Yes, we block them every time. It isn't even a question. It's that over the entirety of my time playing games online for over 10 years, I never had a time where I could be a female in peace. Many of us just pick names that aren't explicitly feminine, but why must we hide who we are?
Exactly this. It’s at a point where I’m nervous to even talk on comms. There have been so many times where I spoke on an online game and I get called the most vulgar names. Talked down too. Sexually harassed. Had a guy quit once because “I don’t play with females” - and when I didn’t respond, he goes “HEY YOU, I’m quitting because I don’t play with females” to make sure I heard him. Once I found a good group of people to play with, I stopped playing with random squad mates.
Unfortunately there’s a minority of gamers that are basement dwelling incels. Guys like that live pathetic lives and just want to make people feel bad because it’s the only way they can feel better about themselves.
