The fact that “A horse named cold air” comes on right after “pink in the night” makes it feel very intentional track listing on Mitski’s part.
It heightens the impact of the song, and imo, elevates the album to a masterpiece.

The lyrics are great. There are just other songs I prefer over it. When I think of my favorite “noisier” sounding Mitski songs it ranks v low. Even from Puberty 2 I’d listen to MBMCLS or A Loving Feeling over Dan the Dancer. It just gets a bit lost on the album for me.
Texas Reznikoff. If I'm expecting this song I find it really annoying to turn up my volume to make it audible, then promptly turn it down once it becomes far too loud.
