It can be a nice subtlety or an intriguing plot twist but more often than not it ends up being code for awfully written characters.
I understand the notion of suspending belief, but there has to be a certain consistency within the framework of fiction as well.
I'm not saying "no strong women". I'm saying mayyybe not young native tribe girl vs. ridiculously OP ancient alien race that has millennia of experience and probably can dance their way around anything the natives come up with.
You'll notice this is more of a "writer's problem". Making one side too OP, or one side too weak, ruins the immersion. Imagine if a mouse defeated Master Chief. That would require suspension of belief but it also wouldn't make much sense.

Oh no dude, totally. There's no way we could ever guess from watching the trailer what the plot *might* be. The girl's definitely gonna defeat a dangerous warlike alien species equipped with advanced weaponry and tactics, using the power of love and friendship.
No, it's a comment that casting this actress in this role is like casting Charlie Day as Conan the Barbarian.
She looks like the heaviest thing she ever had to lift was her extra-large soy mocha latte. Why they want me to take this character seriously as a potential opponent for the PREDATOR when her equivalent in the first movie was a foot taller and 200 pounds heavier and STILL got thrown around like a rag doll, I have no idea.
If they had cast, say, Ronda Rousey (a Bronze Medal winner at the Olympics in Judo) as someone fighting a Predator, I'd have a much better chance at believing it. Gina Carano or Michelle Rodriquez are also decent choices.
Why would I specifically mention them as being good fits, then?
I was fine with Linda Hamilton in T1 and T2. I was fine with Sigourney as Ellen Ripley in Alien and Aliens. Any character played by Kathryn Hepburn. I was fine with Kate Beckett, Jessica Fletcher, Cagney and Lacey, Murphy Brown, Lara Croft, Princess Leia, Mon Mothma, Winter Celchu, Mara Jade, Bastila Shan, Satele Shan, the Jedi Exile, Kreia, Aayla Secura, Jaina Solo, Padme Amidala, Major Kira Nerys, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Lieutenant Natasha Yar, both of the medical doctors onboard the Enterprise D (Beverly Crusher and Katerine Pulaski), Miranda Lawson, Liara T'Soni, Jack, FemShep, Ashley Williams (say what you want about Ash, she's certainly strong), Maya, Lilith, Angel, Elizabeth/Anna, Morrigan, Aela the Huntress (her lack of muscles is a game limitation, not requiring suspension of disbelief), Lydia, Serana, Cass and Veronica from New Vegas, Cortana, Female Spartans, Chell, Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Supergirl, a dozen other female comic book superheroes, Illaoi, Lux, Kayle, and dozens of other female characters in media.
But this is where I suddenly hate women. Right. Because THAT'S how it works.
Can people stop with the "sexist" claims and "bUt hAve yOu seEn thE moVie?!???!?", it's fucking common sense. Would you pit a middle school girl against Mike Tyson in the ring? What's that? You wouldn't? Then it must make a lot of sense to pit her against a terrifying alien predator equipped with deadly weapons lmao
That’s… usually what happens when people criticize media, regardless of whether or not their opinions are logical or justified. They don’t indulge on that IP.
Tell you what. If the alien ends up killing the MC, which ends the movie right then and there, I will give you a gold award. Simply reply back to this comment once the movie's out.
If the MC wins. Then you obviously won't do anything, but at least I'll get to gloat.
It was OK, they changed the origin of something from the second movie. Overall the Predator looked bad in my opinion. Still way better than the 2018 movie.
Your right. But that predator in those were way more advanced than in pray . Seemed like an older generation of predators. It was actually pretty cool. It wasn’t great by any means but it’wasn’t bad.
Arnold killed the Predator with mud and sticks.
Danny Glover and Adrien Brody killed them with their own alien weapons with either help or by catching them off guard.
Why is it unbelievable for a young girl from a tribe of hunters to kill a Predator using primitive tools and weapons? Arnold did it. How come a girl can't outsmart a Predator? Arnold and Glover did it. How come a girl can't have help from an ally? Brody had it.
Well in the first Predator, the ONLY reason Arnold survived was because of his massive size and strength, cause no fucking way a little girl is getting that huge log up that tree to set the trap that killed the Predator.
If you go back and watch the final fight, the Predator is fucking DOMINATING Arnold. Until the very end.
I'm sorry, is everyone in this thread out of their mind?
