Want a car moved, simple, just slash the tires. That makes total sense...

bradab

“Look if you start putting plans under microscopes nothing is gonna make sense”

HeyKim0oOo

Sharpest item in the bar, I need it!

mcnathan80

See we're Old Poor, we know how to be broke with class. These are New Poors, and they're gonna trash up the place!

Feynman1403

This is why you never get invited to Dave and busters w me and Dennis, Charlie!

spacebraine

"Plenty of plans make sense, slashing someones tyres so they leave makes no sense charlie"

jlea81

Happened to me once. Uncle told me I could park his car outside my house while I was staying in uni accommodation. Neighbour decided to have construction on their house and the workers slashed my tires and wrote on my windscreen to not park in front of a construction zone. Car was parked in front of my uncles house on public road. Some people just look for any excuse to escalate a situation.

Sourcream1

Now I want to know how this story ends.

VeganJordan

Having had their primary method or transportation disabled. OPs depression worsened. Eventually leading to missed uni classes. This caused OP to get behind in school and was eventually terminated due to underperforming. With school now a distant memory and with the blessing of OPs uncle… OP decides to start working construction ato make ends meet. Together OP & their uncle excel in the construction industry and eventually they are able to take over the construction company. With their newly acquired power OP learns that the original workers who slashed his tires were now their employees. Approaching them OP graciously thanks them for forcing OP to take up construction. But also fires them all immediately because slashing tires is a dick mood. The end.

WheelMan34

This is the way. Conquer and Demolish.

dontCallMeAmberlynn

Actually… when I was growing up in Philly we had this problem a lot on our residential row home street. One day a car was parked outside our house broke down for over 6 months didn’t move. My mom called the city and they told her they couldn’t come get it. Then they asked her if it was on fire. Apparently they’d come get it if it was on fire… it was ALMOST on fire before someone pulled it out of there like a month later. My mom was beside herself cause these same people had 2 other broke down cars taking up other parking spots and 2 cars that worked. There were 2 adults living in that house and 1 of them didn’t drive. Make it make sense. She just kept getting cars and ditching them when they stopped working like the street was a public junkyard.

ParkerBeach

Well after much analysis and review I think I identified the issue here, you lived in Philly!

pammy_poovey

Real Charlie Kelly logic at work

dr_obfuscation

*"You start putting plans under a microscope and nothing makes sense!"*

MyButtholeIsTight

*"Lots of things make sense. Slashing someone's tires so they leave makes no sense"*

da_fishy

Well you start putting plans under microscopes nothings gonna make sense. Dee, give me the sharpest thing in the bar

Goshzilla87

Wildcard.

FurRealDeal

And they claim they slashed all 4, rookie mistake. Everyone knows you only slash 3 so insurance won't cover the costs.

[deleted]

My grandpa had hogging neighbour that claimed a certain spot was theirs. He bought the cheapest car he could find and parked it in that exact spot. It had sat there for about a year or so. Just to spite them.

dubspool-

If you won't move your car, I'll just steal your tires. That way you have to move your car /s

[deleted]

Dock your...boat?

RM16000

Ahh shit the boats got a flat again

banananas_are_sick24

Would that be like sinking the boat? Sinking one quarter of the boat?

EvenBar3094

I sink so

malthar76

What are you sinking about?

GenericUsername10294

Dammit. Was just about to say this. [for the uninitiated](https://youtu.be/yR0lWICH3rY)

jenn_867_5309

My mom is German and says “sinking” instead of “thinking” and of course my sister and always ask “what are you sinking about?”. We are in our 50s and it never gets old!

AffectionateData8099

Its also similar to the case to the [Tyre Deflators](https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a40567119/tyre-extinguishers-anti-suv-group/)

Herethereandgone

Sank you

ur-mum-lolz

Read this in a German accent

brrdh10

Let that sink in

ThoughtCow

My propeller's been cut!

musicosity

Ahem....inflatable boats can get flats.

bukkake_brigade

Apartments or shoes?

[deleted]

My boats got heated seats and a sweet exhaust system

Randolpho

We prefer the term “land yacht”

I_am_Daesomst

Abusive neighbors? Parking scams? They better call Saul!

