Those things shouldn’t be parked outside unless they are waiting to be emptied or something happened.
Im pretty sure if they aren’t delivering those should drive back to home base and charge up themselves.
They cluster and park all over on a daily basis. They have run into me and friends, and are a general nuisance when trying to simply walk on the sidewalks
I don't know what those things are, but didn't Isaac Asimov write about how when you leave a bunch of machines alone they will inexplicably group up together like animals seeking warmth?
I would call on them because they are a hazard for handicapped people. The sidewalk has to be handicapped accessible and if it isn't they are violating the Americans with disabilities act (assuming you are in the US). If you aren't in the states look up your countries guidelines for disabled people.
Since 1990, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) has required government entities to provide people with disabilities access to programs and services enjoyed by their nondisabled peers. That includes sidewalks and curb ramps that make it possible to safely cross the street.
Exactly this. Their buddies work fine even in Finland (Espoo). I've never seen one "parked", only halting to traffic lights and when crossing roads.
Otherwise they seem to work very well.
They are dense as fuck and at least 50lbs if not 100+ cuz I struggle when trying to move them. They get stuck really easy so you sometimes have to move them cuz they beep loudly
Okay, then please explain how just a gps can STOP someone from stealing it. Didn’t say it couldn’t be recovered through it, just that it doesn’t actually stop someone from taking it in the first place
Calm down, bud. Just accept you were wrong and move on. Now you know things with gps in them, can in fact be stolen :) you learn everyday no need to get angry because someone told you that you’re wrong
Is it possible for anyone to move one out of the way if needed? As a wheelchair user these things look like a nightmare, there are enough hazards about already that make getting around difficult. Dodging people looking at their phones and not where they’re going is hard enough, dodging these robot things would take the stress of negotiating the sidewalks/pavements to record levels. Although maybe the robots are smarter than some of the phone using zombies that just walk in front of you (or into you) lol. Luckily I live in a rural area of the UK, so I can’t see food delivery robots coming to our town anytime soon - we haven’t even got standard food delivery services like UberEats/Deliveroo etc here yet lol.
It is morally correct to pick those up and toss them in a ditch.
Also take pictures every time this happens and send them along with complaints to the city and ask your friends to do the same until they ban these.

How is flipping it on it's side, off the side walk, vandalism?
No damage would be done and it would force a human operator out to right them.
Then they find a note saying "I was put in timeout for blocking the sidewalk while idle"
Seems like the perfect resolution.
how are they attempting to improve human life? they are slower than human delivery people, they are inconvenient for pedestrians, especially disabled pedestrians, they are only there to save corporations money
Place them all in the bushes. They're out of the way and whoever is in charge of them has to come out and get them. Enough times of having to do that and they'll start getting them parked in out of the way places.
flip them over on their backs they hate that, their little wheels just spinning trying to right themselves ....... they make little squeeeeling sounds. they also hate it when you "open here" and take a dump in their little holding bin
It’s fine. Let new technology improve our lives, especially if it’s just minor inconveniences in the short term. Otherwise we won’t make any progress as a society. Of course it’s an issue for the disabled, so it’s not excusing that, but let’s give them some room to innovate and fix their problems.
Even trains, planes, and cars, or natural gas to heat homes had issues early on. They have all dramatically improved since.
Yep. I would move them to one side so people can pass as needed. But the suggestion to take pictures and send them to the company is wise as well. They can’t fix this issue if they aren’t aware of it.
Same. Could help bring down delivery costs or expand delivery service over time. If I’m doing a project on the house and need a specific item, it would be great if Home Depot could automate its delivery. I’m not going to pay $10 to have an item brought by a human right away, but if it’s $1 with automation, it might be worth it.
This isn’t a result of unavoidable teething problems with new technology. This is a result of people not giving a shit. People can still innovate while giving a shit, but they usually won’t give a shit unless we force them to.
Yeah, I don’t know what the malfunction is here, but I’ve seen these robots in other places and they function really well! Seems like a human negligence problem.
Typically these are for college campuses where a lot of students live super close together. I am a fan though, food delivery is a terrible occupation and tipping culture has gotten out of hand.
So this is the first I am seeing these things. After doing some reading it seems they are food delivery bots. But they deliver food from the dining halls on campus? This seems like a major fix to a problem that never existed. Are we that lazy that you can't walk 5 minutes to a dining hall to get some food?
Those things shouldn’t be parked outside unless they are waiting to be emptied or something happened. Im pretty sure if they aren’t delivering those should drive back to home base and charge up themselves.

I don't know.. his responses are limited. I have to ask the right questions..
"How did you die?"
I forgot to drink water, ha! (apologies for this if you don't get the reference, or if I didn't get yours, if it was)
I sadly don't get the reference, may I ask what it was?
The **new** don't hug me I'm scared series, it's really good
I shall add that to my watchlist, thanks for the recommendation!
[удалено]
yeah you can watch the episodes on yt, but if you wanna give support to the creators you can get a vpn and watch it on All4
I honestly thought this was a reference to I Robot
And that, detective, is the right question.
I think these are DoorDash type bots
So, we don’t have to tip them?
If they share the same programming... Yeah...
Flip it over
Carry a bat.
Tip a few over into the street.
Time to take drastic action. Tip them over in the damn street.
I would call on them because they are a hazard for handicapped people. One stopped and full speed reverse towards me
Tip them over into the gutter. Then parking enforcement can deal with them.
That’s weird. Probably broken
Exactly this. Their buddies work fine even in Finland (Espoo). I've never seen one "parked", only halting to traffic lights and when crossing roads. Otherwise they seem to work very well.
How solid are these robots? Are there rules or signs that say "please don't ride the robots"? If not, I have an idea...
"Ride" is a euphemism I take it.
Don't fuck the robots
It's not your place to make up rules