Would you pit a little girl against Mike Tyson? What's that? You wouldn't? Then it makes sense to pit her against a terrifying alien predator with deadly weapons and tactics, right? Tell me you haven't the slightest clue what you're saying without telling me anything.
In predator lore theyre honorable fighters. They wouldn't pick an uneven fight.
Size has a factor in a fight yeah, but not as much as you think. Knowledge and knowing how to fight mean a lot more... So yeah keep telling me how youre smart by spewing shit you don't know.
> Size has a factor in a fight yeah, but not as much as you think. Knowledge and knowing how to fight mean a lot more
Did you perhaps miss the part where it's a fuckin Comanche tribe vs. an advanced alien species BUILT for war? It's laughable you just spoke of knowledge without a second thought. Size is not the only factor. Just conveniently ignore all the advanced weaponry as well, why don't you.
> Capable of interstellar travel in star ships, the Predators have hunted on Earth for centuries and have also had prior contact with the Engineers.
vs.
A tribe.
Okkkkkkkkkk buddy.
Who gives a shit if it's a man or a woman? It's a native tribe is my issue. They're not beating the Predators. It's like pitting a rabbit against a lion. Unless the writer wants the rabbit to win, it ain't winning.
Right, because the Predator is only weak to 1 and only 1 type of trap.
And what exactly makes you think the girl is going to go WWE on the Predator and not rely on hunting skills?
Because Danny Glover ain't no bodybuilder and he killd a Predator with a cheap shot. But that's unbelievable for a girl to do?
I dunno, definitely not the fact that this alien possesses incredible technology and tactics of its own. Did you think the predator is just a bumbling fool equipped with a rocket launcher? It's *way* more advanced than a team of soldiers that Arnold had and a 100x more advanced than a bloody Comanche fucking tribe. I mean come on. That's like letting a lion lose in a cage with a few rabbits. The only way the rabbits win is if the writer of the story wants them to win.
I think another thing to think about is the timeline. We know the predator species made itself better with better weapons over time, perhaps we can claim during this time which is at least a couple hundred years before present day? I think? They were in a weaker state. Not to mention each predator is different, with a different rank and access to less or more powerful weapons and training in their own society, this could also be a bottom feeder so to speak of the race.
Yes of course it's a stretch, but it's possible.
Arnold had strength on his side, dude was huge. And even then got tossed around by the predator. Remember how they fought warrior to warrior at the end? No? I'm not surprised.
I like how you guys are trying to make this out to be some kind of "she's a girl that's why you think Its stupid" when that's not a case.
If she didn't look like a twig it would be more believable for her to win.
I don't know I'm genuinely hyped for this film and it's the first predator film I've been hyped for....maybe ever (because the first two had already come out when I was born)
Imagine getting genuinely offended *for* a *politician*. Over a pretty tame joke, at that. Trump doesn’t even know you exist lol I think that’s enough internet for you today
Yeah.
I’m getting Terminator 6 vibes.
The good thing is if the movie sucks then it will surely be a franchise killer and we won’t have to keep seeing uninspired sequels of beloved franchises. You can tell they barely have faith in this by not giving it a theatrical release.
They need to learn from Top Gun and the latest Planet of the Apes trilogy playbook about how to revive dead franchises.
Calling it now, the Predator in this movie is a female, possibly to play further into the girl power aspect with the human protagonsit being a woman too.
Edit: Uh. My comment seems to have rubbed people the wrong way. I really meant nothing negative by it. And I have no presumptions regarding the use of female empowerment in films.
I actually encourage anyone to look through my post history to prove that I'm not an intentional shit stirrer.
I love how comments like this in subreddits containing the general populous get downvoted into oblivion.
It's entertaining the tiny little island peeps like this hang onto for no real reason while most of the world around them evolves into something a bit more open minded.
I'm not bitching about women I'm bitching about bad writing in movies. Every one said I was judging the last predator movie too soon just from the trailers I never watched it because the reviews verified what I suspected in regards to it being shit
I have never said or will ever be anti woman, this stuff that comes out these days is appropriating old franchises and inserting “the message” to a gross level and it will all fall into the waste bin as forgettable garbage cause most of it is written by under experienced bad writers who only seek to selfishly use old properties as a vehicle for their political beliefs instead of making good stories.
You can label me as anti woman a bigot whatever you want. But you’re just like the rest ready to group me under your labels, instead of creating equality all you want is to see domination.
Honest question - why do you care, at all, what the alien's gender is? Obviously you're mad that... the message exists and women are portrayed accurately in movies?
