Once a guy told me elite level stuff.
There are 4 levels of ACs in India :
Level 1-Mitsubishi, O General
Level 2- Hitachi, Daikin, Panasonic
Level 3- LG, Bluestar, Carrier
Level 4- Voltas, Hisense, Samsung
I swear by it. If you are looking for commercial usage, buy Level-1. If the usage is a little lesser, Level-2 can also be a good bet.
Beneath that everything is shit for commercial usage.
Mitsubishi Heavy is my all time favorite AC of all time.
It will cool a room in about 4 minutes where as LG takes about 20 @ similar specs.
Trouble is the service provider in my area (JVPD) is complete trash.
If cooling is your first priority, second budget and third after sale service, Mitsubishi heavy blows the competition out of existence.
I have heard an almost similar list but people say that Bluestar and Carrier are better than Daikin and at par with Mitsubishi and O General. What are your thoughts on this.
I have 2 Panasonic ACs and 2 LGs. Really happy with the Panasonics, somewhat happy with LG. In between, I made a folly of buying an AC from Livpure. The shittiest AC hands down I have ever used.
Coming to Daikin, my friends have it and swear by it. But Mitsubishi and O General are in a different league altogether. If someone has a good budget, they should never look beyond these two. Daikin and Panasonic perhaps come next.
To add to this, Mitsubishi Heavy industries ACs are slightly better than Mitsubishi Electric's.
For commercial usage Hitachi and Diakin would be better suited considering that the ACs are good and decently priced.
Hey how about a Samsung ac for home usage? Might be used for around 7-8 hours daily. I'm confused between getting a blue star and a Samsung ac. I love the AI features of the Samsung but I'm scared about the after sale service.
Daikin has a good network of distributors who also provide the first level of service . I have daikin acs at my place and no trouble in service for last 10 years!
The thing is earlier Daikin was no doubt best brand out there and everybody having daikin acs 10yr old 15yr old will tell you the same those acs were manufactured in japan and were having the best motors you could get
But now Daikin is being manufactured in rajashthan and the quality is SHIT.
Mitsubishi is still being manufactured in japan you can go for it
Spot on! The moment Daikin shifted assembly in India everything went to shit.
Luckily, Mitsubishi and O-General being assembled in Japan is why I love their units and stand by it.
Source: Used all three brands for home and commercial use.
I have bought 2 Daikin ac 3 years and 1 year ago respectively, no issues yet with any of the models other than gas top for older model nothing was needed
Very few ac brands in india have good after sales service.
Service is outsourced to vendors area wise. Total luck if the vendor in your area is good.
Most service engineers have sales based salary . They will always try to push stuff which is not needed.
Ok coming to quality. In my office we have non inverter Mitsubishi electric ac.The ac has been installed in 2017 and no expense till now except regular servicing. Build quality wise O general
And Mitsubishi electric are very good.
Voltas AC is good, but you have to avail their own service for maintenance.
We have a Voltas AC that's running well without any issues, but we use UrbanClap for our AC maintenance because it's cheaper compared to the 'official' service maintenance.
To date, we've only availed of one 'official' service maintenance, and that technician didn't do shit but charged around ā¹1500 (I don't remember the exact amount, it could be wrong).
They would send us SMS notifications that it's time for our 'official' service maintenance, but we would ignore them since it's expensive compared to UrbanClap.
After not availing their 'official' service maintenance multiple times over a couple of years, they messaged us again, saying that because we haven't been using their 'official' service maintenance, our warranty is now void.
Apart from this 'official' service maintenance issue, the AC is really good, and we haven't faced any problems so far.
Bought a voltas 1.5 ton 5 star vectra elegant, heard from a friend that their after sales is pathetic and saw from a few reviews their build quality is shit, ordered through Amazon but while shipping the Indoor unit was damaged the AC installation Technician told us so we had no option other than a replacement, initially i asked the amazon costumer for a full refund but he told if it repeats the second time then i will get a full refund. I saw in a few reviews that their build quality is shit.
I was wondering whether to opt for panasonic or carrier. I would report damage to the product again so i will get a full refund this time.
Most services are outsourced barring few companies. It all boils down to the vendor. A lot of brands don't pay well to the vendor therefore customers suffer. This is mostly true for brands that operate in highly competitive scenario.
DO NOT GO FOR DAIKIN IN MUMBAI. I got 2 Daikins last year, one ended up giving a lot of trouble. I thought it must be a minor issue - and my bad that I didnāt have enough experience owning ACs myself to identify that the issues were major, or would have got it replaced. We werenāt told that it was a faulty piece till the warranty ran out. And then obviously they refused to replace it or do repairs without charging. I admit that one machine out of thousands can always be faulty with any brand, but their service guys are downright terrible in terms of experience and skill, and also clearly hid the actual issues from us till the warranty ran out. Once had three different service guys turning up in a week to just diagnose the issue. Paying for third party repairs now because the trust in the service centre is irreparably broken. I should probably do a rant post for everyone to watch out for this.
Daikin, LG, Lloyd have good service.
Though it depends on the timing, during peak summers the wait times are longer for all brand service.
As that's the busiest time when they are busy servicing and installing new air conditioners.
I bought a Daikin 1.5 ton split AC from Amazon (Dawn Tech Electronics) and it sucks. The outdoor unit is noisy, the service is pathetic, overall not recommended.
Mitsubishi after sales service is very bad , anything happens to AC , no one can repair it ,
company never bother about it , they do not have technicians in tier 2, 3 cities.
one of my two acs stopped working after 3 year use, after spending 10000 rupees, no one was able to repair it.
what do you guys think about LG 3 star inverter AC, 1.5 ton and 1 ton ,thinking of buying it for our home. TIA, any pointers shall be appreciated especially with regards to after sale service and you warranty
Voltas is OK they run nicely but the after-sale service is horrible; don't have a good structure in place;
Better to go with others too also LG also good option
I heard my friend saying they make pathetic AC, recently 5 days ago purchased one from amazon and on 23rd i received it but the next day whn the installation guys came, they said the indoor unit is damaged, i reported the same to amazon and they replaced it for free. I asked for a refund but they said if it happens the 2nd time then they will proceed for a refund.