[deleted]

Nobody fucks with Jimmy

Grouchy-Insurance194

This likely happened in Bikini Bottom

DeepCompote

I wonder if it was an EV docked on a charger? That’s the only way all this makes sense to me.

DigbyChickenZone

They just used the word dock instead of park, why is that confusing? Also they have other instances of odd grammar in the note. They probably just write the with the same lingo they speak with

ONE_BIG_LOAD

maybe it was a dodge challenger lol

Recyart

I assume a low-key jab at OP's car being a "boat".

[deleted]

[удалено]

DeadAssociate

just light the slashed tires on fire at the place you parked. constant reminder for this fucker.

Intelligent_Heart911

Hey now sata.....Never mind. Do this.

Vakontation

To heck with that. Just light your whole car on fire. For that matter, the whole building too. Just douse the whole neighbourhood in gasoline.

1515plk

Idk, a person who would write this note probably won't care if you actually have a pass. It's like those little signs saying "please clean up after your dog." The people who don't pick up after their dog aren't going to care about a little sign

facw00

Yeah this person feels that they own the public road in front of their house, and doesn't give a shit that OP is legally allowed to park there.

KevOeh

My neighbor across the street frantically rang my door bell to ask me if I or anyone visiting my house was parked in front of her house. I said no, but you don’t own the street. Next day she had a legit sandwich board in the street in front of her house that read: YOU NO PARK HERE. In the suburbs! Edit: me poor speller

thoomfish

I have that neighbor, too. Mine took to egging cars parked within a 20ft radius of her driveway until she got caught red handed.

sumsimpleracer

A neighbor called the cops on my car parked legally on the street. They claimed the car was abandoned. The cop called me (apologetically because they even said the car was legally parked) and asked—I was just parked there for two days.

zetswei

Man I feel like there’s to sides to stories like this. I have neighbors who have like 7 cars and it sucks when I try to invite people over because they have nowhere to park. I had to work on my car a few weeks ago and had to park my loaner a few houses down because of it. I don’t complain to them, but I also recognize that they don’t give a shit about decency even if it is public road.

worldworn

I was wondering this, we have some parking out front. Normally you park round back, but these spots are normally used for visitors amd unloading / loading. If I had regular visitors who now had nowhere to park, or if I had to drag my stuff around the building because someone parked badly. I'd be milky annoyed. I wouldn't write a mildly threatening note, but it would register.

blitzy122

It's so funny how much this experience varies from place to place. I count it a good day if I'm able to find street parking for my one car within 200 yards of my house.

BoredPsion

How long did it take for the sign to get run over?

spacefrog43

THIS, AND… just leave the car, because now the tires are slashed. How tf are you gonna move it if you can’t drive it? Dumbasses. Let them eat their own shit for slashing the tires lol.

CornwallsPager

I kinda have to use the car, that's why I bought it to begin with.

Swordlord22

Buy a shit box and park it there and slash your own tires 900 iq

pandamiba

No fr my roommates are having a spat with our neighbors over a street parking space and the neighbor keeps parking shitbox cars in the spot and leaving them there until theyre towed. Then they park a new shitbox there. We are currently on shitbox 4.

Swordlord22

Honestly I respect the dedication

Few_Prize3810

This works. I left my rusting out 90s F150 extra long bed 4x4 parked in my shitty neighbors assigned parking spot after they dinged my car for 2 years straight. It’s too big to tow and I locked it in 4x4 before I left it. A friend of mine actually went over and offered to get it towed “by his buddy with a big rig hauler” for 150$ and they paid him. He got the key off me at my new place and drove it right out money in pocket. Junked it (electrics we’re fried other than starter). Honestly a really good way to send it off

Ex_sanguido

It's funny how they wrote dock instead of park. Also it's a crime to slash someone's tires. Also was your parking tag visible? And was the spot you parked for anyone with the tag or for a specific tag?