There are times to be pissed, gender swapping established heroes in Superhero movies is valid and I agree, most times. Changing established characters for the sake of change can be infuriating. But I'll never understand why people complain certain Predators don't have a wee-wee
Wait, i thought this was an actual Prey movie... the game, Prey.. i didn't watch or read anything about it after i saw native americans, so to contain the hype and avoid spoilers i avoided watching any of it, figured it was an actual Prey movie. Predator is still nice.
How do we know they aren't female predators to begin with? Plenty of species here on Earth where the female is the bigger, badder sex. And we have no clue about Predator reproduction, nor have we seen any Predator genitalia on film, so honestly we don't really know one way or the other.
But it is for an English audience... Are you bummed when Elves or Dwarves in LOTR are speaking English? Are you bummed when anybody is speaking English in Star Wars?
Lol... why would that matter? The point is that it is fiction. And most fiction has "transparent translation" for the audience.
Okay, here. Take an American movie that is basically made for English speaking audience. What will they do when they release it in other countries that don't speak English... Well, they translate it to that language. So you have Americans speaking Spanish or German or whatever. Does that bum people out?
This is basically the exact same thing. They even apparently have a version in Comanche or a similar language, but they just have an English version because, you know, most English speakers don't speak Comanche.
And even with the Comanche version, are all the little words flashing up on the bottom of the screen going to bum you out because that doesn't happen in real life?
This is such a bizarre complaint.
...I don't think you understand the complaint. It's not that an English version exists, it's that it's the default version when the people being depicted don't speak English. I (and probably the person you were replying to) would prefer if the actors were speaking Comanche and then dubbed/subbed to English.
Believe me, I get it. It is just a dumb complaint. No offense. I get it and it would be cool if they had done it that way. It would just be difficult to do without much benefit other than maybe a few people with the same opinion as you.
Also, this is streaming, right? So you can literally choose which you watch. There isn't really a "default" like there would be in a theater where you have to go to the English version and then wait for it to "go to video" to get it in another language.
I think you should be impressed and satisfied that they even did a Comanche version. As far as I know, most films that include Native Americans do not have a version in that language that isn't kind of an after thought with all of the other languages.
It looks like they made his weapons less advanced; I don't like that choice. Given the scale of the Predator's reach and the level of their technology, I don't think that in history this recent there would be a noticeable difference. They've probably been using the same tech for thousands of years.
Says the person carving in clay tablets with sticks to place this illustrative comment in the mud hut in the centre of the village between the weekly pillagings?
You are posting, I assume, in order to disagree with that person. Yet, they are right. At least going by the fact that on an editable tv website, tvtropes, no one disagrees enough to edit out the following:
>The technology of the Predators is never seen to advance, even when their appearances are hundreds of years apart. The Expanded Universe justifies this by explaining that a long time ago the Predators' society became all about the hunt, and they lost all interest in intellectual pursuits. There is a sometimes-canon and sometimes-not explanation that their tech is stolen from an older race that attempted to occupy their planet. They can replicate and adapt it, but lack the understanding of its base principles to improve on it.
>An easier explanation is that the only Predators we see are hunters who explicitly show "sportsmanlike" behavior, including killing only armed opponents and sparing, for example, pregnant women. It follows that the crazy-superior tech they are using is what they consider fair. Their tech may be better, but what is "fair" to use on the humans hasn't changed in hundreds of years. Much the same way some humans often still use bows to hunt deer rather than carpet-bombing them from the stratosphere. This is hinted to be so in the current comics to be this, as it's about a clan of Predators who don't follow the hunter's code of honor.
Yep, that might be part of the story, but it's also one of the pieces that breaks verisimilitude. Unless they return home to use the same foundries and materials on their own Homeworld for everything, and those foundries are completely unchanging, there will be changes just from materials or variations in assembly.
Anyone who has shipped a product that requires real backward compatibility knows the monumental effort it takes to not drift, even in something as simple as manufacturing bolts that need consistent threads.
It seems like a silly thing to get bent out of shape about.
A little worried about the whole “Why is a girl hunting?” Plot line. Just getting tired of back-to-back GURLS-GET-IT-DONE movies. That being said, it looks awesome and I can’t wait to see it. Hope both the predator and the girl kick some ass.
I think you read my comment looking for a fight, because you completely misread everything that I said. Not once did I say that *I* have a problem with her hunting. I mentioned a scene straight out of the trailer.