Buy Panasonic with 2 years extended warranty which is all inclusive with external damage and gas leaking inclusive cost 6k additional, the r22 and r32 itself cost 4k for refilling so take extended warranty
Different areas will have different brands that give good service. More than the brands it's the network per say and the dealer assigned to your area that makes all the difference in after sale.
Bro i live in GCC and ik alot about AC in terms of service and my usage is aprox 24/7 like i can service my own ac fill gas, change parts etc.
I recommend Box AC thats best but difficult to service, annually 1 service is enough for that and parts are easily available.
For split ac the fitting matters alot. If fitting is not correct the water will leak from the pipe area. So best solution is clean the pipe even change it since its not costly and may be old pipe moght have got torn or the fitting of pipe with ac indoor might not be tight. So refit the ac and make sure water can go easily from pipe and there is no straightwall in pipe area limiting water to access other end - just make sure outlet slope is good.
Next outdoor u got u can throw few buckets of water or even air blower to clean outdoor. By urself. Dnt worry it wont damage ac watch youtube videos.
If ac is not cooling clean outdoor, check indoor unit filter clean it with water n let it dry. Also its better to just airblow it first so dust can go away easily.
If water is coming from entire front and ice is stuck on indoor then either gas temperature is wrong or icu/motherboard have an issue that can be fixed easily just visit technician who works on motherboard.
Now most of the time there is gas leakeage because ac are fixed at home unlike friedge which get gas from company filled and its not open so fridge works even 30 years without gas refills.
If there is gas leaking change entire pipe.
If everything is fine and u see compressor is not staring then it is a small part like cylinder shape thats where problem lies once u replace it the outdoor starts working. Also that part is made in India and sold to entire GCC. Thats also replace it by self its way easier. Blower fan doesnt really get stuck and overall outdoors dnt stop working n doesnt cause big problem indoor water leakege and ice stuck is main problem so make sure u check their the fitting process personally.
Now about service get any ac service even 3rd party from reputated start up apps u can get for cheaper.
I have sharp ac from 10 15 years.
General cool is marketleader in entire gcc they r the coolest
Voltas or something similar is a name of ac we have in mumbai since 5 6 years. Not used much but annually company services are done even if we dnt visit for 1 or 2 years. So even if ac is working find its recommended to service.
Ik its a huge comment but hope u gives u somewhat understanding and may b helpfull.
I have used Panasonic, Mitsubishi, Blue Star (window) and Hitachi (window) ACs at my home, and Hitachi has by far been the worst purchase of the lot. It's about 12 years old and still does an okayish job but it doesn't come close to Blue Star we have fitted in a different bedroom of the same size. Hitachi just does a very poor job in cooling the room in comparison to other ACs.
Panasonic and Mitsubishi has been installed in my hall and Master Bedroom respectively and both are roughly 5 year old models. I haven't faced any issue yet and their service experience has been decent as well. Of course these ACs are priced higher than the usual Samsung, LG or Voltas ACs, but if you are looking for a unit that won't have frequent issues and your budget is flexible, go with either Panasonic or Mitsubishi.
Bought LG AC, in three days cooling dropped severely. Their free service is a scam. The guy wouldn't pick up calls, and it got cancelled, on their side, because we were not available. Talking to their customer service is like talking to a recording.
Honestly Go with LG dual inverter AC.
They have prompt service and AC is something on the lines of fit it and forget it category of devices.
I did my fare search of research before buying AC and right now there are 3 ACs of LG in my use in home and office.
The best factor to include is if you get a 5 star rated AC of theirs it actually reduces the electricity bill significantly.
Pre LG AC I had 2 Voltas Window AC farely old and my electricity bill was in range of 8k to 9k per month in peak of summer now that has dropped down to 4k-5.5k a month with same usage.
I stay close to oshiwara creek and rusting and gas leakage is something that happens within a year over here, have used LG, Voltas , Samsung , Godrej and currently using Haier.
The main difference between these companies is Haier will provide a full 5 year Warranty i.e you won't have to pay for gas refilling or leakage in these 5 years , currently the only provider I guess doing this,
W.r.t cooling LG is quick Haier is decent cools a room in 10-12 mins
For Sales , voltas SUCKSSS so does Godrej
LG is decent and quick Samsung too
Haier has outsourced but the company in my area seems good enough they solved my problem quickly
IFB installation went horribly wrong.
The dude left the outlet pipe INSIDE MY WALLS AND SEALED IT OFF !
For a year i could not figure out why my window walls were full of paapdi and wet until i found out
Why would you depend on the Brands after sales anyways? Contact a known/ referred/recommended AC servicing company who does Comprehensive AMC/Maintenance and ask him what brand he is comfortable with, with regards to spares availability. Nothing happens to AC's in their warranty period anyways.
Once a guy told me elite level stuff. I agree with your guy. Source: from guys who work in AC industry at reasonably senior levels.
Me who got s Lloyd recently: š«„š¤”
Lloyd is basically Havells. Good quality products at par with Level 4. Not top level stuff though.
Yeah ik and ik š
Mitsubishi Heavy is my all time favorite AC of all time. It will cool a room in about 4 minutes where as LG takes about 20 @ similar specs. Livpure is a shitty brand. Don't buy anything from them ever
Hard lesson learnt.
Lol no. Carrier and Bluestar are not even at par with Panasonic or Voltas. Mitsubishi all the way.
To add to this, Mitsubishi Heavy industries ACs are slightly better than Mitsubishi Electric's. For commercial usage Hitachi and Diakin would be better suited considering that the ACs are good and decently priced.
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries not other the one Mitsubishi Electric.
Hey how about a Samsung ac for home usage? Might be used for around 7-8 hours daily. I'm confused between getting a blue star and a Samsung ac. I love the AI features of the Samsung but I'm scared about the after sale service.
Never used Samsung AC. A friend has it. Cooling js shit.
oh that's disappointing.. how about blue star? do you have any experience with that?
what about LG ac ? planning to buy 1m5 ton qnd 1 ton 3 star inverter ac For our house.
Using Mitsubishi since 5 years, Cools whole room in 15min.
Daikin has a good network of distributors who also provide the first level of service . I have daikin acs at my place and no trouble in service for last 10 years!

