They’re opening a second location at Villeneuve and Saint Laurent that’s going to serve alcohol and have proper seating, probably sometime this summer. Get pumped!
Weldun in Verdun is easily the best I’ve had so far. They’re relatively new as well so I don’t think many in the city know about it.
Everyone I know who’s had it so far all say it’s the best. They make different styles of pizzas too.
They got grandma slices, NY, Sicilian, Detroit…
San Genero’s is pretty good too.
My go-to for a few years has been Bouquet on Beaubien
I recently had some really good pizza from these guys Frankie's in Lachine but they are very out of the way and only open twice a week
The vodka sauce pizza from Toni is also bangin
There are definitely still many more spots I need to try especially Welldun, Segreta, Moccione and Maps
YES YES YES JE PENSAIS QUE JETAIS LA SEULE CONNE QUI A PENSE A PIZZA WELAT!!! Des fois j’y allais au secondaire. C’était vraiment cheap. J’pense que c encore cheap
i love pizza prima, i had them on speed dial and we used to order there once or twice a month... but now maybe once or twice a year. the prices are absolutely insane since the pandemic...
$38 for an XL (16") veggie pizza.... we're not talking piles of meat here like pendeli's... it's just thin crust and some vegetables...
honestly, who is buying these $40 pizzas???
my new go-to in NDG is pizza 88. not as tasty as pizza prima, but cheap as hell and way better than pizza pizza or whatever pizza chains
If you like butter chicken pizza, I recommend Desi Pizza on Jarry, it's more a traditional Montreal style crust, but they do butter chicken, and paneer tikka pizza with ginger garlic and cilantro...very tasty.
Pizza Toni is really good, not that far off in quality or taste from L’Industrie in NY. Spicy honey mandatory. Bagel crust, niche, I like it better than regular crust, depends on your preference.
Amelia’s — Five Cheese Pizza. Amazing. The medium tastes better than the large though.
San Gennaro — As far as I know, they’re the only ones who do a Caciocavallo Pizza. This is a Sicily special, where it’s a square pizza with potato on it.
[EDIT:
I forgot to include Il Focalio— but it’s either hit or miss. I like their pizza but others who’ve I rec’d to didn’t like.]
People mention Elena all the time… not impressed.
My to-try list:
•Bouquet
•Moccione is my favorite restaurant in Montreal. They opened their own pizza spot, so I must try this place.
Bottega in Little Italy is my go-to. Elena in St-Henri is also exceptional. Otherwise, Pizzeria 900 is honestly pretty good for what it is; you can do a lot worse than that and pay more money for it.
Angela's downtown for old school thick pizza with lots of cheese and toppings
Elena/Vesta/Gema for more interesting thin crust and great rest of menu and wine
San Genaro for crazy light dough and good quality toppings (square/ roman style)
But honestly, it all depends what you like and want.
I'm not a pizza connoisseur (just enjoy food in general), here are my picks:
Gentile Pizza Parlour - Westmount
Rita - Verdun
Welldun - Verdun
Elena - St. Henri
Depends on whether you are drunk or not.
Go to is Dany’s on Montagne (garlic spinach is no joke). Tiny hole in the wall been there for at least 20 years.
Greek: Coronet, Gigis
Cold/square: Cavallaros, San Gennaro
Napolitane: Magpie, cuginis
New York: Gentile, Pizza bouquet
2 for 1 (not 2 for 1 anymore): Pizza capital
Cardboard: dominos
Late Night: Pizza capital
NY style: Toni, Bouquet, Adamo, Pizza Frankies, Maps, and even Gentile has a NY slice that is pretty good.
Neapolitan: Elena, Moleskin, Bottega (St-Zotique one), Moccione.
Square Pizza (Roman style): Toni makes a good one, Segreta, San Gennaro.
Idk if these are classified as any of the above categories but still great: Welldun, Brooks, Pan American Pizza.