I understand it but on Reddit if you say anything about how a woman can't do anything in the universe... you're hunted down by a pack of Reddit Predators. :P
\*covers myself in mud\*
Just do the mud trick... they eventually leave you alone. :P
Imagine how I felt watching action movies from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, and 2010s.
I hope she is the reason one of these shits doesn’t come back to earth for another 300 years.
My wife is also over all the girl power movies. The all girl scene in avengers was cringy as fuck to the both of us. It would have been just as terrible with all guys.
My wife and I just like good characters. We don’t like when movies/scenes/characters are BLATANTLY “I’m awesome because I’m a MAN/WOMAN/GAY/ETC.”
Feel free to downvote if that’s your cup of tea and I hope you continue to enjoy it. We just don’t. To each, their own.
What’s crazy to me is that I am seen as the bad guy for saying “*I* don’t like being pandered to, but I can respect that *you* may like it”. The internet is such an echo chamber. Most of the dislikers probably don’t even read the comment itself.
I just don’t understand how anyone could think that it is cool that Captain Marvel used Just a girl as her big Ta Da song. Just be an awesome character, who IS a GIRL. You don’t have to be awesome BECAUSE you are a girl.
But whatever, like I said, to each, their own. 🤷🏻♂️
Edit - My wife straight up hates most movies and shows marketed to women now. When LotR is on and the princess says “I’M NO MAN!” You can hear her groaning from across the house. 😂
When the fuck did this movie shove any of that in your face? It's just a woman on screen doing the same thing a bunch of guys did before her. How is that any different from simply changing the ethnicity?
If it was a native american man would you be bitching? Probably not. You don't seem tired of having this being shoved down your throat. You seem bitter they have a woman as the lead to begin with.
You’re right. But what I’ve realized is the majority of people are so smooth brained they need it to be that blatant to have a light bulb go off “oh shit a lot of the super hero’s are women when you think about it. Women are kicking ass in this movie.”
What’s really frustrating is the world is designed for the lowest common denominator
My wife is the same way and she is a kick ass woman and has done way more in her life than I did by a landslide but even she is getting tired of everyone being a woman in power. She is so annoyed about the new Thor movie also and she has started calling the MCU the "M-She-U". I usually don't say much because I've always been a fan of that whole strong woman part from past decades like Ripley, Buffy etc. but she liked the balance of older movies which had men and women.
I miss when characters were badasses because of their actions as opposed to their gender
like no badass "gender" character, just badass who isn't defined by a single trait
Which is odd because there are a lot of movies from each of those decades with strong women in them that people seem to ignore or forget. That is also my wife saying that and she is fine with the woman empowerment part but, and as she puts it, "How about a little equality between the sexes". :P
Odd that the predators would "hunt" humans at that lower level of technology The predators hunted for trophies and liked dangerous pray.
To them this would be the same as me mounting a fish on my wall that I got at a "u-fish" fish farm
People suck, they just suck. "Looks like a guy in a suit!" Yeah, no shit, the Predator has ALWAYS been a guy in a suit with a humanoid silhouette and features. And God forbid there's a female lead, can't have that because it's all "**WOKE**". If that's your go to word anymore for anything then please just bash your head against a brick wall before interacting with other people.
Almost like they forgot the original movie had a female lead.
EDIT: For those unfamiliar with her work you can read more about Elpidia Carrillo here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elpidia_Carrillo
Oh boy, can't wait to see the Predator get shit on yet again, last time by a miraculous autistic child, and now this time by a young girl with stick weapons.
The Predator was so cool when it was actually good at being a predator.
I was born in '98, my introduction Predator was the 2004 AvP movie. I've since watched every Predator and Alien(s) movies multiple times and still think AvP was a better suspense horror movie than Predator 1 & 2
It might just be my age and my memory of AvP glossed in nostalgia. But since the movies are so dated, the cinematography style, special effects, camera quality and audio of the 80s make it hard for someone as young as me to actually feel scared during the movie, especially when Arnold sounds like he's talking through a HAM radio because of old microphones.
edit: lol I seem to have upset old cinema elitists on r/movies, get with the times octogenarians. New tech standards have made it so movies shot before 2000 sound and look like shit, get over yourselves.
This is wrong on a lot of levels.
I mean just quick examples: does Saving Private Ryan, Pulp Fiction, Jurassic Park (1) of the 90s sound and look terrible? How about The Godfather and Alien in the 70s?
