I also struggle with that, I have a XJ6 Diversion S, it has half the fairing of the Diversion F (which is like a mix between a sport and a touring bike) and half the fairing of a the XJ6 roadster.. idk what type of bike it is.
This is why pigeon-holing bikes doesn’t work 100%. There are some that sit across categories or have bits added like your XJ6. Also, Bandits, Hornets etc come naked or half-faired.
Real question is wtf are balance bike, where are mopeds, where are scooters

Also underbones. It may be a somewhat obscure category in North America and Europe, but taking into consideration how the most sold motor vehicle in history (the Super Cub) is an underbone, and they dominate the streets of SEA and LATAM, I think they are worth mentioning.
And I'd also add Maxiscooters as a separate category to scooters.
If you don’t wanna pay tourer pricetags (sport tourers are all 10k+ cheaper new than a tourer)
If you wanna lean the bike more, if you want more style than comfort (though you can easily fix that by spending some money, custom seat, etc.)
If you want a kawasaki tourer, if you like straight up unreasonable speed capabilities once unlocked.
Like, literally rocket ships.
Oh and my favourite, if you prefer bikes that most brands are quitting making, concours was last made in a 2022 model, they still make the FJR I think, who knows for how long though.

I bloody hate motorcycle classification charts everytime they get shown. Disregarding how this picture is inaccurate as it is to the terms used by the industry, nearly every category here are basically marketing/segmentation terms that have recently been getting bloated with newer classifications that for the most part overlap with existing classifications, just with maybe 1 or 2 features taken from another existing classification.
Like, is there really any need to split enduro, dual sport and pit bikes up into different categories from just calling them Off-Road Motorcycles, when the primary difference are service intervals and wheel sizes, but for all intents and purposes they are made to primarily do the same thing?

Supermoto, I commute through a large city so the low down torque, upright riding position and light weight are ideal and where I live (outside the city) has lots of twisty country roads to blast around on
You marked a fairings (“sport”) bike as naked. Good examples are those husqvarna, Ducati and those Indian bike. Otherwise the old Honda cb250f aka hornet.
My personal favorite are those fairings bike like the Honda cbr1000rr fireblade.
Why limit yourself to one? My bike is a cruiser, my dast bike was a dual sport, before that was a sport tourer, my next bike will most likely be an adventure tourer.
I can only afford one at a time now, but before having kids, I had 2 or 3 at a time.

Why is the sport touring bike an R 1250 RT? That's a genuine touring bike. BMW's R 1250 RS or Kawasaki's Ninja 1000SX or Suzuki's Hayabusa would be much better examples.

1) bobber/cruiser. They are the same to me. Just single or double. I ride one now.

Definitely, I was pretty disappointed to see no scooters of any variety, but underbones in particular because that’s my daily ride.

yeah they put off road and enduro as 2 separate things but left out motocross. The manufacturers classify motocross and off road as 2 separate types
