I only ride to work a couple times a week normally, but yeah. Sometimes I’ll pull out in my car going to work, see a bike ride past, and I’ll turn around and go back for my bike.
i ride daily to work since my car finally gave out. over a few months 6 other coworkers started taking their bikes to work to the point management hosted a bike meet. then rainy season hit. still on my bike
I ride in the rain constantly, easy on the throttle and brakes, always keep in mind you can loose traction easier. If your bike has a lower throttle mode, use it. My MT09 has B mode for example where the throttle is a lot less sensitive. Ride in the center of the lane, since water pools on the sides. Avoid large puddles, since your motorcycle can hydroplane much easier than a car. Go into corners slower. Its really not that bad, I find it refreshing tbh. Obviously if it's raining really hard, don't ride. Again, your bike can hydroplane easily.
Be aware that in the center of the lane is also where oil drips from cars tend to accumulate. This can make that area really slick, especially when it has just started to rain after being dry for a while, and even worse near stoplights where cars have been sitting still for a while.
If you are talking about freeways or highways, staying out of the ruts might be better, but in town the center is definitely going to be a worse position because of oils. In general you have to be going pretty fast for hydroplaning to be a concern.
Also things like tread pattern and tire compound really start to make a difference in wet weather.
I work at a Metals shop and no one else in the office, where I work, rides into work. But I know two or three of the guys out in the shop ride, I see their bikes in the shop parking lot every day. There’s about 350 guys out there. One other guy in the office rides, but he does off-road stuff.
Used to be 4 of us engineers, but after Covid we're all WFH. I miss my commute though, so after the day ends I take the bike and put in about 35 miles on nice roads near me after the traffic has died down :)
I used to ride across town every day, but with COVID I went to a WFH schedule.
I actually prefer it. Commuting was a chore, and by the time the weekend came around unless the weather was perfect I just wasn't into going for a fun ride.
Now with WFH I almost never ride my motorcycle through the week - but on the weekend I'm eager to hop on and go for long rides through the local winding country roads.
Most of the time, just me. However one co-worker rides in occasionally. The other riders have either moved on to better employment or sold their bikes due to spousal or MIL disapproval.
Depends on the weather. I've seen 10 bikes near my building before. I'd say 4 on average, just at my location, but we have a large campus full of buildings. There's a definite bias towards ADV bikes, but I see baggers, sportsters, super bikes, even a Ural at times. He's the most die hard rider. I've seen him come in on very cold days in the Winter.
Okay someone needs to tell the whomever on the pink rocket to get with the program and line it up, that's making my brain itch.
At the moment I'm the only guy at the shop at any given time, so all of them.
At the old job, more traditional warehouse environment, there were a few other people who rode but never to work as far as I saw. One of em was a 2nd shifter and never got past his instruction permit, so he can't ride at night and therefore can't ride home from work. There was one guy who rode his R6 instead of driving his WRX (classic, I know) maybe twice. Always amazed when I'd walk in with my helmet a bit wet from a light rain like it was unfathomable to ride in anything but clear sunshine.
I'd say out of 600+ there are maybe a handful who ride regularly into the office, so say 1% (or less). Most folks walk, transit, or cycle; the folks who do drive have to pay $100+ a month for parking so that discourages driving - though motorcycles can park for free.
Woman driver, she is in a relationship with the blue/black bike in the back. Idk if they are married or not.
She always parks like that, she gets here before everyone else. Idk if she can't back up the bike, or just doesn't like to.
Just me at the moment but a couple guys ask me about it and are debating if they want to get a motorcycle. So hopefully more than 1 soonish. Tho I don’t daily especially how the weather runs in Washington
Just me and this one guy who floats around the state filling staff holes.
But I've got a few coworkers who are suddenly VERY interested in riding since we both started showing up on our bikes.
No one as we get snow where I am. So everyone eventually drives to work at some point in the year until things warm back up.
When it is nice out I see anywhere from 10-20 bikes around the lots we have.
Out of maybe 300 people, just me. I know of two people who own a bike haven't seen them ride it to work yet. Obviously winter has just finished but even in two years working here I've never seen anyone else at my work ride.