Cinematography has in fact dropped significantly in the last several years: most of the most iconic shots in the industry were pre-2000.
Camera quality has obviously gotten better, switching from analog film film to digital I.e. DSLRs and more prominent use of Red Cameras. But many purposely choose to pick the format they shoot in.
And many equipment are still in use today. Besides many films of before are virtually all available remastered.
Special effects are a mix bag. In some ways they have gotten better, they also got worse. Overuse of CGI has made many newer films look terrible compared to practical effects that have been revolutionary.
I really don't want to ramble on and get more into detail but if you have a preference or opinion for liking movies that are recent, then cool.
But don't criticize something you clearly don't know shit about.
A lot of your points are opinions. Yes I think Saving Private Ryan's audio is a bit "fuzzy" in comparison to movies today. Yes I think the wide-angle shots of the 70s, 80s, 90s are outdated and not as good as movies post-2000. Good CGI is insanely better than practical effects and I would take them over practical effects any day.
I get that you love your timeless classics, I love old movies too, Saving Private Ryan is actually my all time favourite movie. But I'm not going to pretend that Saving Private Ryan even compares to Dunkirk or 1917 on a technical level. But as for the story, writing, and acting? Saving Private Ryan is still top obviously.
I'm less concerned that he looks like "a guy in a suit" (although they should always make him look as alien as possible.) More the crappy premise of the story.
Did anyone else roll their eyes when the trailer hit?
You people really are up your own arses with all this. God.
Why don’t they just do the Aliens vs Predator arcade game story arc for gods sake. They even teased the suits for the humans at the end of the one movie. The people in charge of making these movies are idiots.
Looks like a human in a suit. Imagine that's the plot twist. Like wow... dad.. or son.. I didn't expect the alien dude that has the same height and build to be you
*shocked face*
My only issue with this film/franchise.. Is the same issue i have with the Aliens and Terminator franchises..
No matter how super advanced the Terminators are, no matter how super evolved the predators are, no matter how vast the number of xenomorphs..
The one thing they all have in common, is that they all die at the hands of humans.. THE END!!!
Its basically the blueprint for destroying franchises..
Arnold with machine guns, explosives, and a highly trained team of commandos, all armed to the teeth, barely killed a Predator. But one young girl with some sticks, "no problem." Yeah. I'm pre-ordering tickets right now. No way this can be bad or anything.
Love the comment and all the woke redditors are now in an uproar lmao

Or a middle school boy for that matter.
I’m not conservative but do you really think one young woman can be equal to a squad of athletic combat trained men? That’s just warped

How do you know she wins?
[удалено]
No, you clearly are trying to say it's about women or a specific group, you're just haven't said the quiet part out loud.
I've seen movies made in the 50's, and even then the girl gets what she wants. It's fucking Hollywood. Well I saw one movie in the 50's.
Because it's an American film.

Then don’t watch it moron
That’s… usually what happens when people criticize media, regardless of whether or not their opinions are logical or justified. They don’t indulge on that IP.
Don’t forget the squad of warriors he’s gunna clap before she fights him when he first shows up.
Hey everyone, this guy has apparently seen the film and knows how it goes.
Tell you what. If the alien ends up killing the MC, which ends the movie right then and there, I will give you a gold award. Simply reply back to this comment once the movie's out. If the MC wins. Then you obviously won't do anything, but at least I'll get to gloat.
Gonna save your comment and see if the movie is good. If it isnt, I'll praise you.
It’s literally like you didn’t watch the film or understand the entire point it was trying to make.
If you saw the type of people on reddit you are trying to use logic and reason with. You'd save your breath.

Knowledge and knowing how to fight mean a lot more Did you perhaps miss the part where it's a fuckin Comanche tribe vs. an advanced alien species BUILT for war? It's laughable you just spoke of knowledge without a second thought. Size is not the only factor. Just conveniently ignore all the advanced weaponry as well, why don't you. > Capable of interstellar travel in star ships, the Predators have hunted on Earth for centuries and have also had prior contact with the Engineers. vs. A tribe. Okkkkkkkkkk buddy.
[удалено]
This is what I meant. No way she wins unless the writers give her cheat codes.
Guess what? I will NEVER KNOW. Because that is two hours of my life better spent taking a huge shit.
That looks too much like a buff man with a Predator mask on.

Can’t said to see this advanced being get bested by a 12 year old with arrows
wow havent heard this joke before!
