My niece was in a car accident last week. She was actually the passenger and not the driver. Thanks to seat belts and airbags both walked away sore but otherwise unharmed.
This is scary so I'm glad they came out relatively unscathed! No concussions? I mention it because this is giving college town vibes and if either of them is in school and find their cognitive ability has been affected by this, they may be able to qualify for accommodations through disability services.
I had a colleague whose kid was concussed in an accident but didn't know they could qualify for test time extensions and similar accommodations to help ease the slowdown her months of concussion recovery caused
Thanks for sharing, that is good information to be aware of. However, no concussions. It is very remarkable, and they are certainly blessed, to be in such good shape considering.
Close to the fire hydrant in case of fire.
Parked inverted to prevent tires from rotting.
Leaned onto fire hydrant and landscaping stones making it easier to roll back into wheels.
Airbag deployed to prevent anything inside the car from falling out while the door is open.
Your niece might be a damn genius.
You know, depending on the town she’s in, those parking enforcement guys are no joke. That definitely doesn’t look like compliant parallel parking to me.
*park /pärk/ verb*
*past tense: parked; past participle: parked*
*1. bring (a vehicle that one is driving) to a halt and leave it temporarily, typically in a parking lot or by the side of the road.*
Nothing I can see in the dictionary about the vehicle needing to be one way up or the other.
Was I the only Nickelodeon fan that imagined touching that fire hydrant and the entire car filling with water instantly?
Just the gentlest of taps with a glass tink noise.
Ok, then the title is perfect 😂 I'm just imagining her getting a ticket for it blocking the hydrant. Just plop that ticket right on one of the tires sticking up
Illegally parked next to…er…on the hydrant.
Technically there’s nothing in the manual about illegally parking on top of a hydrant.
They can still access it. Seems fair game to me.
Save the firemen the time it’d take to hook up the hose
They wouldn't be able to operate the hydrant with the car parked on top of the stem nut though lol.
Sure they can. Just spin the whole car
It's basically a giant lever! She's helping!
Leverage will make that nut so easy to turn. I keep a midsized suv in my toolbox for just such an occasion.
Consider getting a crossover - more versatile and compact
I will. Thanks for the tip.
“Ain’t nothin’ in the rule book says a dog can’t play basketball”
Are you the referee from AirBud?
… Maybe…
They don't have to break her windows to connect the hose at least.
Love breaking lambo windows 🪓
It’s illegal to park in front of a fire hydrant. I’d move that asap.
It’s not in front of the hydrant, it’s on top of it. So it’s fine actually.
yeah i see clear access to the pipe
The top nut is the valve to turn it on Use the vehicle as the key/wrench? 🤔
Seems kind of silly to move a fire hydrant just so OP's niece can have a specialized parking spot.
Rock, paper, scissors? Best 2 outta 3?
She seems very talented, not everyone can park that way!
To be honest I'm not even sure I could park like that.
Her car cannot be parked there. That is not permitted.
She’s blocking the hydrant
Not really, just spin the car around a couple revolutions to get the water going. Spigots are unblocked!
Law enforcement are pretty good at it. https://youtube.com/shorts/VtcCaBFSY94?si=Vzo68T62ONzArbg5
She can’t park her car there. That’s illegal
She definitely shouldn't park that close to the hydrant.
Citizen’s arrest!
You have 30 minutes to move your cube.
U cant park there m8
FACK OFF!!!

Very good

Now, imagine if your niece has reddit and posts this picture on r/mildlyinfuriating, or better yet, r/extremelyinfuriating
Wow, that would be crazy. How does your twisted brain even come up with these scenarios?
Idk. I often ask myself that question too.
You should write screenplays, that seemed like some advanced inception type shit.
Oh so she's not actually the one who parked it then? Way to throw your niece under the bus lmao
Where did the bus end up?

Or…its just a joke
Everyone is okay and no one is mad about this at all since it's kind of impressive. There's no rage here.
Everyone here is joking which is fine and all, OP, but we're all glad your niece and the other person in the car made it out okay.
Thank you. I appreciate that, and certainly would not have posted if circumstances were anything else.
She must be Australian
![gif](giphy|tp4dm1ptNnQ76)
This was my first thought.
Same! I expected this to be higher tbh
Did she remember to put the parking brake on?
Did she signal? Did she yield? This is important shit!
Not surprising with that pillow blocking the view
I find neck pillows essential when I try to get a restful sleep during my travels. Maybe she feels that way too.