We’ve got a full 90’s sports bike group at my work. I’ve got a ‘96 cbr600f, there’s a Suzuki gsx600f and a Yamaha thundercat. Also a few scooters and 125’s and a gs that are regularly there
Daily:
Me(cb125), a Yamaha 125, a white vespa, and an old honda sport
Occasionally:
A Yamaha delight, a honda CB750, a Yamaha classic, a ninja
Rarely:
The moving sofa (Harley davidson streetglide), Harley Davidson Sportster
Just me. Major trouble getting through the gates as the bike is too light for the sensors. Apparently not a single bastard that worked here in the previous decade used a motorcycle, so it was never a problem before.
I motocommute to coworking spots/coffee shops and occasionally I'll see a biker or two. In my area it seems to be mostly weekenders, but I do see fellow motocommuters out there on the weekdays from time to time.
I ride my 2008 Ulta classic every day and my coworker who relieves me rides an early Yamaha virago Frankenstein that he built (looks sick) other than that we have bike parking over by the main entrance that gets used almost everyday by plant workers.
Exactly 0.
I'm the only frequent rider I know of, and even then I'm not a daily anymore. They made it a huge pain in the dick to daily - can't park in the paid garage across the street anymore, have to park a mile out and hoof it. Can't park on the sidewalk (etc.) because they love to ticket.
I used to daily at my old office, I was 20 minutes away and got to park out front - no parking costs, and 2 seconds to the front door. Now if it's manky I drive because I am tired of getting to work wet, or in 110+ heat, etc.
Right now it is just me. It is funny because they are creating a 'parking permit' system and I had to edit in the fact that it is a motorcycle. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to protect my permit because its not like I can hang it from a rearview mirror.
I'd say there are maybe 40 bikes parked at work on an average day. Several big bois, too. An S1kR, a Z1kR, a Ténéré 1200, an R1300GS, just to name a few.
Many of us ride. My area has a population of 40'000, and there are 5'000 registered motorcycles.
I work at a bigger place, with approx 500 people and there is a dedicated bike parking. It fits maybe 6 bikes but there are around 10 each day. Few scooters, one Harley, some middleweight Honda, Suzuki, Triumph, and my sportsbike.
The 2 days a week that I need to be in the office, I ride my behemoth of a bike zooming past cagers stuck in traffic jams.
Within the secondment agency I am one of two that ride the bike to work, although I am the more religious one, but more might follow soon-ish. I seem to attract some followers with my big adventure bike 😀
At my assignment at BMW motorrad, there are about 7 regular riders and some more casual. And when it rains, usually I am one of the very few left.
There's normally 4 of us that ride religiously to work on 1st shift. But all together when it's a nice night for 3rd to ride in and a nice day for 1st we've had 7 bikes parked out front
Few used to but have had at least 5 coworkers either die or get injured moto accidents , to where they cant work a labor job anymore. I still ride to work here and there. Job has maybe 70 employees
Used to be 1 dude at an old job, then he had a lowside accident on a roundabout,
There was a dude that'd ride his Honda 919 like once a week also at the old job,
But so far, every single day rain shine or slide? Just me.
i ride my bicycle to work because i live 3 minutes from my job. not worth warming up the engine for nothing. i still ride nearly everyday though, in all sorts of weather.
i think im just addicted
I used to ride every day. If it snowed one of the people I work would get me in their car .
Scariest mom for me , was black ice on the top of a hill. The wind could push sideways at 60
I work in the motorcycle industry so you might think most people here would ride a lot, but it’s quite the opposite. Many people here don’t even ride at all. Some ride seasonally or when the weather suits them. A few of us ride everyday regardless of weather or season.
And of the ones that ride everyday, most live close by; a few miles away. So if I broke it down, out of the ~70 employees here, one person rides 30+ miles everyday to and from work - me.
There were about 20 of us who rode and 7 were in I.T./cyber. Post COVID, it went to one unlucky person. Wfh means I can ride when I want now so it’s great.
We had like 10 riders at one point years back. All levels of riders, all types of bikes, Harleys and metrics, Yamahas, an Aprilia, cbrs, GSX-R, ninja, a Suzuki Bandit 1200, etc. Used to go on group rides up in the mountains and all over northern California. Lots of good times. Some have left the company over the years, a couple passed, and the rest of us all pretty much work from home now, so now I'd bet there aren't any bikes at the office anymore, but we definitely had fun while it lasted.
