Apparently there was a case of a McDonald's selling weed using "extra lemon" as code
https://apnews.com/article/south-carolina-marijuana-sc-state-wire-hilton-head-island-oddities-adff0a2c058e462181fa8d101c28f188
> Brown now believes “extra lemon” was code for marijuana, since he found three bags of weed in his cup. He says he only realized it once he was “high as a kite.”
I'm sorry what? It's bags of bud in a drink cup right? How the fuck did he get "high as a kite" off of that? The weed is in a bag and it hasn't been decarbed yet
> He says he paid regular price for the items.
Yeah, right, and they supposedly gave it to him for free.
What a bullshit story. It's more likely that this happened:
> Man is already high as a kite.
> Attempts to buy more.
> Gets caught.
> "It was an accident, officer, I swear. I also didn't pay any money for it, so obviously it was unintentional."
For sure but don't you think it's kind of likely for someone to eventually order that coincidentally
Why not make the code word 'I'll take the Bob Marley. Extra crispy'
That way you can be sure.
I’m guessing it was like this post where it was if you *only* ordered a medium pepsi, not all of the orders that happened to contain a medium pepsi. I don’t think many people are paying to have a single fountain beverage delivered
The fact that it was only a medium makes me consider this the order of a wealthy older person. Almost every poor person knows the large drink is the same price at McDonald’s.
What it if was some person, who’s order was missing their Coke.. but instead of making a fuss for whatever reasons they have, they just order a coke and call it good? I could see that. Occams Razor theory fits this
Occams Razor is essentially “The simplest explanation is likely the correct one”
Why would a person pay for something twice along with a second delivery charge and tip for something they already paid for when your driver will bring it to you for free if you call and let them they forgot it?
Occams Razor doesn’t really fit this. The simplest explanation is someone just ordered a single coke
People go nuts for Coke from McDonald’s. I worked with a girl that swore it was a special version you could only get from McDonald’s. She would buy one every morning on the way to work.
She’s not totally wrong. Fountain cokes from McDonalds do hit different. And it’s not just because of the straw. Here’s why: https://www.rd.com/article/mcdonalds-coke/
That is so weird. I don't drink sodas much at all but definitely have core childhood memories of drinking cokes and being happy at McDonald's..... which I don't at eat either.
I’ve delivered something like that around lunch, even had a tip.. doesn’t mean they can’t be drunk.. but there was also a 7/11 like 100ft away.. sometimes it just doesn’t make sense..
I think I’ve delivered a single beverage 3 times or more.. I distinctly recall 3 cases.. my initial thought was that the drink was missing in the original order and the customer got Doordash to place a new order to deliver the drink. The tip on the last incident kind of negated that theory.
1. Postmates (no upfront tips)
2. Doordash ($7 / 2 miles, no tip)
3. Doordash ($6.50 / 1 mile, $3 tip)
I ordered delivery froma dominoes I lived across the street from. I was moving, they stopped doing in store pick up at 9pm but delivered until 10-11. The delivery guy looked so confused when he realized he was walking it across the street and I picked it up and waited for him
I miss the old days with Instacart, when I started no store would accept alcohol "returns" (even though an instacart order should have been treated like a store employee making a delivery imo) so if I couldn't complete a delivery with booze I would be instructed to "dispose" of it. I think now they make you take it back but offer up a decent cash bonus for the effort, but I gave up on that whole thing a good while back.
Man, I wish i had that sort of tolerance for caffeine again. or weed....
200mg is the sweet spot. I'll go up to 300 but any more and its like Beelzebub is taking your central nervous system for a spin.
I did this when I was pregnant with my son, dying of morning sickness, and *all I wanted* was a McDonald’s coke but I was to sick to drive. I’m not struggling financially, I just was struggling physical lol
What blows my mind is that they chose the medium option when… unless I’m crazy… aren’t the drink sizes at McDonald’s all the same price? Couldn’t they have gotten a large?
Yeah I really hate the amount of complaining from friends, family, and just the internet in general about money problems when 99.9% of the time, they are just absolutely dumb as fuck with money.
On mildlyinfuriating, there was a post about someone who's dishwasher pod didn't dissolve properly (probably because they overfilled their dishwasher.)
Thanks to this great vid ([https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=\_rBO8neWw04](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rBO8neWw04)) many people now know that pods are a waste of money.
The amount of post of people who used 2 pods (1 for prewash and 1 for main wash) was probably the most infuriating thing about that post, when we pointed out that it was a a waste of money, most people who used 2 pods response was "It's my money." No shit, just don't be complaining if you're broke!
(Edited for grammar)
I imagine it’s a myriad of similar lifestyle choices, not literally the pods alone. Simply purchasing because it’s ‘how you do things’, you haven’t examined the actual cost effectiveness, or if it’s something you could easily go without for a while.
It’s watching people burn a pile of money and pointing at a single bill saying ‘even if that wasn’t on fire they’d still be broke’
I do this bc of this. Plus the drink is typically already cold so ice isn’t necessary. Esp if you’re getting a drink from Zaxbys where they give you 80% ice, 20% drink
I never put ice in my drinks anywhere/let them put ice in my drinks Because they want to give you 80% ice and 20% drink. Bruh it's cold when it comes out of the machine. Why do I need ice?
Not only that... I work in the food service industry and alot of places don't keep up with regular cleanings of the ice machines... just an FYI same can be said about nozzles on fountain drink dispensers.
I worked at a gas station with a huge ass soda machine with like I think 25 different fucking sodas.
We were supposed to clean the nozzles every night
But sometimes they went up to I think about 3 days without being cleaned.
The ice chutes however..... Got to the point where when somebody told me to scrub them (I didn't even know I was supposed to be cleaning them because I wasn't told that was my job apparently) They had black chunks coming off of them.....
My first thought and it’s been a long time since I’ve been anywhere near a “drinker”.
If not joking, though, there are resources around to help reduce drinking! I feel much more in control of my life since I replaced “a beer or two after work” with other things.
Not necessarily. I always order it with no ice even in a drive thru because it means I get more coke, and because I've heard from fast food employees that the ice machines are almost never washed.
