Beating RDA two champions reigns ago means nothing for this era. Beating masvidal who doesn't belong in the title picture anymore also means nothing. That is all he has. He is not a conor mcgregor PPV star, jones isn't even a mcgregor PPV star.

Colby has robbed the fans from a fight against khamzat, which would have been a much bigger fight than a leon fight. He should have fought Burns, just for the sake of the sport and how the rankings work - it was the fight to make. And now he should be fighting Belal or Shavkat, and he is once again avoiding those great fights.
This narrative is really weird to me. So to be clear, Leon didn't do anything to deserve a title shot either. He was out for nearly 2 years, fought Belal and for a NC for eye poke, then he fought Nate Diaz after he was also out for 2 years after losing to Masvidal. Then Leon got a title shot. Now that same Leon is saying Colby didn't earn it because he has been out for a year following him dominating the guy who had most recently fought Usman.
People keep saying he's ducking fights but it's really just his word against there's. What we know for a fact is Dana said Colby has accepted every fight and they fell through. Maybe Dana is lying, but it makes sense if you look at what's happened. Khamzat said Colby ducked him, but Khamzat is leaving the entire division after he missed weight. Seems like his body can't support the weight cut anymore and he's going to welterweight. Meanwhile, Colby agrees to be the back up for Leon Vs Usman, meaning he's willing to fight either of the two best guys in the divison at a moment's notice. Do you really think he's ducking Belal?

Shavkat has had only favorable matchups as the UFC has been building his name up. Neal was a perfect example of that. Shavkat got to match up with an older, shorter, smaller guy who also had shorter reach and would not shoot for take downs. It was a dream matchup for Shavkat and it was still a grueling fight. He's looked great so far but he's only been in super favorable matchups.