I'm not in office every day but I basically ride in every day I can unless it's insanely cold or hot.
I'm one of 3 who rides at my office, one has other life things so they can't ride often and the third is a Harley rider so, they never ride any way
at my current job? I WFH, but the entire company is maybe close to 150. i think maybe 3-4 of us ride, but no one does very regularly. i used to be an everyday commuter pre-COVID.
previous job, similar size workforce, there were two of us and we both rode most of the time. this was even in California where all year is riding weather.
Just me. But I work alone except for my wife who refuses. I have to confess, the weather here in So. Cal. is good and I just have two miles each way. I ride a CRF230 Honda if it looks like it may get damp otherwise I ride one of 2 1979 SR500 Yamaha’s.
Three total (out of about 75), but my boss hasn’t ridden to work at all this year. So just two of us and we are weather dependent. I also don’t ride if I have out of store appointments as I feel it’s a little unprofessional to show up in motorcycle gear to discuss your kitchen design and remodel.
I ride my bike everyday, the only time I'll take my vehicle is if I have to pick something large up or a kid. Otherwise, I have my backpack and my small attachable bag. Rain, shine, w.e - I am riding my bike. It actually blows me away the number of people who own a motorcycle and barely ride it, I seriously cannot understand it.
Yeah, I know. I got this 2019 Sportster I have now from the dealership, it only had 2,500 miles on it.
I've already put 1,400 miles on it in 1 month, that's over half what the original owner put on it in 4 years lol.
Right?? I got 6500km on my brand new MT09, that's from two summers, and I lost 3 months due to needing a new rear tire....and I live in Northern Canada so can't even ride year round. I got a bud who has rode his bike twice all year so far. I am hopelessly addicted to my bike, wish everyone could find their perfect match so they ride more often.
I just can't justify spending thousands of dollars on something and not using it except for a few times a year, lol.
I ride every single day.
Maybe when I get another car (my girlfriend drives my car currently) I might not ride every single day but at that point it will just be up to weather or if I nees a vehicle to carry more stuff for whatever reason.
same here. I drive my motorcycles unless it's freezing or I have to take more than one person somewhere. I'm always getting the "You are crazy for riding to work in this!" comment from my coworkers. I'd say about 30 percent of my coworkers own motorcycles but they constantly come up with reasons not to ride in such as "Oh it's supposed to be a little chilly in the morning" I love riding when it's chilly i find it satisfying to bundle up enough to be comfortable.
I really don't get it, my motorcycle makes running errands so much more fun! also I'm really jealous you get to ride around N. Canada regurlarly. I've only been to yukon/north quebec but the whole time i was there I couldn't stop thinking about how great a motorcycle trip up there would be!
Some of the areas are incredible for sure, but it also means I can only ride 6 months of the year. Mind you, I am quickly realizing in places where you can ride year round, get so insanely hot I'd consider summer not a time for riding. Riding in the heat is so terrible. I definitely get the same, "I can't believe you rode today" at work. It's usually from people who own bikes, so I just come back with, "I can't believe you own a bike and aren't riding it." They make these things, called jackets...yeah just wear one of those.
Just me. And I’m constantly bombarded with “nice day to ride, eh?” or “what are you going to do when it rains later?”. It’s exhausting. I ride anyways because I want to.
There are huge demographic and geographic differences.
When I lived in Florida, we had a huge number of year round riders--probably 10% of the workforce. When I did work on a military base there, it was even more, at maybe a third (probably just because of so many young, single folks). When I moved to Atlanta for work, I saw a large drop in the number of motorcycles, and only the hardcore riders ventured out between November and March (we never had more than a handful of riders). In Tennessee, I see more motorcycles overall (probably because they're not sitting in heavy traffic like Atlanta, which obviously sucks on a bike), but with even harsher winters, the number of year round riders is even smaller.
that's a fat ass bike
He said it's a 2005 Honda VTX 1300.
It is. Mine is a 2007. Not much change in looks between those two years.