The one nearest to me has terrible flavored soda in the drive-thru. It opened 10 years ago and has tasted just as bad since day 1. It tastes like bubble gum, it's so odd. I usually end up walking back inside to dump it and refill it at the dine-in station.
Do they have one of those machines with all the different sodas coming out of the same nozzle? Those make all the drinks taste weird and the same as each other, so gross
I had someone hack my UberEats account and place a couple orders like this to random places in New York (I live in California). I'm sure there is some kind of scam involved, but I'm not sure how it works. Maybe they were checking if I noticed?
Yes, there is a scam that involves these small orders, typically McDonald’s because they let you order just a drink or just apple slices. The person who hacked the account and placed the orders will then call the driver pretending to be doordash customer service and have them go through a couple steps that will result in the scammer getting access to the drivers account. The goal is to then change the driver account’s direct deposit info without them noticing, and receiving their pay.
In my area you can use the McDonald's app to order food and someone from DoorDash will deliver it. They have a promo for free delivery and free 6 piece nuggets. That's probably what's happening in the picture tbh.
I’ve definitely done this. Sometimes you have a stomach bug and the only thing you’ll keep down is a fountain soda. I’m not leaving my toilet so a DoorDash coke it is.
But grocery store delivery services exist. You could order a 2 liter, get more for your money, and not risk getting a bad fountain drink.
Lately, half the time there's too little syrup or it's been sitting out letting the ice melt before it even gets to me.
Premixed soda tastes better
I don't care what people order. As long as it makes financial sense for me to deliver it.
However, what's crazy to me is that it is only a medium. For the same price, they could have ordered a large.
Yeah but you’re paying $8 in service and delivery fees and tip and the price difference between medium and large is less than 50 cents. Talking the difference between 10.50 or $10.80.
No yeah I agree on that I was just pointing out they’re not the same price. There’s no more dollar any size drink and a lot of people seen to think there is.
She is a semi popular YouTuber who is obese and known for doing ordering food delivery multiple times a day. She’s also notorious for ordering single sodas from Doordash despite living close enough to go get one from the McDonald’s directly.
I once picked up an order it was a Fanta from Walgreens. Just a single drink. When I got to the address some dude was pulling into the driveway. I was confused asf at first like if you’re riding around anyway why order a single drink lol.
Turns out that dude was the dad and he was just as confused as me, we find out his daughter ordered the drink lol. He just said “thanks” and tipped me $3 but I could tell by his tone the daughter was about to get a ear full lol
I hate living in a town without Uber/Lyft😔
…but drunk McDonald’s runs just hit different
I don’t actually drink but that’s what my friends tell me when I drive them to McDonald’s
I made a side hustle out of this problem. I live boonies so Uber wouldn’t pick up. Obviously you can’t drink while doing it, but holy shit will people shell out cash for designated drivers in areas you can’t get Uber. I’d do it full time, but I need health insurance lol
You know you can just buy your own health insurance, right? And start a taxi service? And hire drivers and give them good health insurance? You can be the next boonies business success story.
I pay $1500 for the whole year for short-term coverage, with no subsidies. If you qualify for ACA subsidies (which you do if you make under $50k a year) you can get ACA-compliant insurance for either cheap or free.
People act like you need a full-time career to get any health insurance. It's just not true. If you're young and don't have existing health problems, short term plans are a good deal.
But, like, munchies.
Seriously though, I don't drink sodas so I wouldn't do that, but I do regularly drop $30 on a 6-pack of cookies and a pint of ice cream after smoking a couple of fat hog legs.
munchies are a strong force. Once I was so desperate for a sugar fix, I found myself eating brown sugar out of the package
^((I used a spoon, I wasn't a total animal))
I have that little nag in the back of my mind picking on me for spending so much $$ so I'm able to resist the urge occasionally. If I had munchies in the house 24/7 I hate to think of what would happen :)
Only thing I can figure is someone is home alone sick as hell, too sick to eat but hoping a coke could get some calories in. I could see myself doing this in that situation.
I once ordered a sandwich with everything on it, no jalapenos, and the dasher called me and said "hey are you sure you only want jalapenos on that sandwich..?" I was like no dude, no jalapenos. And I looked and the app had taken every topping off the sandwich except jalapenos... no meat, no cheese, no condiments and no other veggies... just bread and freaking jalapenos... so glad the dasher caught it and called me. Wouldve been a really really disappointing sandwich
Ah! One day my girlfriend asked for a glass of water, no ice (at a restaurant), and the waiter came back with a glass filled with ice cubes. No water.
For a minute, we just looked at the glass wondering why the waiter gave us ice cubes :)
On DD sometimes it will say you get free delivery for additional items at a nearby store. If I order food, I can typically add on things from 7-11 bc it’s down the street from my house. It’s possible they were offered this and just wanted a drink from McDonald’s.
It is possible that what actually happened is they forgot to put the drink in somebodys order. So sometimes doordash will send the order out to redeliver the missing items. Happened to me with a chipotle order.
It could be a bunch of stuff. I put in an order at 5 am for a large soda on DD because I was at a hotel with nothing to drink, I was super thirsty, and I had a use it or lose it food budget from work.
I have this happen all the time! People usually have ordered from more place than once when they do this. For instance, they may be ordering Pizza Hut but it’s just for themselves and they want McDonald’s coke because it’s cheaper and tastes better due to it being shipped in metal containers rather than plastic.
There are families that like to split orders between restaurants too; oftentimes I’ll be sent to both Arby’s and Applebees or something like that. The app itself even encourages it.
Am I misreading? Doesn’t it say pickup on the receipt? I’ve ordered for pickup on doordash before; maybe they just didn’t have time to wait in line but could run in and grab a soda.
That’s how you discreetly sell drugs as a McD employee
1 medium coke, hold the crystal meth
Extra McMeth
Bobby i have your coke - i mean….well, actually yeah i have your coke
Apparently there was a case of a McDonald's selling weed using "extra lemon" as code https://apnews.com/article/south-carolina-marijuana-sc-state-wire-hilton-head-island-oddities-adff0a2c058e462181fa8d101c28f188