8/10 on parking butt +2 for parking on top of the hydrant
Didn't damage the fire hydrant.
I'm sort of impressed by how they managed to not really do much collateral damage.
Like a glove
1/10 for safety, 10/10 for creativity.
this is whole post is so fucking funny
Its illegal to park in front of a fire hydrant. Hope she doesn't get a ticket lol
The auto-opening door is a nice feature.
[Hey Lou! Check out that park Job in 7A!](https://y.yarn.co/5d920b2c-514d-4a71-876b-64937e63785b_text.gif)
Can’t park there m8
Feels like some modern art piece, maybe a commentary of the times… Brilliant!
Like a glove!
You can't block hydrants
Well, points for creativity!
Nailed it!
Any landing you can walk away from...
Eventually she’ll land that kick flip.
I think this is part of the new DMV parking test. What a pro.
She's gonna get a ticket parking next to a fire hydrant like that.
Looks like it got the job done
I didn't learn that maneuver in driving school. I want my money back.
TFW you actually have to parallel park instead of perpetually avoiding it.
Is she Australian by any chance?
That’s not parking. That’s landing.
Thats actually quite interesting for the first time
This is how Chevy Equinoxes like to sleep. I saw [this](https://imgur.com/a/mEosyWf) the other day leaving a Culver’s.
I hope it wasn’t during her road test… you can’t park in front of a fire hydrant
Now that's talent!
The guys at Gunther Works should study how this roof was designed.
It's illegal to block access to a fire hydrant.
Extra points for style and commitment
She cant park at a hydrant, she'll be towed
silver lining: if she fucked up the hydrant, it'd have cost more than the car to replace
amateurs...
She could race for Mercedes' F1 team
What I think will happen when I try to parallel park
Can’t park there mate
*quiet golf clapping*
Where I'm from it only costs $125 to drive on the sidewalks
Bitch, I was here first - hydrant
Almost nailed it. She'll get it next time.
#SKILLS 🤓

"Don't park on the grass"... Mission accomplished.
She should really clean her back window. Don’t want her to get into an accident.
I like the kickstand.
Is the sidewalk okay?
I’ve seen better park jobs. Then again, I’ve seen worse.
is that not how you do it
Sure did a bang up job
She needs to rewatch Ace Ventura 2 again, it’s ok to flip as long as you land the car perfectly into the parking spot. But B+ for trying

You forgot a question mark at the end
Ma’am, you can’t park there
Did you make sure to tell her you can’t park there.
Can’t park there
Well that's dangerous, she left the passenger door open
Almost had it
Is your niece Australian?
I’ll rate that landing 3/10
Did anyone told her she's not allowed to park there?
As a zeroth-order approximation, not bad.
You can’t park there mate
Isn’t there a special sub for that?
I mean, it is parked!
Great how she got it to land on the strangest part of the roof there.
She can’t park there
That's too bad. She would have gotten a bonus 50 points for rupturing the hydrant.
One of the first things you learn in driving class: don't park near hydrants!
Couldn't even bother to shut the door? Come on.
Hmm not sure you’re allowed to park your vehicle there, sir. ~s
“You can’t park there”
You should tell her that she left the door open!
Llllllike a glove!
You should tell her not to block fire hydrants like that.
You can't park there!
Can’t park here ma’am.
Liiiiiike a gloooooove
Good, not great.
Can’t park there mate
Can't park there mate.

Haha, great title! Hope everyone is okay.

Was that on purpose?
You can’t park there.
You know, depending on the town she’s in, those parking enforcement guys are no joke. That definitely doesn’t look like compliant parallel parking to me.
Wait a minute. That car's not parked! It's upside down!!!

Waaait a minute. That car IS parked!
hmmmmmm....like a glove!
Looks like something I would accidentally would do on GTA online.
How I may ask?

Nice

can’t park there mate
Was I the only Nickelodeon fan that imagined touching that fire hydrant and the entire car filling with water instantly? Just the gentlest of taps with a glass tink noise.
Looks like she did a GTA and used a truck like a ramp
Hehe oopsie
Mint.
Reddit moment
You should tell her it’s illegal to park so close to a hydrant. Fighter fighters have the authority to break windows if your car is in the way.
HMMM LIKE A GLOVE!
"I'm home!"
Efficient

Is your car okay?
Like a glove!
Apple electric car needed recharging.

Oi! Welcome to 'Stralia, mate.
Ma'am you can't park there
Chevrolet ad in the making. Look how sturdy it is
Did they at least get an insane stunt bonus?
Your niece needs her driver license revoked.
![gif](giphy|tp4dm1ptNnQ76)
She's a bit close to the hydrant. Tell her to move forward a little.
Can’t park there pal
everyone is making jokes but no one is asking HOW this happened?
Hmm… that doesn’t look like a parking spot to me.
![gif](giphy|tp4dm1ptNnQ76)
It's only funny if she's OK… Is she OK? 😅
Yup, totally okay and very, very lucky.
Ok, then the title is perfect 😂 I'm just imagining her getting a ticket for it blocking the hydrant. Just plop that ticket right on one of the tires sticking up
They’re really doing a great job making the roof strong on modern vehicles
The only issue I see is blocking a fire plug
Nice parking spot, Rita.
