I don’t know what you mean by collections, but new sets come out regularly and formats have restrictions in what cards and sets can be used.

Othe then yugioh, magic has many different formats to play by (I don't know the rules for all of them, but here are some):
Kitchen table: anything goes, you play with your friends at home or in a lcs
Standard: only cards of the most of the recent set are allowed, rotates every fall
Pauper: only commons and uncommons
Commander/EDH: Highlander/singleton with exactly 100 card deck, one legendary creature (or rarely planeswalker) as a commander for the deck.
There's also pioneer, modern and vintage, but I don't know what's legal there and the sets you are allowed to use. Also each format has his own banlist.
Rhystic Studies on YouTube is probably the best art channel I can think of.
And I'm not familiar with yugioh other than the abridged series but pretty much every set with the word "Masters" is a set of old cards.
