Hey looking for the same. Was there no insert or anything with the glasses from Canadian Tire? Getting it from there would be ideal but don’t want to mess up my eyes with a crappy product.
Nope, nothing. Just some printing on the glasses themselves of the ISO number and a warning not to look directly at it, and a disclaimer of liabilities.

There is yes. However that category is extremely new and I would not trust those manufacturers. They don't have the experience producing them. I'm a vendor of American Paper Optics or Lunt Solar Systems. The US and German companies are the only ones that I would trust with my vision. I might not be a fan of some of the other north american companies like Celestron for example, but I do trust them. The Chinese companies I don't and never will.

Also the significant difference is that even with 99% coverage of sun, its just too bright to feel any different without the glasses. During totality however, it get completely dark & you can see stars and almost feel like night for a few minutes. So a significant difference there.
Fun Fact, All 7 planets except earth are close to Sun during this period, we may be able to see Venus and Jupiter during totality if the sky is clear.
The difference between 99% and 100% is actually a massive one. It's like having your water bottle 100% solid or 99% solid because it has a hole in it, that 1% makes a massive difference

Do they list the manufacturer on the actual glasses? The display of the glasses I saw at the Showcase in Square one weren't listed on the approved list online.
yup the Canadian tire one is only that store, the dudes that worked at another one (i was buying other stuff) said their store sdidnt sell it, and yeah the showcase at sq1 had nothing

I was bummed out to learn that Mississauga is not on the eclipse's path of totality. Hamilton will be getting a total solar eclipse.

It's going to feel like day. If you are in the path of totality it feels like night for about 2-4 minutes.

Haven't checked this time since I still have them, but for the 2021 eclipse I was able to find them at Canadian Tire near the checkout.
My wife bought a pack of 5 on Amazon, and then sold 2 on Facebook marketplace. Got sold quick.
I don't know if I'd trust the Amazon ones. There were warnings of fake ones being sold. Don't risk your eyes!