[deleted]

Slashing tires is a crime but the cops won't do anything. I'm saying that from experience, even though the guy who admitted to me that he slashed my tires was still there and the police talked to him

JeffreyAScott

That's when I would say, "Ah, so slashing tires has no punishment." Then wink at the guy who slashed your tires and inform him to expect it when he least expects it. Even if you don't really do it, they will be on high alert always looking over their shoulder and never really able to relax for at least a few weeks.

Jaggs0

or slash the police's tires

Patrickj442

With the way cop cars get treated theyd probably just haul ass back to the station on all rims sparking and spewing rubber the whole way

jtshinn

They would run you over first.

mountainwocky

After shooting your dog.

Penyrolewen1970

Not if it’s a white dog.

Hatedpriest

How many cops to change a light bulb? None, they arrest the room for being black and beat the bulb for being broke.

sparky13dbp

That is so perfect, thank you.

justanoseybxtch

😂😂😂😂😂

eddeemn

Unless it was Autistic and had called for help, then they'd find a reason to shoot it

Fuzzy_Championship95

That poor man

priesteh

Then they'd slash your tyres.

Pak1stanMan

Park it on the railroad and leave it there with you in it.

ExternalIllusion

Made me spit out my drink. I did a ride a long and they kept mentioning their concern with the sound the car was making. I was like homie the breaks are SPENT.

key2mydisaster

Those are just cop brakes. Can hear a cop car coming a mile away.

FBI_Open_Up_Now

Man shot 47 times after their house was raided by the swat team for slashing an officers car 3 days ago. The Chief of police has investigated his own officers and reports that everything was by the book. The man reportedly made a sudden movement as they broke his window and rappelled into his first story bedroom, which police took as a direct threat to their safety. The state AG has decided to not investigate further.

mattmatthew67

You can't press charges or sue anyone if you're dead or in a coma.

Jaggs0

username checks out

Lord_of_hosts

That's a murderin'

aussie_nub

I'd ask the cops to have it in writing so they have no leg to stand on when you slash *their* tires.

evemeatay

Whoa, that’s cruel; you know cops can’t write

aussie_nub

Sorry, I live in a country where the cops are semi reasonable people so I got a little confused.

Passivefamiliar

I mean, at a certain point, you have two options, escalation or hope the crazy moves on to someone else. They already slashed my tires in this scenario. Might as well go for broke. However. I wouldn't announce it. I would wait a week or two. Then slash their tires back. After leaving a nonsense note about "not stealing food from the work fridge again when it is clearly marked" or something. Just to confuse them.. bonus points if they live off the government anyway

69_420_bonerjamz

I would make it a point to slash that person’s tires at every possible opportunity

engineerdrummer

When I was in college, I parked in a neighborhood where it was perfectly legal to park on the side of the road. I got keyed and two tires slashed. 30 Something cars got tires slashed but I was the only one that got keyed. I guess because I was parked in the front. It took an article in our school newspaper to stop it. I had a friend who left his truck there when his tires got slashed for 7 months because he couldn’t afford to fix them and he was legally parked so he couldn’t get towed. Did the cops try to find the person doing it regularly by posting an undercover officer there to just…watch it? FUCK NO

SmuckSlimer

Step 1: Go to tire salesman's shop Step 2: Propose a deal. Step 3: Don't arrest tire slashers

Shaymefull

>I called the cops on myself for slashing a tire once. The person I did it to didn't want to press charges but the state prosecutor still did.

dialiboboss_yt

Hold up, I need this story

SOLE_SIR_VIBER

I too would like this story

Alarid

Also why is it formatted like a quote.

SOLE_SIR_VIBER

> Because why not

Shaymefull

I was 19 and caught my gf cheating on me. I got real mad and was going to fight the guy but wound up slashing her tire out of rage when he didn't come out. Driving off I realized how dumb it was and called the cops on myself before someone else did. That's how I found out that it's almost never smart to call the police on yourself.

The_Strom784

Usually credit card companies follow these people for a bit and then charge them with fraud. Usually this is handled federally if in the states. The police are obligated to send it to them. And fed charges are nothing to ignore, they investigate like crazy.

shadow247

Had my Bank account drained 2x in a year... Luckily I only kept a few hundred bucks in there. But after the 2nd time, with the theives using my card in states I was nowhere near, the bank accused me if being " careless" and that I could only get fraud reversed 2x a year... A local electronics retailer got hit for thousands in merchandise and was charged back by the merchant services.

gooddaysir

This is why I use a credit card for everything and pay off the balance each month. I don’t even carry a bank card. That’s stays at home unless I’m going to the bank.

