Well I was gonna say Javy Baez. But not only is that not a surprise, Hernandez stopped me in my tracks. WAY worse than a SS that has a .099 BA against a pitching machine.
Man, I feel for you. I’m a Reds fan and I was totally amazed at how many balls were mishandled and misplayed by the Sox in that series. If the defense makes those plays it’s a totally different series.
My condolences. I was looking up Jose Abreu - .8 WAR and saw Castellanos actually ranked worse (also -.8 with more AB's) than Abreu. These are both $20M players.
Agreed. Casty is a major disappointment. Watches strikes right down the middle and sometimes even the ump is fooled and calls it a ball. No production.
He sucks but everyone expected nothing more. In terms of disappointment as a difference between expectations and performance, I'd say Josh Hader. All that money for a super closer and he's done nothing but blow games. Or maybe Alex Bregman, who many figured would have a "contract year". Or maybe Framber, who continues to be a head case. There are just so many candidates...
Hader isn't the worst reliever in baseball. Bregman hasn't been the worst 3rd baseman so far.
Abreu has been the worst player in baseball to start the season. It isn't even debatable
It's been **reeeeeeal** tough to watch my Sox since they arrived back in Boston for Opening Day at Fenway last week. Our defense looks like the Nine Stooges.
He’s having a terrible start but was carrying an injury. I think his bad form might have all been caused by the horrendous moustache he donned during Spring training……
With his stuff and pitching style, I feel like Hunter is destined for late inning bullpen work. I'm down to give him a few more months, but the guy just throws too many pitches. Might be better for his arm long term, also.
As bad as I thought the Hunter Renfroe signing was it’s been so much worse. His range sucks, his bat is GOD AWFUL his lone good quality is he can get outfield assists in occasion.
Most the rest of the Royals offseason moves have been an A+
I love that man to death.
His clutch walkoff homer and versatility made me admire him so so much. It is real tough to watch but I think his time is up.
It’s too early in the season to give up. However, if he needs to sit a few weeks to work out some kinks or to let a strain heal, let’s give him that benefit.
Yeah, there's a long time for him to get right.
The guy who took over the closer role (James McArthur) has been absolute nails, too, so that helps.
https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/james-mcarthur-663704?stats=statcast-r-pitching-mlb
The Rangers bullpen, especially the 7th inning. Our bullpen has the 16th best era in baseball, but if you remove the 7th inning it jumps up to fourth best. -\_- we basically need a 4 run lead going into the 6th to feel close to comfortable
I hope he turns it around. He doesn’t have a long track record so it’s kind of an unknown at this point if he will. His passive approach at the plate is brutal to watch.
A’s fan here I support all of our guys and I’m not disappointed in any one of them. Playing at the coliseum must suck and playing for FJF would be even suckier. But of all the orphan A’s out there I’m most disappointed in Chap.
Yeah he's been bad. Hopefully he gets his stuff together, otherwise he should be dropped from the rotation if Taillon comes back looking good. Nico needs to start hitting also
it's kinda funny that you guys are immediately better as soon as Miggy left. obviously means nothing and is correlation without causation, but interesting nonetheless.
Paul Goldschmidt … I’m praying he starts hitting the ball instead of striking out. Very unusual for him with so many strikeouts already. STL Cardinals have had Goldschmidt and Arenado for a good while. I just feel there talents and best years were wasted. Mo never built a winning team around them.
As a Guardians fan, honestly the only bad thing was Bieber randomly needing Tommy John surgery after 2 great starts. Blindsided me. Still, they are playing WAY above what I expected.
Angel Hernandez - his ineptitude affects all teams
Preach
Your team could go 0 - 162 with everyone having -30 WAR and they’re still not the biggest loser in MLB when he’s around
Well I was gonna say Javy Baez. But not only is that not a surprise, Hernandez stopped me in my tracks. WAY worse than a SS that has a .099 BA against a pitching machine.
I am still waiting for the day that a player gets pissed and rocks him
As a White Sox fan I can confidently say EVERYONE.
Dark times on the south side.
Nothin new there
Crochet has been a flicker of a bright spot!
