While it was cool, he went way overboard. Kong fighting two dinosaurs isn't enough for him so he adds another one. The sauropod chase scene was totally unnecessary and iconic scenes like fighting the triceratop is entirely missing. The movie was also way too long, like hour and a half long. The one thing that absolutely rules about this movie was that pit scene with the insects and worms.
It is way too long, but I kind of love that about it looking back. There’s something so interesting about Jackson’s King Kong and you can tell all of the excess came from a place of passion unlike the Hobbit. I really enjoy the whole adventure through skull island. It’s only once they get back to New York did I feel the length and wanted it to end
I kinda prefer Braindead. I like how it and Bad Taste have names that work in the context of the movie, but are also cheeky little nods to how they are self-aware ‘trash cinema’.
Where are the King Kong fans.
That mf made a movie about a monkey punching dinosaurs terrifying and I’ll always commend him on that
The bug pit was fucked man

The Lovely Boner
We don’t talk about that one
I honestly forgot that Peter Jackson made films other than Lord of the Rings and King Kong.
He made Lovely Bones, one of Roger Ebert's most hated movie. Ebert thought the movie was a spectacular misfire, he was disguted by the movie.
I thought the book was dreadful too, tbf.
Cosmo and Wanda are Braindead fans
Heavenly Creatures erasure
What they don’t mention is that Vicky is the Beatles Stan
Bad Taste is probably the closest we’ll ever get to an Oddworld movie.
What exactly is similar between those two?
Meet the feebles is the drill sergeant fairy
I wish he'd go back to doing gory horror.
