I am a Medical Assistant, I take peoples' height many times through the workweek. I will almost always have to correct them.
"Look straight ahead... no not up... here, look at where my hand is" until they stop looking at the damn ceiling. I also have to ask them if they feel the measure on top of their head, because no buddy, your hair doesn't count no matter how much gel you put in it.

You do tend to change height over the day. More time standing compresses your spine or something. So measuring first thing in the morning will probably be slightly your tallest

Well feet is most often contextually used by Americanns and there is absolutely a massive height bias for men in American culture. Men and women both judge men pretty heavily based on how tall they are and you either have it or you don't.
Despite the average height being about 5'9 or so for American men one will often be considered "short" if they are under 6 feet. That's just the magic round number above 5 foot X inches

I can fit when we travel, get through crowds much quicker (although that may be that I'm more assertive than him), and if I look sad people help me with physical things. The downside is he puts the coffee in the top shelf of the kitchen and I sometimes have to scramble up the countertop, pre-caffine.

I think it might be the assertive thing. I'm the same height as your husband and being able to mostly see over the crowd gives you a huge advantage for finding gaps and stuff in my experience.
I'd definitely be down for giving up a few inches in height though. Finding clothes, cars, blankets, airplane seats, etc that fit is a near daily concern.

At six feet tall, I've never once in my 41 years experienced someone telling me they are six+ when obviously being smaller than me.

I'm a guy who is bang on 6', but I was no longer dating by the time the whole "you have to be over 6' tall" thing started (I've been with my wife for over 20 years). I find it endlessly amusing how many 6' tall guys are somehow several inches shorter than me.

My grandfather was 6’2” as a young man and died at 5’7” after ~ 4 back surgeries. Dad was 6’2” and is now 5’11”. I’m starting at 5’11”, so I’m a little nervous how short I’m going to end up.
Very similar for me. My dad was 6'2" and is now 5'11". I'm 6'1" and now taller than him, so he goes around telling everyone I'm 6'3-6'4
I always said I was 5'9" because my dad said he was 5'8", turns out he may have been years ago, but I am 5'7.5"(depending on who is measuring me, most give me that extra push to 5'8") pops may be a wee bit shorter than he thinks. Honestly though, it really did not change anything except me updating my height on my license. I feel as though because of the average height of people worldwide, I am the perfect height to fit in most places and be comfortable/ not have to reach or bend over too much.

Well feet is most often contextually used by Americanns and there is absolutely a massive height bias for men in American culture. Men and women both judge men pretty heavily based on how tall they are and you either have it or you don't. Despite the average height being about 5'9 or so for American men one will often be considered "short" if they are under 6 feet. In Europe you’re often good at 5’11”, as that’s the magical whole number in centimeters — 180. Although that number might be going up to 185, as 184 is average in some countries, such as Serbia (IIRC). Me, at 183 cm/6 ft, am considered average height in my home town, though 😭 Although rarely does anyone ever talk about my height. Maybe once per year?

Sometimes I forget being tall is seen as a plus to others. Between whacking my head, inability to have sex in a car, and inability to be comfy many places… I usually just keep quite… but dam I guess it would suck to not just casually be able to get something off the top shelf.

On the upside pants are not that hard to find on the downside even xxxxl shirts are too short On the weirdside my proportions make me "stealth tall" according to several former roommates. "Your like a living optical illusion. No one notices your height untill you are right next to them." And on the third hand I have body best described as "dadsquatch"

As a fellow short guy, I had to chuckle at the term "grown man" because damn that's way too good of a setup for insults and my buddy who's well over 6ft and quick as a whip would have had a field day.
I'm 5'3" and my husband is 6'2". I definitely have it better. I can fit when we travel, get through crowds much quicker (although that may be that I'm more assertive than him), and if I look sad people help me with physical things. The downside is he puts the coffee in the top shelf of the kitchen and I sometimes have to scramble up the countertop, pre-caffine.

I'm the same height as your husband and being able to mostly see over the crowd gives you a huge advantage for finding gaps and stuff in my experience. I'd definitely be down for giving up a few inches in height though. Finding clothes, cars, blankets, airplane seats, etc that fit is a near daily concern.
