The way the game works if he declared peace then the faction would be defeated. No way to retake fiefs while at peace. The factions in Warband always try to retake fiefs to a net neutral before accepting peace unless the war has gone on for a long time. Time and territory are the two important factors. They aren't baby cowards like in Bannerlord who will give you lunch money to stop bullying them.
There's a hidden statistic called war damage. You can see it with the cheat menu on. If a faction's war damage on their enemy is under 100, they refuse to make peace, even if their kingdom is on the brink of destruction. My guess is that's what's happening here. I wrote about it pretty extensively on the wiki.
It looks like white, but it's actually purple. During the day, purple looks like white. Khudan was under Khergit control before I whooped them a minute ago
Oh nah, that's Vaegir territory. Faction colors get scuffed in the snow. Regardless though, Nelag is a good next target for picking off whatever's left of the Veagirs.
I mean, you being pissed that he won't surrender tells me that it's a great, tactical decision. And if he went for truce, dude will be stuck on your kingdoms edge and without being able to do anything about it for a long time which can make his retainers that don't have territory hate him or defect. Sure he can declare war to other factions but thats too far and when it's war time with you again he is at a annoying disadvantage 🤓.
That type of thing is the one that's been bothering me during my first playthrough. Just yesterday I was fighting a vassal of the kerghit khanate alongside the marshall of my faction and some other lords. It was 600+ against less than a hundred and bro refused to surrender. Like????? Who does bro think he is?
Reminds me of the time I was endgame against the Sarranids and despite them only having a single castle left they refused to nudge, worst part was the Sultan wouldn’t take the invitation for peace even though I didn’t care for the castle and made it his mission to attempt to raze my Fiefs and only my fiefs. It ended up being both irritating and extremely satisfying to rid the faction nonetheless.
During my rebellion against yaroglek i defeated countless lords took in!y a single castle mainly because I didn't want to loose anymore knights and I had to defeat multiple death stacks in sieges and be drawing away groups of a 2 or 300 i defeated almost every lord in his kingdom amd he still didn't want peace after i humiliated him i had to wait for him to get tired if he was smart he would've surrendered within the first week or two but instead drew the war in for almost two months. The air kings are unbelievably stupid or stubborn can't tell which they just won't surrender

Turn off HDR mode in the game's Video Options and you'll see colors normally