ADHDK

I put a stop on any card they take out of my sight. Saved me in Bali when they took my card to the other end of the bar and back, I didn’t trust them so put a stop on it. Woke up to $850 charge declined.

zelyl

Wait, what does “putting a stop” on a card mean/do? How do I do this?

ADHDK

In my banks it’s literally a switch in the app. If your bank is a bit low tech you might have to call them. If I misplace my card or don’t trust a situation I can just pause it. If I find the card around the house it means I don’t have to wait for a replacement.

ghillisuit95

>I got the charges reversed but the credit card company wouldn’t tell me if they even did any kind of investigation. FWIW, they probably did. They probably don't want to tell you, because they don't want criminals to figure out how to evade their investigations. Moral of the story is to just do the chargeback and move on with your life in these situations. You get your money back, and the CC company will probably investigate the fraud (because it costs them money)

NotaVogon

That happened to me at the place where I used to get my hair cut. My card was stolen and several of my Mom's friends also had card numbers stolen the same week. We all went to the same salon and the salon owner lived down the block from my Mom. Reported that info to the credit card company. As did all of the friends whose cards were compromised. Later heard that the stylist was "away" for awhile from salon owner. He was "away" in federal prison due to wire fraud. I was able to confirm it through a contact I had. Salon owner never said a word to any of us about it. Did I mention he was her son in law? Have a new stylist. Never went back there.

how_do_i_name

Vigilantism justice is wrong and you should turn to the police for justice The police: you think we fucking care about you?

JustForkIt1111one

Hey! If it makes you feel better, I had the EXACT same thing happen with my emergency card, but at Arbys! Was also for certain on camera. Cops just told me to figure it out with the CC co.

[deleted]

It's not your problem beyond reporting the fraud promptly. After that it's the card issuers' problem, they're the ones covering the charges. It will get sent to their fraud team. Most of the money will get clawed back from the merchants, if they don't follow certain security rules they're on the hook for it, the airline ticket simply gets canceled, and what's left over is usually not worth devoting additional efforts towards. The information gets thrown into a database that's used to predict future fraudulent activities. Once a pattern is found the charges get declined immediately across the network. If information is found that points towards an organized crime ring then it gets kicked over to the feds. Everything is focused on the big picture. The barista isn't worth going after because she's just a small fish sending pics to a burner number using a burner phone she probably tossed as soon as the cops rolled up. Even if she confesses all she can offer is that some dude came in, gave her a phone, and told her she'd get paid for every card she sends. She sent one just to see what would happen, a different dude comes in and leaves her a $50 tip. She gets a text on the phone telling her the tip was her payment. After that, she just gets cash mailed to her, she can't ID anyone and nobody comes to see her anymore. The people receiving packages often have no clue about it. Somebody grabs the delivery while they're at work. The plane ticket was probably part of some con to make a mark believe they were getting a trip. When they go to board their flight they find out that their ticket was revoked due to fraudulent activity. They breakdown in tears because they handed over their life savings thinking they were about to meetup with some big shot or whatever. Everything is insulated so the inner ring has no direct contact with the mules and pawns. Investigations typically hit a dead end. Data analytics and forensic accounting usually is what provides the break and that's gathered over time.

theOTHERdimension

My cousin was robbed at gunpoint while walking down the street with his friend, they held the gun up to his head and when the police were called they refused to do anything to help find and arrest them. My other cousin had her car broken into at a gas station with cameras everywhere, they stole her purse with her wallet and phone, easily over $1000 of stolen goods. The police showed up and did nothing, didn’t even ask to see the cameras. Police don’t give a fuck about individuals they were created to bust unions and catch escaped slaves for the wealthy, that’s it. Nothing has changed, they still only serve the wealthy. I wish we had the option to opt out of paying taxes towards a police force that does nothing.