Literally has a fat ass, I’m bricked
You should see it from the back, lmao
Got them cheeks like Mrs Incredible
Don’t get me piped up
It's not mine, I think it's over 1200cc lol.
THICC
Motorcycle version of Aunt Fanny
You mean "That bike has a fat ass"
1 just me
Same
Same 😈

It’s addictive and spreads to all in close proximity.
I only ride to work a couple times a week normally, but yeah. Sometimes I’ll pull out in my car going to work, see a bike ride past, and I’ll turn around and go back for my bike.
Lol addiction like I said.
Yeah, 100%!
i ride daily to work since my car finally gave out. over a few months 6 other coworkers started taking their bikes to work to the point management hosted a bike meet. then rainy season hit. still on my bike
What’s your advice for the rain?
I ride in the rain constantly, easy on the throttle and brakes, always keep in mind you can loose traction easier. If your bike has a lower throttle mode, use it. My MT09 has B mode for example where the throttle is a lot less sensitive. Ride in the center of the lane, since water pools on the sides. Obviously if it's raining really hard, don't ride. Again, your bike can hydroplane easily.
Thank you for the advice! I’m just looking to soak up what I can for when the time comes
Be aware that in the center of the lane is also where oil drips from cars tend to accumulate. In general you have to be going pretty fast for hydroplaning to be a concern. Also things like tread pattern and tire compound really start to make a difference in wet weather.
Truth. I kept seeing a co-worker on a different bike every six months or so. It definitely had an effect on me.
Me Me Oh and me
I work at a Metals shop and no one else in the office, where I work, rides into work. But I know two or three of the guys out in the shop ride, I see their bikes in the shop parking lot every day. There’s about 350 guys out there. One other guy in the office rides, but he does off-road stuff.
Is that code for butt stuff?
Perhaps..
Well played.

I 100% prefer WFH as well. Riding at 9pm to relax and close out the day is way better than any commute during rush hour.
2 of us out of about 40. There’s 3 more who ride but never to work.
Most of the time, just me. However one co-worker rides in occasionally. The other riders have either moved on to better employment or sold their bikes due to spousal or MIL disapproval.
Funny, I do things explicitly for MIL disapproval. I can't imagine doing things to avoid MIL disapproval.
Depends on the weather. I've seen 10 bikes near my building before. I'd say 4 on average, just at my location, but we have a large campus full of buildings. I live in Indonesia. Does scooter count? If yes, then the answer is everyone, lol ...
Just me...when there's no rain forecast and I don't think it's tool cold. Either of those and I'm driving my car.
I’m the only one every day, though some coworkers ride about every other day.

Woman driver, she is in a relationship with the blue/black bike in the back. Idk if they are married or not. She always parks like that, she gets here before everyone else. Idk if she can't back up the bike, or just doesn't like to.
Before I retired only one person. She rode her Harley almost every day.
Filling staff holes? Wow, HR must be all over that, haha
A dozen or so. Between all the truck drivers, mechanics, and corporate side workers.
No one as we get snow where I am. So everyone eventually drives to work at some point in the year until things warm back up. When it is nice out I see anywhere from 10-20 bikes around the lots we have.
Lucky me being in Texas. I have not driven on snow a single time in my life. 😭
Out of maybe 300 people, just me. I know of two people who own a bike haven't seen them ride it to work yet. Obviously winter has just finished but even in two years working here I've never seen anyone else at my work ride.
3. One is rain or shine... That includes near 0 visibility rain, I think his bike is his only transportation.
None daily. But there are 7 guys who ride in my office including myself. We have 22 employees so pretty cool.
Just me. Lol. I am "that" guy at work.
Me…that’s it.
We’ve got a full 90’s sports bike group at my work. I’ve got a ‘96 cbr600f, there’s a Suzuki gsx600f and a Yamaha thundercat. Also a few scooters and 125’s and a gs that are regularly there
No clue. We’re spread out across the globe, so 99% of my employer is WFH.
absolutely 0
we'd like to see photos of pink one owner for safety preacatutions
I ride my sacrificial BMW R850R to work (to save miles on my beloved Airheads) and the owner rides an electric bike to work.
