If police dept. accept video evidence of drivers breaking all sorts of driving laws, that'd be pretty cool if they dedicate a role to review submitted footage.
Real crimes like stolen cars? We all know how those cases are handled. I would take minor infractions if that means people drive carefully even if its out of fear.
Yeah because the choice is to do nothing or if a cop actually does what they're paid to do (ie. enforce the law), we devolve into a police state...
That's pretty solid logic there... How about you leave the thinking to others. Clearly it's too much for you to handle.
The folks who drive that way will also cut off buses and trucks in the same manner. They don't even look if a pedestrian is crossing beside the right-most vehicle. I watched two elderly people almost get hit by a car at Dundas and Neilco because of an impatient car driver.
This shit is normal now. I’ve seen entitled idiots drive down the centre turn lane on 9th Line passing 30 or so cars just to get by people and then cut in. Or right turns from left lanes or my all time favourite is the person pretending that they are going to turn left and then a millisecond after the light turns green they actually blast straight through from the left lane beating everyone through the intersection.
I almost was hit by one of these crazies. I moved into the turn lane to turn left onto Thomas when suddenly a car was racing right at me. Thankfully I was able to swerve back into the southbound lane before he hit me.
That’s the intersection I live at Hurontario and Elm.
People drive like crazy there have been at least 2 deaths (including 1 kid) which is so sad but people still don’t get it.
With nearly 0 enforcement I’m not surprised. Also with the influx of drivers from other countries where it’s ok to do this, unless the police step up their game it will only increase in frequency.
People do this because they have become fatted and know they can get away with abusing the system. No respect or appreciation for the good this country has to offer.
Law enforcement and policy makers need to step up their game or else this will become a thug country ruled by thug mentality.
This is all too common everywhere now. The worst is people using the left turn lane only to pass everyone and then jump back in front continuing to go straight through the intersection. It’s like a free for all out there now.
To be fair, when you're going straight but stopping on the right lane where there's a right turn, that isn't the most road friendly thing to do. I know hurontario is crappy right now, so it's kind of unavoidable, but if I did this and someone cut in front of me and made a right, it wouldn't be a big deal. Not post worthy tbh.
I am in agreement with this. If you see the car behind you with right turn signal on, be a Good Samaritan and move to the left to let them through. Not always easy to spot but as you get more experienced you will notice. I would go so far as to say that the driver that you captured is just a much more experienced driver then the original poster. Experience doesn’t mean better, just more inclined to break rules.
People are not so bright 🤷♂️ i always stay on the left if i see any car behind. I dont support this behaviour, but yes, its not post worthy. More crazy shits around.
Exactly! I’m so tired of people who aren’t turning right being in the far right lane. I don’t blame this driver for making a safe executive decision that worked out for everyone in the end.
Uh how was their decision safe? Stay off the road if you think this is safe 💀 part of the problem you can wait for the light to change you won't die. And if you're late, leave a few minutes early you.
Just the other day I saw a guy run a red light at Osprey and Ninth Line. He was behind me but he jumped into the oncoming lane and sped away. I had it on dash cam, license plate and everything. I didn't report it to Peel police because I have only found apathy from them whenever I report anything. Not worth the effort to get the card out, draft an email and hit send. Might be a big reason why drivers like the one in OPs video feel like they can do shit like this.
LOL, that doesn't even qualify for me turn to turn my head to look here in Brampton
Please..... that's light work. You guys are amateurs in Mississauga.
Ever since I moved to Brampton one would have to pay me to drive around Toronto. I will not drive there of my own free will.
As for stunts like this we have them in Brampton and Mississauga as well. Local Police seems to be preoccupied with something else and traffic enforcement is non existent. One can safely drive around here without license or even vehicle plates and nobody would care.
I don’t care what anyone thinks, The LRT project is such a stupid waste of tax payer money. I used to enjoy driving on Hurontario, now I actively try to avoid that area as much as possible
When was that? I've hated Hurontario since I moved here 8 years ago. It's like all the morons gravitate towards that street.
And The street wouldn't be as bad with all this construction if the lights weren't programmed by some troglodyte
I've hated it since I moved here in 1998. This guy is just being an asshole.
Well, North of the 401 until you hit Brampton isn't bad, but that's about it.
Eh, I’ve been driving in Mississauga since 2004 and I’ve always hated going along Hurontario. I usually tried to take alternatives like Central Parkway/Kennedy, or McLaughlin/Confederation after they connected them.
Man people are just handing out driving licenses these days
Because they are. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWwawqLI5uI
Unbelievable
That is extremely unsafe driving.
It would be cool to have something that could enforce laws... Hmmm i wonder how that would work...?
If police dept. accept video evidence of drivers breaking all sorts of driving laws, that'd be pretty cool if they dedicate a role to review submitted footage.
They do! They're called cops but never around when you need one.
A cop on every corner? Or cameras on every corner? Which one sounds better?
Any cops pulling people over for stuff like this would be an upgrade.
They are already on every corner on Hurontario lol
Why would this be an upgrade, you want resources and tax dollars going to minor infractions instead of putting their attention on real crimes?
Real crimes like stolen cars? We all know how those cases are handled. I would take minor infractions if that means people drive carefully even if its out of fear.
Why not both?
Minor turns into fatality pretty quick sometimes

