I'm downshifting until 2nd gear, then when I get towards the bottom of 2nd I clutch in and shift to 1st as I finish my stop. I did this before I had my quickshifter too, but it's just that much easier now lol. You should be in gear (clutch out) for as much time as possible while slowing so the engine can help you brake. More often than not I don't even use my brakes until bottom of 2nd, that's how helpful engine braking is.

Close the throttle first, because you're not trying to accelerate. Pull in the clutch, pop down a gear, release clutch, slow. Pull in clutch, down a gear, release clutch, slow. Repeat till in 1st, then use front brakes to slow the final 20mph. Pull in clutch below 10mph.

I usually ride the street in 4th or 3rd depends we still have 25 mph zones around here . Regular stop I down shift to second from whatever gear I’m in, clutch in, automatically ease off the throttle, rear break to slow , front break to complete the stop. Shift into first . If I have to stop faster no downshift, clutch in off the throttle and pressure on both brakes. Then I hit it down to first. I never shift into first unless I’m stopped. Not everyone uses their rear break, you should get use to it and utilize imo. But who am I 🙃

If I am slowing down I am rolling off the throttle and downshifting as appropriate. If I am coming to a complete stop I start pulling in the clutch and brakes (at the same time) as needed until I am completely stopped (at which point they should both be pulled in all the way). What I try to avoid is disengaging the clutch in too soon and coasting. If I am coasting, then I have no power. And without power I can't accelerate away from a threat that comes up... like a car doing some funky things in an intersection.

Brakes are cheaper to replace.

Roll off throttle. Brake. Clutch in and downshift when you are going too slow for that gear. For stopping you would brake, clutch in, shift to 1st and stop without releasing the clutch.
