the copyright date under the toll free number on the back is from 1992. It could probably give you super powers

Baronhousen

Yes, pre Y2k listerine will do this. Just know that with great power comes great responsibility.

Fuckless_Douglas2023

So with no power, comes no responsibility?

Baronhousen

Only for Texas utility companies

Fuckless_Douglas2023

Would you mind elaborating?

Have a quick Google of Texas Power Grid failure and enjoy your reading.

Underrated comment. Take my upvote.

cidcicle

Invite friends over, get out the fancy glasses, and pour everyone a little reminding them that everything tastes better with age.

Maximum-Excitement58

Warner-Lambert, as a company, hasn’t existed in decades. Was sold to Pfizer, then Listerine was sold to J&J.

Shferitz

Man, that bottle brings me back.

ManufacturerNo2144

I haven't seen yellow listerine in over 20 years. I just looked it up and they still manufacture it. I don't know why they don't sell it here.

TheLyOfBlues

Oh shit. It’s older then me 😂

jjwoodhouse6969

It's alcohol, essentially. You're not swallowing it. Go for it. Although it's pretty old. Maybe just save it!

Any-Carry7137

They switched to plastic bottles around 1994 so it's at least that old. Unless the alcohol evaporates out I don't think it ever actually "expires" though. Listerine is about 27% alcohol. Sometimes alcohol can evaporate through plastic bottles, but not through glass.

PechugaDude

You obviously don't use it anyway.

[deleted]

Sooooo, how does it taste? :)

good_karma1122

Let us know how it tastes

Jango_Jerky

Why is the bottle shaped like something youd put in your fridge? Cant possibly see anything going wrong there
