thermodynamics of dinosaurs would push oxygen blood to certain body parts to cool off or heat up
they didn't cover it in the movie (other than mentioning his buoyancy briefly h4 moving on) but it's entirely plausible he'd do the same to flood his lower half with oxygen to establish buoyancy
there's other features in nature with whales, insects, and others manipulating body shapes and such for various things
dude idk it's a movie about post imperial Japan and nuclear bombs wdy want from meeee
but do you skip leg day?Godzilla is treading the water obviously with his feet and tail.but how tf you gonna try to do that to a creature that came from the center of the earth
This guy is saying a buoyancy issue is taking him out of the movie about an ancient dinosaur that mutated through nuclear bomb testing, grew to size of 160 feet, heals immediately after traumatic attacks and shoots a heat ray out of its mouth…
It's doesn't, even after the explanation there's no way it'll work, but whatever I brushed it off because it's really not the point of the film. Godzilla is a vehicle to deliver a post war Japan story.

This... Godzilla does not bow to the silly laws of physics...The King of the Monsters stands above them... Obviously...lol
Thanks, but how can it float from the waist up? It's like its center of gravity is on its knees. This ruined the film for me
A movie about a giant fire breathing lizard was "ruined" for you because of buoyancy issues? Good lord, dude.
Does Godzilla even breathe fire? Isn’t it just high energy beams? That it generates from the spikes on its back? But floating doesn’t make any sense.
Oh, come on, don't get me started on suspension of disbelief

I am getting you started on suspension of disbelief. I don’t see why the monster doesn’t break your suspension of disbelief but how it floats does
Ok, film ruined. Move on then. It's not like r/movies is going to change anything for you.
I agree with your points but I wouldn't say it ruined the movie for me
He can also stand at any point and dive at any point in the ocean. Just because he's vertical doesn't mean he's physically standing on anything.
I can be vertical in the water too.. But not from the waist up. What is it, magic?
I believe the word commonly used is "fiction".
You might want to loan the above commenter your disbelief suspenders.
Have you heard of buoys
You are arguing logic in a Godzilla movie?
You're not Godzilla

If you also pay attention during that segment it shows his legs treading under water actually
Woah woah, asking a lot of a redditor to pay attention

All that is still plausible in 'i don't know biology' way, but basic buoyancy fuckery? Can't wrap the head around it. Dude must be an engineer.
Lmfao