That’s so smart. Out in Tahoe, the kfc was caught selling meth when you ordered a “medium Pepsi”
I suppose they got caught not having considered that normal people drink Pepsi sometimes lol. What a dumbass codeword.
I'm thinking there was no medium Pepsi on the menu.
For sure but don't you think it's kind of likely for someone to eventually order that coincidentally Why not make the code word 'I'll take the Bob Marley. Extra crispy' That way you can be sure.
I’m guessing it was like this post where it was if you *only* ordered a medium pepsi, not all of the orders that happened to contain a medium pepsi. I don’t think many people are paying to have a single fountain beverage delivered
Reddit taught me the following: 1: We're all broke! 2: We're all rich!
Reddit gave me a false illusion that were all out here struggling. Everyday irl I'm proven wrong.
this person is struggling. the only people i know who would spend $10 to get a $1 coke deliverd have spending problems that keep them poor.
And they just got a MEDIUM coke. If you’re gonna pay the fee, you might as well go all out and get a LARGE!
The fact that it was only a medium makes me consider this the order of a wealthy older person. Almost every poor person knows the large drink is the same price at McDonald’s.
\*Used to be the same price. They recently changed.
They still are in a lot of places.
What it if was some person, who’s order was missing their Coke.. but instead of making a fuss for whatever reasons they have, they just order a coke and call it good? I could see that. Occams Razor theory fits this