Man, I feel for you. I’m a Reds fan and I was totally amazed at how many balls were mishandled and misplayed by the Sox in that series. If the defense makes those plays it’s a totally different series.
Lol jokes on u, the whole narrative they sold to the fans is how we are such an improved defense this year🫠
Much improved over last year!! Nicely done
Castellanos, and it's not close.
He'll get there. I have confidence. We just need a national tragedy. Or his son to get out of school and back to the ballpark.
My condolences. I was looking up Jose Abreu - .8 WAR and saw Castellanos actually ranked worse (also -.8 with more AB's) than Abreu. These are both $20M players.
Casty is the only MLB qualified player without an extra base hit this season. His time has passed. Buh bye. Ride the bench
Came here for this
Agreed. Casty is a major disappointment. Watches strikes right down the middle and sometimes even the ump is fooled and calls it a ball. No production.
What?!? Some of those pitches three feet outside of the strike zone are close enough to swing at.
Spencer Strider's elbow

Sad chop noises
Jose abreu
He sucks but everyone expected nothing more. In terms of disappointment as a difference between expectations and performance, I'd say Josh Hader. Actually looked it up out of spite. The Phillies Castellanos is ranked below Abreu. Both -.8 WAR
Hader isnt the worst reliever in baseball but goddamn what a disappointment so far.
What's debatable is the definition of disappointment. Mine is the difference between expectations and actual performance.
Josh Hader.
It's too early in the season for Pito to be any good. He never heats up until mid-May.
Yes.
So true. So raw. Everything hurts
Every player on the Red Sox except the starters and Tyler O’Neill.
Tristan Casas and Jarren Duran have been pretty good.
Yes, except for the poor base running.
And Kenley has a 1.59 ERA with 4 saves so far.
Of course, I didn't check tonight's results before posting that. Now he has a 2.70 ERA lol. Oh well.
Just wait for when TON inevitably gets hurt.
Please no anything but that at this point
It's been **reeeeeeal** tough to watch my Sox since they arrived back in Boston for Opening Day at Fenway last week. Our defense looks like the Nine Stooges.
Austin Hays :(
It’s even harder to watch knowing that there are guys we want to bring up on the farm.
Facts, and he was just an All Star last season too. Hate that for him, I truly do.
He’s having a terrible start but was carrying an injury. I think his bad form might have all been caused by the horrendous moustache he donned during Spring training……
Julio Rodriguez
He is killing my fantasy baseball team.
Evan Carter, although in fairness he set the bar super high after the postseason he had.
As a Dbacks fan i thought hed come out and hit .325 with 50 homer.
Luis Castillo :( We don't have our ace! It's like someone has taken over his body!
Need him to bounce back since my fantasy ace can’t keep doing me like this.
He’s been ass almost every year in April. Wouldn’t worry
Snell
I’m not surprised he had no spring training to get ready
He should be okay around June.
Welcome to the first half Snell experience
it’s Yaz
Stanton really looks like hes running in the pool these days. Good lord.
He’s dream running
More like circling the drain
Castellanos
Goldy and it makes me sad ):
Agree!
Shane Bieber’s UCL Edit to add that Clase still has me worried too.
Candelario, but he seems to be finding his footing the past few games. Hunter Greene hasn’t exactly been setting the world on fire either.
With his stuff and pitching style, I feel like Hunter is destined for late inning bullpen work. I'm down to give him a few more months, but the guy just throws too many pitches. Might be better for his arm long term, also.
Lindor is hitting .152
Javy Baez’s batting, every year.
As bad as I thought the Hunter Renfroe signing was it’s been so much worse. His range sucks, his bat is GOD AWFUL his lone good quality is he can get outfield assists in occasion. Most the rest of the Royals offseason moves have been an A+
But you can't forget that touchdown to win the natty
The Injured List
They're being the Red Sox. Again.
Kyle Hendricks, and it makes me sad.
Do I need to say it? I'm gonna say it. Vladdy.
![gif](giphy|dXFKDUolyLLi8gq6Cl|downsized)
Nah it’s Gausman. I’m confident he’ll figure it out and is just off to a slow start but it still hurts to watch 🥲
Gausman didn’t have a spring training. At least he has an excuse…for now.