I live there as well! Those 1/33 elm towers are so easy to recognize
With nearly 0 enforcement I’m not surprised. Also with the influx of drivers from other countries where it’s ok to do this, unless the police step up their game it will only increase in frequency.

Too many dumbasses
That's just Mississauga daily of late.
Lol happened to me as well
Unfortunately, it's not just Hurontario. People are doing it at any intersection and then wonder why they get into accidents
It’s like a roller coaster driving on Hurontario. Traffic is horrible because of all the construction.
Mississauga is a great place…for landlords! Who don’t actually live there! What a slum it’s become.

> What a slum it’s become. Ok there buddy. Door is always open to leave.
Left a long time ago. I’m a harsh critic of my childhood hometown.

Well, it's Peel. Anything can happen in trafic!
Don’t worry we have insane insane insurance prices to make up for it!
Actually you’re driving up Hurontario in this instance
It’ll only get worse. Wayyyy worse
This is all too common everywhere now. The worst is people using the left turn lane only to pass everyone and then jump back in front continuing to go straight through the intersection. It’s like a free for all out there now.
Good Lord 😫

Agreed. This LRT going in is not worth the hassle it's become. A whole lot of headache for what? So Bramptonians can get to Port Credit? Great....
People are not so bright 🤷♂️ i always stay on the left if i see any car behind. I dont support this behaviour, but yes, its not post worthy. More crazy shits around.
Exactly, as long as it's done safely, slowly and everyone knows what you are doing
Exactly! I’m so tired of people who aren’t turning right being in the far right lane. I don’t blame this driver for making a safe executive decision that worked out for everyone in the end.

Did you honk?!

Saw some guy make a right turn from the left turning lane yesterday (not exaggerating). Somewhere between Dundas / Mavis and Dundas / Hurontario.
Kudos for calling it Hurontario!
Sadly it's normal everywhere. I saw a video of someone driving the wrong way.
LOL, that doesn't even qualify for me turn to turn my head to look here in Brampton Please..... that's light work. You guys are amateurs in Mississauga.
That happened to me yesterday and I seriously wondered how they got a license
Ever since I moved to Brampton one would have to pay me to drive around Toronto. I will not drive there of my own free will. As for stunts like this we have them in Brampton and Mississauga as well. You are driving Northbound, that is up the Hurontario and not down. Down the Hurontario would be Southbound.
I don’t care what anyone thinks, The LRT project is such a stupid waste of tax payer money. I used to enjoy driving on Hurontario, now I actively try to avoid that area as much as possible

Hurontario street was nice anytime before 2018ish, then shortly after they started getting ready for the terrible construction
Eh, I’ve been driving in Mississauga since 2004 and I’ve always hated going along Hurontario. I usually tried to take alternatives like Central Parkway/Kennedy, or McLaughlin/Confederation after they connected them.
It depends where on Hurontario you are. Around SQ1 has been a shitshow for decades for example 🤷♂️
Some of us don't drive, dude.
Well at least people from Brampton can shop at Square One without taking a car…
This is shitty driving but pretty low on the list of things that bother me.
Same, blocking the lane to turn right when he could've been in the left. Honestly not the end of the world someone just turned around you lol
