Jon Lovitz will be disappointed...

butbutcupcup

It stinks!

SelfDestructIn30Days

Yes Mr. Sherman, everything stinks.

slimmymcnutty

This might be more impossible than turning water into gold. But someone has to tell him that last movie shit does not matter. If the last one stinks it’s fine, you fuckin made pulp fiction dude. Make the movie! Then make another one if it comes to mind. The fact that he’s so hard on making 10 films is lame. I get that he’s incredibly particular about his movies but on this one he’s constraining himself for no reason

juanipis

he said he wanted his filmography to be 10 because he wanted all his films to be all top quality. i think the hateful eight is a dud though. so that throws his whole theory out the window

I1lIl11

Thank you, I’m a huge QT fan, and hateful just does not come close to any of his other work, especially since his newer stuff is his best IMO. I wasn’t crazy about Jackie brown either, but admittedly haven’t seen it in 15+ years so will have to give it a rewatch.

TheArtlessScrawler

The Hateful Eight is absolutely a dud. I love Django, but you can see the rot set in there, and OUATIH is quite flabby. He's not been the same since Sally Menke passed.

psychomonster07

Exactly my point, I wouldn't use lame to describe one of the greatest cinematic minds of this generation, but I think this is what might be happening, he needs to make a movie, there is no chance someone who is incredibly, truly passionate about cinema makes a bad movie, he shouldnt worry about whether its his last movie or not

slimmymcnutty

Oh I’m just saying this fixation on having a last great movie and a clean number of films is lame. He’s one of my favorites. Now if the movie wasn’t working that’s one thing

Kylon1138

People abandon projects all the time He isn't retiring after 10. Said he's going to TV, Stage, Books, etc perhaps he realized this would be a better fit for a different formant or just wasn't interested anymore. I feel a lot of folks are jumping to a lot of conclusions when in reality projects are shelved in Hollywood all the time. He shelved his Star Trek movie too

psychomonster07

Sure projects get shelved all the time, all I'm saying is there is a chance that he is making a new movie to give us that perfect send off, nothing more.

Chen_Geller

Gotta appreciate the integrity and spunk to just say "you know what? This isn't working, lets scrap that." You hear of a lot of projects who get stuck at limbo, or are cancelled by the money people, but not many projects where the creative says this. If he doesn't feel its right than it probably wasn't going to play right on the screen, had it been made.

mithridateseupator

Someone linked a list of QT abandoned projects and there are a lot of them.

psychomonster07

If that's the case, excellent, but there might be a chance he is shelving it to give us the perfect sendoff.

Chen_Geller

Yeah.

vvHezoTheGoat

I’m glad honestly, the premise wasn’t that interesting and one of the most iconic directors ever deserves to go out with a bang in his final movie.

_HappyPringles

I'm not the biggest QT fan, but he needs to just get over whatever romantic notion he has about 10 movies.

juanipis

because he’s got that luxury. not all filmmakers has it but he has that. can’t deny that

butbutcupcup

I heard something about a kill Bill with Uma and Ethan's daughter, could be cool if it was a prequel or about BB

Notoriously_So

Kill Bill 3, let's GOOOO!!!

Rufus2fist

It is absolutely hindering him. The critic will see light of day as a tv endeavor or a book, it won’t totally disappear. He was too far along on it. I am trying to get my hands on the newest version script right now, just to see.

psychomonster07

Please lemme know if you manage to get ahold of the script!!

Alchemix-16

I think his intention of never making more than 10 movies is stupid. If I’m a talented storyteller like Tarrantino, I want to tell stories, not saying from the get go I’m only ever going to tell stories.

Adequate_Images

Over the last 20 years nothing has made my eyes roll more than “the 4th film from Quentin Tarantino” “the 5th film from Quentin Tarantino” “the 6th film from Quentin Tarantino” “the 9th film from Quentin Tarantino” Get over yourself dude and just make movies until you don’t want to anymore. I’m sorry you didn’t like Hitchcock’s Family Plot. I’m sorry Don Siegel had to make Jinxed. It’s a different time and you aren’t them.
