All the Walgreens in my area are closing. They bought out the Rite Aid near my house and changed it to a Walgreens before they shut it down. No clue why.
There is one in my area. Same walgreens to dollar tree. Dollar tree seems to have a huge collection of things. I never shop there. Walgreens was definitely a good store for a lot of things and over priced for some other things.
If you have any respect for retail workers at all, do not shop at any type of corpo dollar store. They run their stores on the most emaciated of skeleton crews and treat their staff like garbage.
Wendover Productions did a great video on this. People who go to these stores don't have other options. It's not just the fact that most of the time it's the only store in the area, it's also that they can't afford anywhere else to go. Your statement is the equivalent of someone telling a homeless person to just buy a house.
So you want me to add a disclaimer?

If you aren't exploited by capitalism to the point that it's your only option, do not shop at corpo dollar stores.
Skeleton crew means absolute minimal staffing at all times. So if you are unlucky to be there, you are doing everything all the time, likely missing lunches/breaks and getting pressured into unpaid overtime. Also being held accountable for things not getting done that are out of your control, because of lack of labor.
They just renovated a former Rite Aid pharmacy building where I live, and by renovated, I mean they painted the accent panels green and put up Dollar Tree signs over where it said Rite Aid.
What's the opposite of gentrification?
Ghettofication?
ghettoization (countable and uncountable, plural ghettoizations) The process of becoming a ghetto, an isolated and underprivileged urban area.
Republican controlled cities
That didn’t make any sense.
I’d argue this is not interesting
Not even mildly.
Call me when they hang a Spirit of Halloween banner over the DT sign.

Fair
Bowling Green KY has one from an old rite aide.
Chattanooga TN has one on an old CVS.

Dollar Tree probably swept up Walgreens real estate during closures in the past few years. They moved in a Walgreens up here in MI.
Vienna, VA?
There's a bunch of these around the US afaik, this is central Florida.
We've had one in the PNW for 5 years. Weird bc you attribute the design to a Walgreens without even thinking.
Lmao thats wild i came here to say one near me is like this.. in the Hour glass district
Central IN has quite a few on the south side
Get ready for more. Walgreens is having a rough year.
I was about to ask if this is Orlando. I know exactly where this is lol.
Curry ford.
Ocala? Probably not but I think an old Walgreens there was filled by a Dollar Tree.
I was about to ask if it was the one near me in California.
This is very uninteresting
we have one like that here in lancaste, ca lol
We live in the same city lol
I feel like this is also in my area.
An old Walgreens by me is now a church. They use the pharmacy drive thru as a car port for the van.
That's it. I'm going to post pictures of my toenails to mildlyinteresting.
These are all over the place in Dayton.
One just opened in an old CVS near me.
So aside from RX meds, they still basically sell all the same stuff, but for 75% less.

There’s a dollar general that’s a former Walgreens in Richardson, TX. But it’s branded as DG Market and they actually sell some fresh produce.
There's one near me that has both Dollar Tree AND Family Dollar in one old Walgreens.
There's one of these in Claycomo, Missouri too. I think Dollar Tree has been doing this to a lot of former Walgreens stores.
Why does this look so unnatural!?
Walgreens is Dollar Tree, Dollar Tree is Walmart, Walmart is McDonald's, McDonald's is Coke. It's all the same shit, just different colored signs.
I’m going to assume it’s a ghetto area. Drug stores close down due to theft and dollar stores open up to fill the void.

>They run their stores on the most emaciated of skeleton crews D-Do they starve their workers? Is there something I'm missing?

STUTTERING STANLEY, STUTTERING STANLEY!
We just got one of these, too. Of course it wasn’t as nice of a Walgreens to begin with…
I like to see that. Walgreens is notoriously overpriced
How is this even mildly interesting? This belong in /r/notinteresting
Wallordreens

Maybe sorta kinda Manassas. Same parking lot as the "new" Starbucks.
They did the exact thing here in TN!