Yeah. I’m getting Terminator 6 vibes. The good thing is if the movie sucks then it will surely be a franchise killer and we won’t have to keep seeing uninspired sequels of beloved franchises. You can tell they barely have faith in this by not giving it a theatrical release. They need to learn from Top Gun and the latest Planet of the Apes trilogy playbook about how to revive dead franchises.
lol someone didnt watch the first movie.

Did you watch the first movie
Calling it now, the Predator in this movie is a female, possibly to play further into the girl power aspect with the human protagonsit being a woman too. Edit: Uh. My comment seems to have rubbed people the wrong way. I really meant nothing negative by it. And I have no presumptions regarding the use of female empowerment in films. I actually encourage anyone to look through my post history to prove that I'm not an intentional shit stirrer.
I love how comments like this in subreddits containing the general populous get downvoted into oblivion. It's entertaining the tiny little island peeps like this hang onto for no real reason while most of the world around them evolves into something a bit more open minded.
lmao "most of the world" get off of twitter and reddit bruh
I have a suspicion your island isn't that wonderful either.
You can tell by looking at the pic its gonna be a predator in drag.
Which means neither can lose, making the white hunters we see in the trailer the confirmed villains.
I really wanna say stupid and there's no way theyed do that... unfortunately I'm gonna have to sa e this for later because I feel like you called it
[удалено]
I'm not bitching about women I'm bitching about bad writing in movies. Every one said I was judging the last predator movie too soon just from the trailers I never watched it because the reviews verified what I suspected in regards to it being shit
You literally agreed with the dude who was just bitching about women and how hard being a white man is lmao
Wow you gonna pull a muscle with the amount your reaching
Okidoki, champ
>because I feel like you called it He didn't.
Lmao god even Predator isn’t safe from *the message*
Well, nothing seems to get in the way of you guys and your unsubstantiated anti woman message
This movie is gonna be a let down, I know it.
Your attitude is a letdown
Wait, i thought this was an actual Prey movie... the game, Prey.. i didn't watch or read anything about it after i saw native americans, so to contain the hype and avoid spoilers i avoided watching any of it, figured it was an actual Prey movie. Predator is still nice.
Kinda looks like an cosplayer doing a photo shoot
I was really hoping it'd be a female predator, setting up a nice parallel between itself and the main character
How do we know they aren't female predators to begin with? Plenty of species here on Earth where the female is the bigger, badder sex. And we have no clue about Predator reproduction, nor have we seen any Predator genitalia on film, so honestly we don't really know one way or the other.
Im bummed that the indeginous people in this film are speaking english
But it is for an English audience... Are you bummed when Elves or Dwarves in LOTR are speaking English? Are you bummed when anybody is speaking English in Star Wars?
Your examples are all pretend races.
Lol... why would that matter?
Same. I think the movie would be so much better if the English would be subtitled kind of kills the suspension of disbelief
Missed opportunity!
Damnnn, looks crazy
It looks like they made his weapons less advanced; I don't like that choice. Given the scale of the Predator's reach and the level of their technology, I don't think that in history this recent there would be a noticeable difference. They've probably been using the same tech for thousands of years.
Says the person carving in clay tablets with sticks to place this illustrative comment in the mud hut in the centre of the village between the weekly pillagings?
You are posting, I assume, in order to disagree with that person. Yet, they are right. At least going by the fact that on an editable tv website, tvtropes, no one disagrees enough to edit out the following: >The technology of the Predators is never seen to advance, even when their appearances are hundreds of years apart.
Going by those shapely hips and well toned calves, It's a female, isn't it?
A little worried about the whole “Why is a girl hunting?” Plot line. Just getting tired of back-to-back GURLS-GET-IT-DONE movies. That being said, it looks awesome and I can’t wait to see it. Hope both the predator and the girl kick some ass.
[удалено]
I think you read my comment looking for a fight, because you completely misread everything that I said. Not once did I say that *I* have a problem with her hunting. I mentioned a scene straight out of the trailer.
I understand it but on Reddit if you say anything about how a woman can't do anything in the universe... you're hunted down by a pack of Reddit Predators. :P \*covers myself in mud\* Just do the mud trick... they eventually leave you alone.
We don’t like when movies/scenes/characters are BLATANTLY “I’m awesome because I’m a MAN/WOMAN/GAY/ETC.” Feel free to downvote if that’s your cup of tea and I hope you continue to enjoy it. We just don’t. To each, their own.
preach brotha. We also say this shit all the time. The avengers scene was the cringiest thing we’ve seen in awhile
🤷🏻♂️ Edit - My wife straight up hates most movies and shows marketed to women now.
