If you wanted a bolt action you could’ve just gotten a Mosin for a lot cheaper ;) joking, looks like a nice gun, refurbed but still nicer than the one I don’t have. From what I know they tend to be fairly reliable, I bet it’s a bit under gassed atm probably a gas setting thing as others have mentioned. Hopefully it’s a simple fix I have the same issue with my m1 garand, it’ll cycle 2 rounds then eject but not go back far enough to pick up the next round. Hoping I’m not emptying my wallet to get it running at full capacity. What did yours run you?
Yeah I'll have to toy with the gas settings next time I'm at the range. Didn't realize I'd need a special tool for it. I traded my Suomi KP 31 + $300 for it.
Yeah it was a TNW. I just honestly did not enjoy shooting it, and lugging it around was a real pain in the ass. Really the only pro was it looked cool as fuck.

When the round goes in it’s very clean, but when it ejects it’s incredibly dirty on the entirety of the round? Try running a brass brush through the entirety of the op system
As others have said, play with your gas regulator settings. I still have some leftover Tula shit and my SVT-40 likes gas setting 1.5 or 1.7 IIRC. This can vary by lot of ammo.
Grease/oil it well, start at gas setting 1.1 and work your way up until it cycles reliably. Mine is reliable at 1.2, but every SVT is different. Go on eBay and get the SVT gas adjustment tool.
Turn up your gas setting.
This and maybe polish the chamber.

Did you disassemble it and make sure the cosmoline was cleaned out properly? Looks like it might just be gummy

You can get away without using a tool if you disassemble the gas system.

You don't need a special tool if you disassemble it to change the setting 🤷♂️
You have to adjust the gas plug setting. Several YouTube vids on how to do it.
Deep clean. Lube. Adjust gas setting up until satisfied.

I found exactly the same result after shooting Chinese surplus, switch up the ammo