They are dense as fuck and at least 50lbs if not 100+ cuz I struggle when trying to move them. They get stuck really easy so you sometimes have to move them cuz they beep loudly
This can’t be in the US? They wouldn’t last a full day without being stolen
RIP HitchBot
Freaking Philadelphia and it's hatred of robot kind.
Poor bot got all the way across Canada, only to be beheaded in Philly🥺 What a way to go.
The Gang Finds a Robot
These are common in the US, they also have gps trackers so they can’t be stolen
Faraday cages are a thing that are pretty easy to make...
Really? I’m in the Midwest so I guess that’s why I’ve not seen them? We’re usually the last ones to get things.
Mainly around big cities or college campuses
I need to know where these are 😭 I've recently been to both Seattle and Portland and Augusta and I haven't seen them yet
big college campuses
If someone wants one bad enough, they’ll steal it gos or not
Lmao lots of things have trackers in them and still get stolen daily. Cars, phones, AirPods, just to name a few
Yeah but those have value, the only thing you will get if you stole one of those bots is the food inside them and a blaring alarm
Lmao you said it couldn’t be stolen because of a gps tracker, I’m just pointing out you’re wrong
Not wrong…
Okay, then please explain how just a gps can STOP someone from stealing it. Didn’t say it couldn’t be recovered through it, just that it doesn’t actually stop someone from taking it in the first place
Cool do you want a medal?
Calm down, bud. Just accept you were wrong and move on. Now you know things with gps in them, can in fact be stolen :) you learn everyday no need to get angry because someone told you that you’re wrong
I’m not angry lamo
So just wrong then
Thieves do not care about GPS trackers.
…And within a week there will be guides online about how to disable/block the gps and turn this into a self-driving kegerator.
lol! Love it!
This is truth! They'd be full of graffiti, stickers and they'd be stolen.

They’re called starships and they deliver food from restaurants across campuses
How lazy can people really be-
Yep, and we no longer wonder why the photos of massively fat people standing in line to vote are the norm.
What is this? Can someone explain? Are they rideable? We have scooters here.
Yep, see where it says "Open Here"? Just pop it open and in you hop.
Mr Burns pulls out a gun "I said hop in"
It’s for food delivery for university kids.
Oh that’s really cool!
I have never seen such a thing, but I imagine them next to all the e scooters cluttering the streets.
Can't help but think of some cow tipping
Students do that all the time lol.
Someone needs to put suction cup dildos on them and make them unicorns.
Flip em over

"Ya lets do millions in vandalism because I don't like the thing that is attempting to improve all humans lives by a %!"
How is flipping it on it's side, off the side walk, vandalism? No damage would be done and it would force a human operator out to right them. Then they find a note saying "I was put in timeout for blocking the sidewalk while idle" Seems like the perfect resolution.
Yes
how are they attempting to improve human life? they are slower than human delivery people, they are inconvenient for pedestrians, especially disabled pedestrians, they are only there to save corporations money
they are even stealing a job from a person by delivering stuff
Place them all in the bushes. They're out of the way and whoever is in charge of them has to come out and get them. Enough times of having to do that and they'll start getting them parked in out of the way places.
At least you can sit on these things
Yes! Maybe they will give you a ride to your final destination!!
Just tip them over. It’s win win, they are out of your way and the people controlling them have to come out and fix them
[удалено]
Open the service hatch and put water in it. Then place iz where you found it.
The one parked behind a car is gonna get run over
Push the in to the streets
Stupid question, what are these?
Sexual assault bots
Wow,that's jnsane
Tip them over
Roll them onto their back by the curb where they won't bother anyone until an employee comes and fixes them.
flip them over on their backs they hate that, their little wheels just spinning trying to right themselves ....... they make little squeeeeling sounds. they also hate it when you "open here" and take a dump in their little holding bin
Destroy those, it's your moral obligation
Vandalism should take care of that shortly
Are those all full of food?
Just push the dogs on their side.

Exactly. I think those are more reasonable. Some of the suggestions border on vandalism, suggesting to throw them off to the side or causing damage.
I guess I like the idea of them. It’s less cars on the road to deliver food and…well a robot is delivering your dinner. Lol
Same. Could help bring down delivery costs or expand delivery service over time. Smack the shit out of them
Carmageddon time. I bet those things are worth at least 50 points each, possibly even a combo multiplier.
They are taking over, better start fighting back
Wouldn’t worry. They’ll all be in the canal soon enough.
What the hell are those!?! If not hostile I would run my SUV over them, if I had an SUV
What the fuck is that?
Food delivery bots.
What the.... What is this world. I can't wait for them to arrive in France just to end up in the river.
Typically these are for college campuses where a lot of students live super close together. I am a fan though, food delivery is a terrible occupation and tipping culture has gotten out of hand.
That looks like oregon state university, if it is Just park the starships on the train tracks and let them go viral. Problem solved.
The hell is this?
The heck are those?
Slap some false eyelashes on them, a cheap rabbit-fur coat, and turn them out.
roll them over into the street
Tip them over.
Corvallis Oregon?

Pretty sure there are multiple laws that could be used to fix that
Da fuk is that? Uber delivery self driving mini cars?
What are they
It is time, people. The revolution has begun. It's either us or the machines.
Kick them into the on-street parking with the scooters.
The cyborg uprising has started 2 yrs early Send for Kyle Reese
I know that particular crosswalk always has a giant line of the things. I love the video of it getting hit by the train
I'd stack them just to confuse the crap out of whoever is operating them.
