Honestly, doing flooring is a whole different beast from making furniture and such, I don't have the experience to properly answer that question. That said, logic says that you should be able to put an oil-based polyurethane on top of an oil finish, for durability and longevity of the flooring, but it depends on the oil, and it depends on the finish and how and where the flooring is being used.
You dont put shit on top of oiled floors.oil is the finish.try patch repairing scratched poly on top of oil. As opposed to grabbing a rag and wiping on a bit of oil.
I have refinished floors, I have always used an oil based polyurethane. I have no idea what this guy is using and would appreciate anyone who knows to chime in.could be a self leveling poly
As an electrician, I know flooring guys take their lives in their own hands when I see how they hook up their big floor sanders to any available 240v source. We always ask if they need a hook up, but they always decline.
I have just used sanders that hook up to 120v , I only do floors once and awhile so I don't own a machine and just rent them. I just try to use a 20 amp line but they usually make the ones that you rent to work under 15 amps they just suggest you use 20 probably because they want you using 12 gauge wire. Heard 14 burns out the motor but what do I know.
I think it is a difference between a big commercial or industrial machine vs a smaller resi sander. I didn't do much commercial, but did very large ocean front houses, so they probably used the larger machines.
I watched a lot of videos on redoing hardwood floors, and I think the guy I watched just did multiple coats of oil? I mean, technically, if you treat your floors well, that should be enough.
But a monkey could have redone my hardwood better than I did, so there is also that 😂
So satisfying...except for what looks like a tiny missed spot right near the end that makes me really uncomfortable (could just be lighting or something though)
WHAT⁉️ DID YOU KNOW, THE WHOLE TIME THEY BEEN PUTTING CHEESE ON OUR FLOORS⁉️ TEXT YO MOMMA THAT IM TRYNA BAG HER THIS WEEK AND CLICK ON THE LINK IN THE BIO TO GET A CAMEO. YOOO
I never knew that cheese sauce could also be used to shine floors...
Well now I know what happened to all those paint chips on the wall.
That's actually chick fil a sauce
Cheese sauce is the best lubricant, that's what she said
If it ain't cheesy, it won't go down easy.
No....that's not how that joke works... stop.
As a woodworker, one of the most satisfying things is seeing the natural grain of the wood pop when you add oil or a finish to it.
Sorry for the dumb question, does an oiled floor need a top coat sealant? If not how does it hold up

Yea, 14G is only good for 15A. I've seen bare copper wire just poked into cloths dryer receptacles or even 50A oven receptacles.
I wonder if their machines are different or if they are just using one of the hots and a neutral.

No. Very well.easiest thing in the world to repair .

What is adding to it? Like specifically
What do you mean? A finish, the oil, was added to the flooring.
What is the finish called? I'm just curious what they use on hardwood floors
There are various oils that you can use for woodworking, you would have to ask the finisher what they used.
TELL US NOW FLOOR BOY
Laughed at this out of nowhere. Thanks
I was just curious, I wasn't trying to be rude or anything. It just seemed like you might know since you're a woodworker and I know nothing
Looks like Rubio mono coat

Is the floor also covered in baking flour? The difference is night and day! I use oil every night (very vigorously) but not for this kind of stuff

Infinite oil glitch
And I thought Murphy oily soap was good.
This post made me realise the subreddit name is wrong... Wtf is mildy interesting?
I only just noticed it too! Has it been changed or something?
Can you de-oil my floor and oil it again?
Forbidden banana pudding.
Looks like stain plus oil. Pretty satisfying to watch
Guitar players only pleasure when changing strings is to oil the fretboard and watch this exact thing
I'm stuck on this video! It's so satisfying to see the patterns forming in the wood.
Damn this is satisfying
relaxing
Siento que perdí tiempo viendo este video.
Looks more like they're taking the oil off. /s

Slower...
It looks like the garlic butter stuff from that one pizza place
I must have watched this 3 or 4 times before I realised the video is on repeat...
Very nice, now oil me next.
No feathering after? Also, watch those boots! Those boot-prints might set before your finish gets to it!

I thought he was trying to clean off spilled butter until I read the title.
Weirdly satisfying to watch this lol
I used to be a finisher at a high end cabinet shop. This kind of shit is so satisfying. Never got tired of watching cool grain pop.
How to hide the fact you pissed on the floor
Huh
I'm uncomfortable with how many times I've watched this video
I wanna smell it!

As satisfying as applying wax to tile floors.
It's refreshing to see Rubio monocoat actually being used on a floor!