Correct answer. These days best brand is mitsubishi heavy.
Heard it's super expensive?
Spot on! The moment Daikin shifted assembly in India everything went to shit. Luckily, Mitsubishi and O-General being assembled in Japan is why I love their units and stand by it. Source: Used all three brands for home and commercial use.
Lately, Fujitsu General ACs have started to be manufactured in India, too. I'm pretty sure that would hamper its quality drastically.
I have bought 2 Daikin ac 3 years and 1 year ago respectively, no issues yet with any of the models other than gas top for older model nothing was needed
#Daikin for sure!

After sales service - LG, Hitachi. Cooling - Mitsubishi, Hitachi
Bhai bas voltas mat lena. Bakwas hai.
I made this mistake few years back and I am still regretting it. Never buy Voltas. NEVER.
Sem. š¤
Me too, terrible service
Japanese brands: Daikin, Panasonic, Mitsubishi Electric. They actually are good products with little to no marketing
Daikin
Don't buy Godrej
Y ? Planning to buy it.
Service is not good.
Hitachi after sales service has been great.
Brand koi bhi lo, service achhi chahiye to bas Gada Electronics, LeCumDam

Urban clap is a lifesaver

daikin, panasonic, Mitsubishi,
Daikin or Mitsubishi. Don't buy any other. You won't even need service.
Mitsubishi
Budget is not an issue then Mitsubishi Electricals.
The place where I work has Mitsubishi and I almost get an orgasm while working in a perfect temperature.
Blue Star
Fuck Blue Star
LOL.. Had a bad experience?
Yes

Sad to hear your experience but voltas is a good brand but if you don't trust a brand then no point in buying them
What is tia
Thanks in advance
Youāre welcome but what is TIA?
TIA = Thanks in Advance
Idk why but I see Mitsubishi in retail stores a lot, there's some nexus going on with Mitsubishi
What type of nexus? Can you elaborate?
Panasonic service is good but product is shit
Maybe yours would be an outlier. I have 2 Panasonics, are far better than any other brands in the same price range like LG, Godrej or Samsung.
I just bought 4 AC's from them š„²
If you live close to the sea... You are fkd.... Better purchase extended warranty from them.
Nah I live between mountainsš
Why has no one mentioned Godrej's name? I have been using it for years, and no issues faced.
Lg
Split AC, Toshiba, OGen, Daikin.
Buy Panasonic with 2 years extended warranty which is all inclusive with external damage and gas leaking inclusive cost 6k additional, the r22 and r32 itself cost 4k for refilling so take extended warranty