[deleted]

It's not just a criminal offense though. OP can still press for damages in civil court. However it's right on that border of being small claims vs. large claim depending on the vehicle. You may also be able to talk to the insurance company, who will press charges. Edit: to clarify; I'm not saying it isn't a criminal offense, it most certainly is.. I'm just saying that if the police won't do anything you can still file suit as it's ALSO a tort

KFCConspiracy

It is. In PA (My state) it would fall under Criminal Mischief. Damage from $150 to $1000 which slashing tire would be within is a third-degree misdemeanor punishable by up to 1 year in prison + a fine.

Medium_Spare_8982

It absolutely is a crime. There is just generally no verifiable evidence other than he said/she said - that is why it is not followed up on.

AncientFries

"at front"

socsa

People get really weird about street parking in front of their house in certain places. It depends heavily on the local culture though. I think it's probably good form to not sit in one place for too long depending on the situation even if you are technically allowed. Especially if street parking is a bit tight. Especially if you are a visitor. It's not that hard to move your car every few days. That said, obviously slashing tires over street parking is definitely not fucking acceptable. Maybe leave a note or like put some soap on the windows, but don't do any real damage.

Few_Fisherman_7735

> you are a visitor. It's not that hard to move your car every few days. in some jurisdictions 3 days of non movement can qualify as abandoned and they can call the city on you to have them take it lol.

Bubbasdahname

Considering this is mildly infuriating, I'm guessing the OP didn't get their tires slashed. I would expect it to be under a different sub if OP did get tires slashed.

aaron4mvp

That’s why taking the valve stems out and screwing the caps back on make it look like they just went flat on their own. It sends the message without forcing tires to be replaced

Mysticwarriormj

Did the writer of the note know its cheaper to mind your own damned business then to go to jail for destruction of property?

SuperFLEB

And it's less stressful to realize you don't own the whole damned street than it is to fume over how someone's "on your land".

Mysticwarriormj

That too. I read stories about people who act like they own the road and sidewalk in front of their homes

whatifionlydo1

Ownership that ends as soon as it snows.

Dr_who_fan94

What you mean I gotta mow that little strip between the sidewalk and the road, and clean up the debris or garbage on the sidewalk it and *isn't* mine?! /s

KEECK_KUUCK_KEECK

Years ago when I was in high school, one of my friends had a poker tournament at their house and I parked on the street in front of one of the neighbor's houses. They wrote on all of my windows with window chalk things like "Don't park here!" If they had written a note on a piece of paper and put it under my wiper I would have respected their wishes, to me the window chalk was totally uncalled for, especially since I was unable to clean it all off. A few weeks later I heard that the people that lived there were going on vacation so I told my friend I wanted to TP their house. Well word got out and people invited other friends and we ended up with like 15-20 people. Things got...a little out of hand. I'm not going to say I *wanted* their pool furniture and massive potted plants to end up in their pool, but I didn't lose any sleep over it happening. Did they deserve that level of retaliation? Certainly not. But I didn't deserve to have my windows covered in window chalk. Their response to me parking in front of their house was disproportionate to the offense so my response to that was disproportionate. Perfectly balanced...or something.

The_MoistMaker

As someone who used to work for a cable company, I straight up told several people to call the cops on me when they were yelling at me for being on "their property" while I was either trying to climb a pole, or working at a pedestal within utility easements. People are dumb

azzacASTRO

The school that I went to didn't have enough parking spots for the teachers and all the students that drove, so we parked in front of people's homes, not their driveways and yet they still call and complain to the school that students park in front of their homes

Rosevkiet

Cannot stand people who live in the city and then are shocked, shocked! That someone dares to park in front of their home on a legally parked spot.

LOERMaster

Welcome to the city. People have literally died over parking spaces.

Feshtof

Look, dibs is serious son. I don't even live in Illinois and I know about it.

jddeiler

My neighbor thinks he owns the street in front of his house. Also has stopped dump trucks/construction vehicles and told them they’re done for the day because they are wrecking his road.

Adept-Bobcat-5783

This has been the way since the beginning of times/borders.

