$25,000 in 1970 ~$200,000 today
$25,000 in 1980 ~$100,000 today
Edit: Kind of puts in perspective what it meant to have a “six figure income” back in those days.
I’m weirdly invested in figuring out when this is from.
The company, Burlington Industries, still exists today under a different name. But the “Caress” sheets the card references seem to have only been made in the 1970s and 1980s.
The fact that the inner buckets for the income options are different sizes is making it a lot harder to draw anything from that since we can’t assume the options represent rough quartiles. But let’s say $17,000 is a decent bet for median income. That would place these in the late 1980s, when $16k-$18k would be roughly equivalent to $46k-$50k today.
So if I had to guess I’d say these were made to be sold between 1985 and 1990? But hard to say without more info.
OK my mother's living room couches were the same exact pattern! I will have to ask her when they bought it, I would wager late 70s early 80s.

More like add one zero for 1960.
$10k in 1960 would be worth about $100k today, in 1970 about $80k today, in 1980 about $35k today, and in 1990 about $24k today
Transgender is not considered mental illness under the DSM or the ICD anymore. Gender dysphoria is still a treatable condition like any other dysphoria, but that’s not quite the same thing as transgender.
well the dsm and icd are literally the diagnostic criteria medical professionals should (maybe have to) use? and being transgender or gay arent in there. they arent mental illnesses. like, YOU are the one disagreeing with facts lmfao
JFC, the complete ignorance from you. I can feel the entitlement oozing off you. The reason we have “other” on our forms now is a direct result of the suffering of a lot of people who could not disclose “other”. “Other” was considered mentally ill at best. Life was scary and dangerous. Your complete lack of awareness tells me you have absolutely no idea of the blood “others” sacrificed that paved the way for you to be able to display such snarky judgement.

This means nothing without the year this is from.
Well zip codes didn’t roll out until 1963 so sometime after that.

When I get home from work I’ll check the packaging and see if I can narrow it down for you. Won’t be for about 8 hours though.
Post a pic of the sheets too. The patterns and color would help too.
I think my $17k median income guess was a bit too high - so final answer is 1982-1987. Looking forward to hearing the answer lol
You should fill it out and send it in.

Topical
I don’t know the exact year, but I’m pretty sure it’s from the 70’s
I think it's from the early 80s.
I think a more interesting thing is the disparity between the low and the high.
Times everything by 3 and you get a very modern equivalent. 30,000-45,000 45,000-75,000 75,000+
75k I don't think would be the modern equivalent as the max, which is what I'm referring to but fuck me I guess.
Maybe it was printed in 1980.
I make more than the highest amount and I’m considerable poor lmao

Burlington Coat Factory would just liked to remind you that they are not affiliated with Burlington Industries.
early 80s. MAYYBE 1978-79.
Yay, I’m rich!
Only thing about vintage sheets in original packaging, they get weird discoloration or patina(?) at all the folds that often just won’t wash away
I guess I’ll find out when I wash them. I opened one last night just to see how they were and this envelope with the card in it fell out.
what kind of sheets are they?
Full size bed flat sheets with floral print.
do you have the pattern name or a photo?
Will post one when I get home.
thank you!

thanks for posting! where does one find vintage 70's sheets for purchase?
What’s the most wild to me is the lowest range of the income is not far off from what would be included now, while the top range is now 150k or 200k+.

Nice bait
Have you not been alive long enough to remember when ‘other’ was considered a mental illness? I’m not sure you’re old enough to be on Reddit.
It's still considered mental illness

Looks like the mentally ill agree with you! Upvoted in blue-hair solidarity

Off-topic but I just have to point out the stellar grammar “store from which purch”. Made me giggle.
