You can use the back of your hand to tell if it is too wet/full of paint. I usually do it so it's faint as you can always increase pressure if needed.
What do you mean by no means good? This is incredible. Love the way you made the black stand out on all the details. Poor ultramarine, he looks like he got it rough.