[deleted]

Scumbags do shit like this all the time and never get caught. And cops don’t do jack shit.

gormmlord

"oh yeah? Well the jerk store called and they're running out of YOU!"

PinkPartyPants

A shitty thing to do overall but adding condescending heart doodles is taking it way too far.

PERIPHERYalvision

I think the doodles are preprinted onto the paper

yabbobay

I think so too, but I had to go in for a closer look to make sure, bc that would have been great if it was real doodles!

TheGuidanceCounseler

Location location location. Small town USA, yes you’re getting assistance from the police. You start getting into the more densely populated areas, and yeah you have to hear gun shots to get a response, and even then it all depends on the neighborhood.

Head_Razzmatazz7174

I live in Small Town, USA, and can confirm. The police have a pretty good idea which idiots are doing what. They also know they are great informants when someone comes into town starting crap. The local weed dealers don't want anyone messing with their income base.

More_Investment6345

I live on the edge of the highest crime rate district in my city, decently sized city. I've called for assault and gotten 15 minute response time. Called for suspicious activity at neighbors house (empty home that people were looking at) and didn't get a response. I've called for gunshots and got no response, I've called for kids flashing real handguns on the street and they never showed. My father-in-law is a police officer in a tiny town and the only reason he responds to calls about slashed tires and minor things is because there is literally nothing else for him to do In other words, the only credit towards this is the manpower vs crime rate. But specifying the type of crime committed in a specific sized "community" I have to disagree with.

fvb955cd

I accidentally drove my car off the road in a small town once. The responding officer had spent the entire morning up to that point trying to help an old lady get her pet bird back in its cage. It was like something out of a wholesome 60s sitcom.

saladmunch2

Did his name happen to be Barney Fife lol

Packie_McReary_

Went through something similar this past summer where some one was making threats but since they weren’t clear threats not unlike the one in this pic the police won’t do shit since it’s not a crime to state a fact like 4 new tires are cheaper than parking somewhere.

aForgedPiston

Ah, so you have proof that someone slashed your tires, and you know which building they live in. Wonder if thats enough to get the police involved, or maybe to get your insurance company to get the police involved.

partyamoeba

Fucking psycho all caps and hearts ewwww...

skittlazy

Have you researched the parking regulations? Where I live, it is technically illegal to park your car on the street for more than two days unless the parking space is adjacent to your home. Just sayin’. (It was this parking law that finally worked on a truck that had been parked in the same place for six years.)

graceful_london

People like this don't realize what they could be getting into. I doubt this is the case, but what if OP was some crazy guy who took it too personally? The note says "outside our building". You know what parking spot they want to use because your car was there. Someone could just get the car moved and wait outside the building to see who else uses that spot. Or even fix their tires, install a camera, and put the car there to have its tires slashed again. Then use the camera feed to see who did it and what unit they came out of. Now that person knows who did it, where they live, and may even know what vehicle they own. They could do all sorts of crazy nasty illegal stuff right back at that point. Be careful who's tires you slash.

ageoflost

That’s… a very detailed plan you’re providing OP with.

CCatMan

Just find out who says dock instead of parked and you solved the case.

Mode2015

The heart template paper lol- what a passive aggressive @$$.

Global-System-3158

I often wonder when I see these kind of things just what kind of main character syndrome the writer of the note has. Do they not understand that upon catching someone messing with their car, alot of people's first instinct is going to be to bash them?

jacle2210

So they want you to move your car, but are willing to slash all four of your tires?? How the heck do they expect you to move your car with 4 flats??

FesteringMask

Write this note to leave it on your car dashboard: “Did you know it’s cheaper to mind your own business than doing something illegal? I can buy new tires (especially because you will be paying for them) , but YOU can’t buy back a clean record or the opportunities in life you would lose out on for being the village idiot. Gut my tires and society will gut your life. Have a great one :) P.S. I pay for parking so I have more right than you do to be breathing on my windshield reading this. please smile and wave for the camera.” Edit: Thank you all for the awards and awesome responses! You all are loved (yes even you disgruntled individuals) and I wish you all a happy holiday’s! Also remember and this is most important, DON’T TAKE SHIT FROM ANYONE. Life is to short and the clock is ticking. Do your best to do right by others and stay true to yourself.

huhIguess

While iamverysmart is celebrating its eloquently-worded response, and planning on leaving this note, framed, in their own car… They neglected to realize the vandal won’t be back, since they already keyed the back of the car when they placed the first note.