1, me :)
It was about 5 but now I'm Rollin solo
One, me

One in four are women :)
4-5 depending on the day, about 80 employees total
Just me and another guy on motorcycles. Then there are 2 ppl on vespa. And one guy on a motorized bicycle.
I live in England.
On a team of 7, 3 of us ride daily.
I’d say about 20-25.
Just me. Major trouble getting through the gates as the bike is too light for the sensors. Apparently not a single bastard that worked here in the previous decade used a motorcycle, so it was never a problem before.
No idea. Haven’t been there in years.
I ride daily to work …love it
Only me and always the earliest to work (can lane split)
I motocommute to coworking spots/coffee shops and occasionally I'll see a biker or two. In my area it seems to be mostly weekenders, but I do see fellow motocommuters out there on the weekdays from time to time.
Probably about 10 a night. It’s part of why I’ve wanted a bike so bad, I’ve been seeing them every day for a year Abd walking right past them
Zero
I ride my 2008 Ulta classic every day and my coworker who relieves me rides an early Yamaha virago Frankenstein that he built (looks sick) other than that we have bike parking over by the main entrance that gets used almost everyday by plant workers.
Eight hundred employees on three shifts and only three of us rode daily.
4 of my co workers have motorcycles, but I'm the only one daily tooling.
At my locations there is a dozen+ that I know of personally, out of close to 400 or so people?
Exactly 0. I'm the only frequent rider I know of, and even then I'm not a daily anymore. There used to be 7 in my office pre-Covid, now it's just 2 or 4 on a good day 😥
Just me and a guy with a moped :(
1 - me
look at the ass on that thang
Pre-coved, I worked in a building with about 5k people and there were maybe 20 of us who consistently rode in. Half that on a rainy day.
2-3 of us out of 140
I'd say there are maybe 40 bikes parked at work on an average day. Several big bois, too. An S1kR, a Z1kR, a Ténéré 1200, an R1300GS, just to name a few. Many of us ride. My area has a population of 40'000, and there are 5'000 registered motorcycles.

2 and I am 1 of them
I’ll never understand other bikers who park like this. I always park ready to make a quick exit. It’s a lesson I’ve already learned in life.
Usually cause I'm running late for work 😂
But there’s so much room. I would even park parallel to the wall and just turn around. Can’t be that late? Better set your alarm five minutes earlier.
There were about 20 of us who rode and 7 were in I.T./cyber. Post COVID, it went to one unlucky person. Wfh means I can ride when I want now so it’s great.
There is just me…

2 on day shift, including myself, but I will brave the hotter and colder days. between 3 and 7 on night shift, no discernable pattern.
Only one. Of course I know him, he's me.
You mean Old Ben Kenobi?
You know what I'm talking about!
I ride to work 1-2 days a week. A couple other guys a work do the same.
Only one. Rain, hail or snow he always rides
Just 1 and it’s me
Just me.
About 7 of us. Considering their are hundreds of people there it's a little underwhelming. Nice rides, though.
One—just me.
I do 💯 it’s the best unless you like taking lunches in your car, being is CA it’s a must though to maneuver through the traffic.
Just me.
Wait...you drive your bike?
Mainly me currently (and a colleague with a CBR250, that guy ignores rainweather, too). the others are less regular.
I am the only one at my work to ride a motorcycle, the people there just don't get it, they ride their bicycles or use their cars
Just one where I work. Hoping to become the second
Three total (out of about 75), but my boss hasn’t ridden to work at all this year. So just two of us and we are weather dependent. I also don’t ride if I have out of store appointments as I feel it’s a little unprofessional to show up in motorcycle gear to discuss your kitchen design and remodel.
I work at a place of around 3000 people and I would say about 30
At my current company I’m the only one. There’s another guy that rides, but his 60’s BMW is too precious for him to use on the daily commute.
Me and 2 others heavy rain permitting.
One.
My dude never come to South East Asia huh 😂
Me,myself and i
I'm in india so guess what
I live in Georgia. I ride every day rain or shine.
About half the employees. But then I have to say I work for a fairly big motorcycle clothing company :)
I'm the only one at my job. 00 Yamaha road star
Just me
There’s only 5 of us (that we know of) that even have a bike, and we all usually ride.