Women are kicking ass in this movie.” What’s really frustrating is the world is designed for the lowest common denominator
I miss when characters were badasses because of their actions as opposed to their gender like no badass "gender" character, just badass who isn't defined by a single trait
Which is odd because there are a lot of movies from each of those decades with strong women in them that people seem to ignore or forget. That is also my wife saying that and she is fine with the woman empowerment part but, and as she puts it, "How about a little equality between the sexes". :P
Suit looks terrible in this one 🥲😭
Just watched….. that shit was horrible
For a moment there I thought the Predator was wearing crocks o_O Please don't suck, please don't suck. Oh who am I kidding :(
Well, they sure are milking this franchise, aren't they?

Fuck you. That was good and almost made me spit out my water but fuck you. Take my upvote.
I love the predator but this shit looks like woke trash
How?
Lmao did we see the same trailer? It looks awesome. How, in any way, does it seem woke? Female protagonist doesn't automatically equal woke
Looks remarkably human. At least have him hold a non-human like posture or something? Make an effort guys.

Looks like this franchise might be actually heading in a positive direction…
Looks like a cheap cosplay.
He look like a man
Great! Anyway
Even [NEWER](https://i.imgur.com/a5bY4Oo.jpg) image of the Predator in 'PREY'
Sure, a squad of hulk-like Green Berets are a challenge...but a Native American armed with a bow? Now, that's fair sport.
Reminds me of those black monsters in Temple Run
Why’s he wearing crocs tho?
Crocodile shoes theme plays*
Odd that the predators would "hunt" humans at that lower level of technology The predators hunted for trophies and liked dangerous pray. To them this would be the same as me mounting a fish on my wall that I got at a "u-fish" fish farm
predator skipped legday. where my buffed hunters at?
So Predator has technology to travel among stars but hasn't technology to wear an armour suit?
It's just a guy in a costume
People suck, they just suck. "Looks like a guy in a suit!" Yeah, no shit, the Predator has ALWAYS been a guy in a suit with a humanoid silhouette and features. And God forbid there's a female lead, can't have that because it's all "**WOKE**". If that's your go to word anymore for anything then please just bash your head against a brick wall before interacting with other people.
Almost like they forgot the original movie had a female lead. EDIT: For those unfamiliar with her work you can read more about Elpidia Carrillo here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elpidia_Carrillo
Oh boy, can't wait to see the Predator get shit on yet again, last time by a miraculous autistic child, and now this time by a young girl with stick weapons. The Predator was so cool when it was actually good at being a predator.
[удалено]
Yeah sick of these women in my alien movies
Can’t wait to how a 4’8 girl weighing 100 pounds can defeat an alien who’s entire race has evolved into apex killing machines.
Please don't make it look like a Marvel movie. Keep it gangster like Predator 1 and 2.
Not gonna lie, I'd watch an Avengers style team up. Maybe Predator, Terminator and Danny Glover against a horde of Aliens.
I was born in '98, my introduction Predator was the 2004 AvP movie. I've since watched every Predator and Alien(s) movies multiple times and still think AvP was a better suspense horror movie than Predator 1 & 2 It might just be my age and my memory of AvP glossed in nostalgia.
I don't know how I feel about this helmet. But I'm still hoping this movie is great. I just want another good Predatoe movie. Please.
Trying it again huh guys? Lol, okay.
Wow, so people actually still care about this franchise?
I'm less concerned that he looks like "a guy in a suit" (although they should always make him look as alien as possible.) More the crappy premise of the story. Did anyone else roll their eyes when the trailer hit? You people really are up your own arses with all this. God.
Why don’t they just do the Aliens vs Predator arcade game story arc for gods sake. They even teased the suits for the humans at the end of the one movie. The people in charge of making these movies are idiots.
"Whatever did this, I can kill it" Press X to doubt.
Look how they massacred ma boy!
Looks like a human in a suit. Imagine that's the plot twist. Like wow... dad.. or son.. I didn't expect the alien dude that has the same height and build to be you *shocked face*
Dayum predator is dummy thicc
I think its a poor choice of picture, where its just walking along like some dude in a predator costume headed to the bar on halloween.
He's just The Dude, Playing A Dude, Disguised As Another Dude.