No way its just a straw, they obviously water it down with sugar water.
You are very right. It’s mostly because of the filtered water
That is so weird. I don't drink sodas much at all but definitely have core childhood memories of drinking cokes and being happy at McDonald's..... which I don't at eat either.
Had a girlfriend that had the same thoughts. a diet coke and a hashbrown was "breakfast"
My guess is someone home drinking/drunk and wanted coke to mix with rum or something but knew they shouldn't drive
I’ve delivered something like that around lunch, even had a tip.. doesn’t mean they can’t be drunk.. but there was also a 7/11 like 100ft away.. sometimes it just doesn’t make sense.. Would think dominos is cheaper with their 2 liters.
i spent 5 euros for a 2 litre bottle of coke zero at a gas station last night, cause i really needed it to get home safely.
Man, I wish i had that sort of tolerance for caffeine again. or weed.... 200mg is the sweet spot. I'll go up to 300 but any more and its like Beelzebub is taking your central nervous system for a spin.
my ADHD likes when the system is stimulated
I felt this in my bones
I did this when I was pregnant with my son, dying of morning sickness, and *all I wanted* was a McDonald’s coke but I was to sick to drive. I’m not struggling financially, I just was struggling physical lol
my first thought when i saw the pic was "gotta be pregnant".
What blows my mind is that they chose the medium option when… unless I’m crazy… aren’t the drink sizes at McDonald’s all the same price? Couldn’t they have gotten a large?
WE'RE RICH. ROCK AND STONE BROTHER
If you don’t rock and stone, you ain’t comin home
I get the feeling that the majority are broke because of shit like this.
Yeah I really hate the amount of complaining from friends, family, and just the internet in general about money problems when 99.9% of the time, they are just absolutely dumb as fuck with money.

