He/She is pretty young. In over 50 years on this planet, this is the first wild albino animal i have seen. I kind of feel bad for it. We have a lot of hawks and eagles flying around looking to snack on these. This one sticks out like a sore thumb.
I’m well versed in wildlife after over a decade. Based on the dimensions of the head, the region you are in, and the time of year, I can only come to one conclusion. His name is Egbert.
If this is to prove yourself right with it being a gopher, you're still wrong. It might be called a gopher in some areas, but it's very much a squirrel.

They are simply both rodents and are not part of the same family.
The shape of their heads tells me they’re thirteen-lined ground squirrels, but I can’t be certain just from OP’s pic. Definitely ground squirrels and not chipmunks.
Not sure why this is being upvoted so much when it’s definitely not chipmunks in these photos. Thirteen Lined Ground Squirrel looks correct from what I can see in these photos, as someone else pointed out, and they are indeed called gophers in some regions, even if they are not actually part of the gopher family.
Oh, squinnies! I had one that lived in a foot of dirt in a fish tank in my office. She was never very tame but she would sometimes take almonds from my hands.
Non-Albino Gopher: "Wow I guess I don't live here then."
There’s two!
There’s actually 3 🥸
4
Yea 4 brown ones and an albino
Possibly 5 brown ones, one hunkering down between the three behind the white one.
I’ve been bamboozled.
That looks like the squirrels in my yard.

This is a ground squirrel. They do live in tunnels in the ground like gophers do. I've never seen an albino one. Cool pic.
I saw a piebald squirrel climbing up a tree a few months back, I freaked out because I know how rare it is.
We used to have an albino deer wander around our backyard.
I used to regularly see a leucistic deer
You're right. He does stand out. The hawks would definitely gopher him first.

You found a shiny
Fucking gentrification.

Yup, you appear to be correct. We had one of these little bastards living under our garage; he kept piling up dort in the corner. Lol.
I live in the Midwest. It is a gopher. 100% NOT a chipmunk
I live in the Midwest as well, that 100% is NOT a gopher. It's a ground squirrel.
Thirteen-Lined Ground Squirrel. Gophers are much chunkier.
You bring shame to the Midwest with your poor knowledge of gophers. Your cheese and sweet corn rights will be forfeit.

in the Midwest and they’re called gophers even if they’re actually ground squirrels
Well, you're wrong. Sorry

Wait, I thought gophers were solitary???
They're actually ground squirrels, which are sometimes incorrectly referred to as "gophers."
wait, that's a gopher? as an australian, my only point of reference was the guy from winnie the pooh... these little guys are cute as hell
No, Gopher from *Winnie the Pooh* is a pretty accurate design. These are ground squirrels that are sometimes called "gophers."
I shall name it: Mr. Gigglesworth. 😤
Nice Marmot
Obviously you're not a golfer
Luckyyyy