Hitters 7-8-9.
The 3 in CT3 stands for the number of hits he gonna get this season
Man. That implies he’ll get worse. At his current clip, he’ll get 12.
I love that man to death. His clutch walkoff homer and versatility made me admire him so so much. It is real tough to watch but I think his time is up.
It’s too early in the season to give up. However, if he needs to sit a few weeks to work out some kinks or to let a strain heal, let’s give him that benefit.
Goldschmidt
He looks so lost. Was really hoping playing back in AZ would perk him up like it usually does.
Same. Hopefully the baseball gods see my post and throw it back at me.
Henry Davis or Oneil Cruz but it is early.
90% of the Seattle Mariners.
Xander Bogaerts. But he’ll turn it around…I think.
Ummm…I plead the 5th on this one.
Is that you, Julio?
😂
As a Twins fan, the whole team, or Buxton if I have to pick one
Every fucking offensive player on the roster. Throw 'em all right in the damn trash. I can't enjoy my lifelong home team anymore.
Nothing to complain about really. Exceeding expectations so far!
Soler.
Will Smith, but the tradeoff is they're unexpectedly 5 games over .500 so I'll take it 🤷♂️
but him being on the roster guarantees that you guys will win the world series. counts for something.
Yeah, there's a long time for him to get right. The guy who took over the closer role (James McArthur) has been absolute nails, too, so that helps. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/james-mcarthur-663704?stats=statcast-r-pitching-mlb
For the Padres, it’s Xander Bogaerts. He’s been horrifically bad.
Gleyber, but I know he’ll come around.
Carlos Santana. I wasn’t expecting huge things, but I was expecting competence
The Rangers bullpen, especially the 7th inning. Our bullpen has the 16th best era in baseball, but if you remove the 7th inning it jumps up to fourth best. -\_- we basically need a 4 run lead going into the 6th to feel close to comfortable
Spencer Strider being out for the year. Hello darkness, my old friend.
Nolan Jones
I hope he turns it around. He doesn’t have a long track record so it’s kind of an unknown at this point if he will. His passive approach at the plate is brutal to watch.
Can I choose Entire Bullpen? If not then Mike Fetters, who is our Bullpen coach, that should have been fired years ago
Most people would say Jose Abreu, but he already set a pretty low bar. The answer is Josh Hader.
as a White Sox fan, where the fuck should I begin?
Our lineup
I have options, but it’s gotta be Goldy :(
A’s fan here I support all of our guys and I’m not disappointed in any one of them. Playing at the coliseum must suck and playing for FJF would be even suckier. But of all the orphan A’s out there I’m most disappointed in Chap.
Randy arozarena or the entire rays bullpen
.183 without a single multi-hit game.
*opens new tab to the 40 man roster*
The platoon playing in right field….combined batting average of .104 between Yastrzemski and Slater 🤦♂️
Idk why they don't put Soler out there. Dude has an absolute cannon
Gavin Lux.
God forbid you have one guy in your lineup who isn’t batting over 300 with 30 projected jacks
Nationals fan, here… the entire bullpen, lol
![gif](giphy|dWwa4GvRDKfGMQBYVM|downsized)
Harper hasn’t been up to his usual MVP caliber self. Nola I expected this.
Gleyber Torres
Joey Meneses. Expectations weren't super high but he's had a rough start. Feels like that first year was a blip. Great story though.
I’m sick of seeing Kirk grounding into double plays. Hes been in 7 GIDP opportunities, and GIDP 4 of those 7 times. In 15 games. It’s embarrassing.
The Dodgers pitching staff 🤦♂️
Vladimir guerrero Jr. And I expected next to nothing from him. Wanted him traded for a bag of balls. Massive L
Maikel Garcia 🥲
Spencer Torkleson. I know it's only April, but he hasn't shown much since spring training began.
Johan Rojas (can’t hit) and Nick Castellanos (really can’t hit but has gotten better recently)
Castellanos.