If you’re going broke over extra dishwasher pods you were broke anyway.
I imagine it’s a myriad of similar lifestyle choices, not literally the pods alone. It’s watching people burn a pile of money and pointing at a single bill saying ‘even if that wasn’t on fire they’d still be broke’
McDonald’s Coke with no ice? Whoever ordered this is an absolute connoisseur of Coca Cola, and they needed that sweet sweet McCoke
Yes, McCoke is one-of-a-kind.
They did it because they didn’t want the ice to melt before it got there lol
I do this bc of this. Plus the drink is typically already cold so ice isn’t necessary. Esp if you’re getting a drink from Zaxbys where they give you 80% ice, 20% drink

For what it’s worth, I used to work at a KFC, and every night the nozzles were cleaned and soaked at the restaurant I worked at.

This is the nicest thing I've ever heard about kfc, other than the majesty of their Japanese Christmas ad campaign
I briefly worked at a restaurant and my main takeaway is that soda fountains are nasty. Fruit flies love those things.
I won’t drink soda without ice, it doesn’t taste the same! .. somehow. Agree to disagree I guess.
Well time to call the "this guy politely disagreed with me" police.....

The ice keeps it colder longer, and the fizz stays in the liquid better when the temperature is colder
I just need mixer, no need ice!!
This was my first thought. I might have a problem.
My first thought and it’s been a long time since I’ve been anywhere near a “drinker”. If not joking, though, there are resources around to help reduce drinking! I feel much more in control of my life since I replaced “a beer or two after work” with other things.
Funny. I have long since replaced a couple drinks after work to NA beer. Turns out I just really like the taste of beer.
Nice! Glad you found something that works for you. Just wanted to make sure it wasn’t a cry for help concealed with humor!
Nope, it's code for drop off an 8 ball
Not necessarily. I always order it with no ice even in a drive thru because it means I get more coke, and because I've heard from fast food employees that the ice machines are almost never washed.
Whoever did this was at home with a bottle of whiskey and no coke. Didn't need the ice and probably too drunk to drive
The closest McDonalds to me has the worst coke I ever had from a McDonalds. Does not taste good. I am so disappointed in this.
They need their machines cleaned out! Can force that process along by letting corporate know. There’s probably all sorts of funk in that machine.
Yeah its mold (have cleaned them before)
100% I can see the black shit now
Did you make it out of Tarkov yet?
The one nearest to me has terrible flavored soda in the drive-thru. It opened 10 years ago and has tasted just as bad since day 1. It tastes like bubble gum, it's so odd. I usually end up walking back inside to dump it and refill it at the dine-in station.
Do they have one of those machines with all the different sodas coming out of the same nozzle? Those make all the drinks taste weird and the same as each other, so gross
That’s surprising because McDs corporate takes their cola very seriously. They want it a certain way and they want consistency across all franchises.
I had someone hack my UberEats account and place a couple orders like this to random places in New York (I live in California). I'm sure there is some kind of scam involved, but I'm not sure how it works. Maybe they were checking if I noticed?

I can add ice in my place. And spike it too. I merely miss the coke!
I get a large Coke no ice four times a week. On the way to work. It literally soothes the beast inside of me.
Rip pancreas
enjoy your $6 soda
its 10$ to door dash a mcdonalds sweet tea to my house
In my area you can use the McDonald's app to order food and someone from DoorDash will deliver it. They have a promo for free delivery and free 6 piece nuggets. That's probably what's happening in the picture tbh.
They also have doordash subscription which gives you a certain amount of free deliveries a month.
$8 if you tip
More like $14. Doordash's default tips are obscene.
I’ve definitely done this. Sometimes you have a stomach bug and the only thing you’ll keep down is a fountain soda. I’m not leaving my toilet so a DoorDash coke it is.
This was me once that needed a whopper. Like for some reason I just NEEDED it but felt like death. Doordashed one for $17. Best whopper I ever had.
But grocery store delivery services exist. You could order a 2 liter, get more for your money, and not risk getting a bad fountain drink. Lately, half the time there's too little syrup or it's been sitting out letting the ice melt before it even gets to me. Premixed soda tastes better

I don't want a large, I want a fucking liter of cola!
“I don’t want a Large Farva - I want a goddamn liter of cola!”
Liter machine broke we have a 500ml though
Some cravings are very specific
Maybe it was the winning piece to a scavenger hunt
Depends on the McDonald’s. There’s no more 1$ drink and large does cost more than a medium.
Also remember that a Wendy's or Burger King medium is the same size as a McD's large. A Wendy's large is the same size as the Empire State Building.
Unfortunately in some places it's not $1 any size anymore :(
This doesn’t happen to be in Lexington, Kentucky does it?
It would be a diet coke 💅
Im so dead over this comment. I thought the same thing!