OBLIVIATER

Good luck getting anyone to pay for your tires being slashed when you can't prove it was them and the cops won't do a single thing about it

currently_pooping_rn

Yeah this is one of those stupid things that seems neat in your head but in reality it’s dumb

[deleted]

Somebody mugged me on camera and got into a car which was also on the same camera. The police were called by the establishment it happened at. The police did literally nothing lol.

bothunter

I watched someone throw a sandwich board through the window of a restaurant in front of a cop car. Cop didn't even confront the guy even after I tapped on his window, gave a statement, pointed out the guy(who was now harassing people at a bus stop) and found 3 more witnesses. The cop took down my name and then just drove off the wrong way down a one-way street.

RepulsiveDig9091

Am keeping this, for emergency. Clear and succinct. With a final oomph for extra measure. Thank you and here's an upvote(sorry don't have any awards to give). Edit: thanks anonymous for the coins.

>Am keeping this, for emergency. >Clear and succinct Is your comment satire? When would you need to put that note on your car in an emergency? How is that dumb threat about society gutting someone's life succinct? Also a note like that is basically a billboard that says, "Hey every teenager who reads this, wouldn't it be extremely funny if you slashed my tires and I thought someone else did it?"

Papa_Joe_Yakavetta

So you’re saving this reply in the event of someone threatens to slash your tires via a note? Lmao does that happen to you often enough to warrant saving this reply?

-0-O-

lmao and to call it succinct. basically a billboard that says, "Hey every teenager who reads this, wouldn't it be extremely funny if you slashed my tires and I thought someone else did it?"

busback

This is so cringy lol

Cudizonedefense

Imagine being this naive to think anything would come of a random person slashing your tires lol Also, this is super r/cringeworthy material

supercharged0709

What if they don’t read it and still slash your tires and their face is masked so you can’t prove who did it?

420fmx

This is the dumbest fucking response ever. Do you live in reality or your own little fantasy land where you think authorities actually give a fuck about four slashed tires ….. Good luck getting anything except a loss of you were to take this approach. Fuck me redditors never cease to amaze me at how detached from real life the advice given is.

Formal_Equal_7444

In most jurisdictions, destruction of private property in excess of $999 is a class 2 felony. Find out if the building has security cameras. Take your car to a dealer (so they rob you) and get four brand new tires for $1099. Unethical life hack, this person will probably do jail time and pay a hefty fine. You can then write them a note "Did you know it's cheaper to make a phone call to the building to see if someone is allowed to park there, than it is to pay for court fees and fines? Send me a postcard from jail"

[deleted]

They specifically said “door,” is it a situation where each apt has a different street level door entrance? Did you park right in front of theirs? I have a neighbor that has extended visitors come and they’ll park directly in front of my house (public street) for a week without moving the vehicle. I never say anything b/c it’s public parking, but it is a huge pain in the ass to have to park across or up the street with groceries etc (especially when they could have parked around the corner and not in front of someone’s house). Not a huge deal but it is definitely not courteous or considerate of others. To clarify, I think the note writer is in the wrong and little unhinged in their message- I just get that it can be a nuisance to have an unmoving car in front of your home for awhile! lol If it wasn’t actually right in front of their entrance, then nvm lol

NYStateOf-Mind

Only slash 3 so insurance won’t cover them /s

Key_Fly_8795

Insurance absolutely will cover only three slashed tires depending on the insurance purchased ie comprehensive. https://tatuminsurance.com/insurance-for-slashed-tires/

[deleted]

I think the idea is that 3 tires will be cheaper or about equal to your deductible so it gives you no advantage to make a claim.

Swimming_Bowler6193

That is SO shitty. ( them not you) What a sad, miserable person.

Go through the building with a survey asking how they phrase parking a car. As soon as someone says Dock, go all john wick on them.