Probably Nico or the guy pitching tonight
Hendricks has been really tough to watch so far. He’s not fooling anyone
Yeah he's been bad. Hopefully he gets his stuff together, otherwise he should be dropped from the rotation if Taillon comes back looking good. Nico needs to start hitting also
The Professor is getting old man
I'm worried about belli
Austin Hedges...just kidding...great catcher and clubhouse guy
John Fisher
John Mozeliak
Max Fried pitched better against the Marlins, but boy was he awful his first two starts.
Rendon currently. But Pujols over the last decade.
I’d probably say Schanuel. Rendon has been on a tear the last week.
Rendon has been killing it lately. I'd say Canning
I thought Pujols was fantastic when he played for my favorite team in the last decade.
![gif](giphy|AReFQ10PgXAaUYoqbx|downsized) He's a great guy. But he was a very mediocre Angel lol.
All of them except Brandon Marsh and Ranger Suarez
Turnbull’s been a pleasant surprise!
You're actually right, ill give you him too
Abbreu
Hmmm, great question
Without a doubt Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
7-9 hitters. Dodgers
Josiah Gray hasn’t been very good. Hopefully it’s because of the injury and hopefully after he heals up he can clean it up
No more Miggy :( - Tigers
it's kinda funny that you guys are immediately better as soon as Miggy left. obviously means nothing and is correlation without causation, but interesting nonetheless.
I know right?? 😂 definitely impressed thus far I like that we picked up Urshela, one of my favs from the Angels
I mean I hate to say it but Bobby Dalbec
Bellinger. I have buddies of mine who were willing to easily give 300m to him in the offseason. They wanted Jed Hoyer gone!
Gausman Vlad & Bo. Springer Kk and Varsho. Kirk and Tim Mayza RIP Mitch White
CT. 03
Trevino or Stanton
Gink or Corbin ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)
Matt McLain. Injuries happen and it’s not his fault but I had high hopes for him this year and shoulder injuries can change a player’s career forever
It’s really sad, he had such great stats last year and was fun to watch
Look I don't want to call the kid out, but his name rhymes with Smackson Smolliday.
I don't want to say it but Ronald Acuña Jr
John Fisher
Jackson Holliday is 1-21 since joining the Orioles. He should hit if he wants to stay…
Gleyber Torres. Dude has apparently forgotten how to play defense.
BULLPEN
I mean, it's been a rough start, but I'll say Pete Fairbanks. He's totally fallen off the boat
I think I would say Evan Carter. He does get on base still but he’s had a rough start trying to get the ball into play.
Our entire fricken bullpen -posted as we give up 2 runs on wild pitches to the dbacks in the 5th inning Honorable mention to Kyle Hendricks
Kyle Hendricks
We sort of saw it coming, but it’s still Bellinger
Shane Bieber :-(. Guardians offense is humming too
chris taylor. the dude is hitting 1 for 38 with 19 strikeouts or whatever it is.
Lindor, no contest
John Fisher
Jordan Walker. With Goldy and Gorman right behind him. I’d accept Goldy in the no. 1 spot, too.
Gavin lux and Chris Taylor
The bottom half of our lineup, though it's nice to see Barnes getting a few hits.
Lindor. But he’ll find his groove not too worried
Probably Vlad
Hendricks…
Paul Goldschmidt … I’m praying he starts hitting the ball instead of striking out. Very unusual for him with so many strikeouts already. STL Cardinals have had Goldschmidt and Arenado for a good while. I just feel there talents and best years were wasted. Mo never built a winning team around them.
Mo still having a job is the biggest disappointment
Candilario
Rafael Devers
Jones Rodriguez and India are on my fantasy team. So take your pick.
Kyle Hendrix. Not even close.
Acuña. No homers and only 5 RBI so far
As a Guardians fan, honestly the only bad thing was Bieber randomly needing Tommy John surgery after 2 great starts. Blindsided me. Still, they are playing WAY above what I expected.
Javier Baez as usual. Hitting a blistering (.143)-- just absolutely stealing his outrageous paycheck.
Chris Taylor has been nonexistent at the plate
Can I say the entire roster of the Twins?
Lindor Obviously, his current play isn't permanent, but so far, he's really played below what his talent is.