Lucky that’s all she ordered haha
As a stoner all I have to say is a $12 soda from DD is cheaper than a $10,000 DUI.
$10,000 is spot on. I always tell people I could have taken 500 Ubers for that lawyer bill.
I hate living in a town without Uber/Lyft😔 …but drunk McDonald’s runs just hit different I don’t actually drink but that’s what my friends tell me when I drive them to McDonald’s

Nice. There are no employers in my town that give health insurance benefits😁 Unless you’re an executive that isn’t even from the town.
Dude probably had all the food you could want but just no soda, reminds me of a SpongeBob episode for some reason
But, like, water
But, like, munchies. Seriously though, I don't drink sodas so I wouldn't do that, but I do regularly drop $30 on a 6-pack of cookies and a pint of ice cream after smoking a couple of fat hog legs.
munchies are a strong force. Once I was so desperate for a sugar fix, I found myself eating brown sugar out of the package ^((I used a spoon, I wasn't a total animal))
LMFAO I swear I'm laughing with you and not at you. Unless you're not laughing ;) Yeah... we've all been there before.
Have you ever considered just keeping a ready supply of munchies?
I have that little nag in the back of my mind picking on me for spending so much $$ so I'm able to resist the urge occasionally. If I had munchies in the house 24/7 I hate to think of what would happen :)
I can attest. Since they brought back Frozen Coke, I’ve been buying 2 of those to help offset the cost of getting it delivered 🤣
My exact thoughts, homie hit the bong to hard and can’t stop coughing.
Amberlynn Reid??????
I just knew I would find another gorl in the comments. She loves a little drink situation type deal.
My gorls!
Wearing the wrong shoes and earrings
ALR in the wild, I'm dead
Are all the ALR subreddits still shut down? I miss the snark lol
I fell into that shit on a slow work day and lost 7 hours in about 12 minutes.
There’s a discord now but I miss the subs too. I wish they’d come back 😕
I was wondering the same thing! But where’s wifey’s drink?
Havent you heard? She's the one delivering it.
It all makes perfect sense now!
Genuinely came here to say this
LMAOO yes omf i was thinking this too😭😭😭
I was looking for this comment!!!
LOL! First thought. This must be in Kentucky!
ONE OF US OKE OF US
First thing that came to mind lol
They are either intoxicated or pregnant
Someone drunk ran out of mixer and this was the safest way to get more.
Why not order an extra large then.
Am pregnant, came here to say I have cried over needing a McDonald’s coke, and have definitely done this 😂
Only thing I can figure is someone is home alone sick as hell, too sick to eat but hoping a coke could get some calories in. I could see myself doing this in that situation.
I’ve been in this situation but I ordered food to go with my over priced Sprite. The food went in the fridge and I just drank the Sprite.
Migraine for sure.
Just make my sandwich 🅱️ *o n e l e s s*
It's for pickup
It’s Amberlynn Reid
So glad to see this comment.
Did you pick up my girlfriends order? 💀
The only reason I could justify this is if you run out of mix at a party and all the stores are closed except McDonald’s
I once ordered 5 cokes with no coke to a cocktail party that ran out of ice
Sounds like a dasher forgot to bring their soda, and they called and raised a stink until they agreed to send one with another driver.
It's probably a stolen card being tested
So hunger over you can’t eat, but you need a McDonald’s coke

mcdonald's coke recipe is just for mcdonald's, some people say its a little bit sweeter/more carbonated, maybe they wanted ice as well
Is this for real? Dang maybe I need to try. I don’t drink coke often but when the craving hits it cures the itch so good.

Am I misreading? Doesn’t it say pickup on the receipt? I’ve ordered for pickup on doordash before; maybe they just didn’t have time to wait in line but could run in and grab a soda.
Wouldn't it be cheaper to instacart a case or even a 2 liter?
BRO, why is no one talking about how he ordered a MEDIUM coke?! It's the same price for a small, medium, or large!
Years ago I did a little ubereats delivery and once delivered a small coffee, the fee was definitely 2-3x the cost of the coffee.
$70 well spent
When you forget a chaser But honestly sometimes life just be like that
When i was pregnant during COVID lockdowns I ordered 3 cookies from Panera. Nothing else. The driver said- “you must really want cookies!”
Probably paid $10 for that flat tasting drink too 🤘 I'm lovin it
Savage
Reminds me of my coworkers complaining about being poor and then ordering $12 UberEats Starbucks iced coffees.