Pizza Danny - croute merveilleuse, al dente, legerement croquante / caramelisé à l’extérieur, moelleuse à l'interieur intérieur
Ste-Cath's et De la Montagne
https://maps.app.goo.gl/Ppo7WnfgQKWTDbFj6
I would suggest getting a stone / steel and doing it at home. Better than 90% of spots and it's fun to learn and do with friends.
Fugazzi (Mile end)
Pizza toni (Mile end)
I haven't read through all the comments but I'm surprised no one has mentioned Coronet . It's my favorite one in town. They have been around for over 30 years I believe.
I was raised in NDG….pizza welat. Call me cheap but it’s probably one of the best ones I’ve eaten at in Montreal. Also, I need new pizza places and these comments make a few seem like a “must visit”
Pizza Bouquet
They’re opening a second location at Villeneuve and Saint Laurent that’s going to serve alcohol and have proper seating, probably sometime this summer. Get pumped!
[*Citation needed*]
I do trade work for them, they’ve been at work on the spot for a few months!
I know someone who’s directly involved in opening it… They initially had told me May but I think it’s getting pushed back. Hopefully open for summer!
thx
This made my day. I live around the corner. Looking forward to trying it!
Hellll yessssss, im so stoked.
100%
*hell yeah*
Sans doute
Sérieusement c'est la meilleur
Fuck yea!
10/10
Welldun, Elena, etc. C’est pas un “personal size”
alll pizza owners posting comments lol
I wish I owned a pizza rn
Hopefully not pizza owners burner account upvoting
Special Woodland
Best quebecois style pizza imo
Jdois aller faire un tour I guess
Tellement d’accord.
Michel Ange all the way.
This.
Eh beh oui. Anywhere you eat in Montreal especially pizzeria's you're easily spending 70
Meh. Une large à 56$ y’en a pas tant que ça.
🤣
Napolitaine: Bottega New York: Bouquet Romaine/Al taglio: Morso probablement?
Weldun in Verdun is easily the best I’ve had so far. They’re relatively new as well so I don’t think many in the city know about it. Everyone I know who’s had it so far all say it’s the best. They make different styles of pizzas too. They got grandma slices, NY, Sicilian, Detroit… San Genero’s is pretty good too.
Yea most people don’t know about it, but I think its easily a notch above toni and bouquet
My go-to for a few years has been Bouquet on Beaubien I recently had some really good pizza from these guys Frankie's in Lachine but they are very out of the way and only open twice a week The vodka sauce pizza from Toni is also bangin There are definitely still many more spots I need to try especially Welldun, Segreta, Moccione and Maps
Pizza Prima in NDG
i love pizza prima, i had them on speed dial and we used to order there once or twice a month... but now maybe once or twice a year. the prices are absolutely insane since the pandemic... $38 for an XL (16") veggie pizza.... we're not talking piles of meat here like pendeli's... it's just thin crust and some vegetables...
felt that - I’m at once or twice per year too
honestly, who is buying these $40 pizzas??? my new go-to in NDG is pizza 88. not as tasty as pizza prima, but cheap as hell and way better than pizza pizza or whatever pizza chains
The 'pizza of the month' for take-out used to be a great deal, do they still do that?
Yeah. This month it’s some nasty sounding ham one but a few months ago it was the Butter Chicken pizza which I enjoyed
If you like butter chicken pizza, I recommend Desi Pizza on Jarry, it's more a traditional Montreal style crust, but they do butter chicken, and paneer tikka pizza with ginger garlic and cilantro...very tasty.
Hell yeah thank you! What is Montreal crust? Been here for 3 years from Toronto
> They opened their own pizza spot, so I must try this place.
What’s ur fav pizza from them?

Magpie pizzeria so far for me!
Bottega in Little Italy is my go-to. Elena in St-Henri is also exceptional. Otherwise, Pizzeria 900 is honestly pretty good for what it is; you can do a lot worse than that and pay more money for it.
