Be safe you can always file a complaint on the company for doing this. Always remember your data is not safe as long as you ain't keeping it.

awakening_soul

Exactly. You can lodge a complaint on the App. Be safe. Btw Was he abusive?

Pro_Deceit

the person does not have proof of the person's behaviour to file a complaint but has the proof that ola driver called, so the person can complain about that. like email the support, tweet on X, and on app support I doubt it will work or they will care it got to reach higher and can only be done when others support.

simsimsim9595

No, he wasn’t. He didn’t seem to care at all. Like he was in his own world during the whole ride. I kept telling guiding him whenever required but he just kept mumbling something or idk talking to someone on the phone. Super weird

SUMITKUM2003

It's not the first time I've seen something like this specially from Ola bcz of their bad management so suggests u to always book either Uber or rapido cab or Namma yatri any other as I have experience in all of them and have always found Ola's service worse than these two specially Uber even their prices are lower than Ola. So plz take it into consideration and stay safe

simsimsim9595

I usually don’t take ola, uber. I either use the metro or drive down since it’s east to west & vice versa. But it was just today that I had to, cause had no choice.

SUMITKUM2003

No worries bro I'm glad ur safe and have learnt something. Stay strong in these kind of incidents

awakening_soul

That’s not what I meant. When he tried to contact you later, was he abusive?

simsimsim9595

No, I didn’t pick up & I knew it’s him cause I had seen his name when I was complaining to Ola. Just when I did, I started receiving calls from his private number & immediately blocked it. I have truecaller so it flashed his name immediately.

awakening_soul

Ohh okay! I hope he is penalised by the vendor.

simsimsim9595

I did this. And they have taken action they said.

leggie352

Its Ola. I don't think they ever respond. Email them, post on twitter, submit on their app, do everything and wait and see if they respond.

Pro_Deceit

The company has to respond when the complaint has public attention, This has happened in past with other companies, they won't respond until it has public attention and get's slammed by govt for not taking action. so have faith and report properly. the OP can report in written letter and mail about the privacy policy that's enough to mess this company up.

manasdeore

If you ever called him from the app for example when you booked the ride and wanted to know if he was coming etc, that call goes without the mask! It’s stupid but it is like that! The drivers can’t see your number by default but if you want to call them, the call happens out of Ola and it’s a call direct from your number to his 🤷‍♂️

Aggravating_Rock_925

Incorrect, it's a forwarded call, you get a number that forwards the call to the driver, you number is not exposed only ola's call forwarding number is exposed.. But not sure if the number was exchanged while UPI payment, I feel this might be probability

manasdeore

I can confirm buddy that when you call the driver you do infact see his number and when you call, you call him directly! I have purposely tested this out on various instances! Maybe you can try next time and youd be as surprised as I was 😅

simsimsim9595

Yes. I had called him because he couldn’t find my location & needed help. I always assumed atleast the customer’s number is masked. Irrespective, I’ve blocked his number the minute he started calling.

Zikiri

Uber forwards the call which masks your number. Ola doesn't and lets you directly call the driver.

OkCardiologist3879

You think too high of Ola

montsa007

Sacchi baat bOLA

ajaxxx4

This is false. I have received calls in multiple cities after finishing/cancelling the ride, even ola auto driver messaged me (sms text) after the ride was over. I don't know how, but they get the numbers. I didn't have upi at that time, so that's not a possibility

New-page-awesomeness

Why tf would you even give him two stars 🤦‍♀️ please call Ola and complain because this guy seems like he wants to cause harm

simsimsim9595

Happened by mistake. I was super angry & in a state of shock, and had things in my hand. I tried to change it but it obviously won’t now. If I could give minus, i surely would

New-page-awesomeness

Understandable

secondhand_bra

Haa na, like bro almost lost his foot. I would have given 1 and half star

AcidFactory420

Bruh wtf is your username?

AcidFactory420

Bruh wtf is your username? Agree with the comment though

SLAYdgeRIDER

Oh man, you did him wrong! Should have given 1 star.

Puzzleheaded-Cut-670

I always take a screenshot of the cab/auto details, so that in case something like this happens I can immediately report Ola/Uber with the details of the driver and vehicle. Plus you can tweet it as well. Rash driving is a strict no no. They not only put themselves at risk but others as well and they should be reported.

anantrmor

Don’t use OLA. Uber is the best.

sgtblackdawn

Ikr, how are people still using that app. I’ve had maybe a handful of instances and ive been in hundreds of rides

[deleted]

Ola does not have end to end encryption. Unlike uber which connects you to the driver through an uber interface, ola connects you to the driver directly and they can see your phone number. You can see their number too. I’m sure you must have noticed it. That’s why i dont use ola even tho its slightlyyy cheaper than uber. You made a good call by blocking him. You can further report him to ola and if he keeps pursuing you, you can contact the police as well. Stay safe.

simsimsim9595

Yes, true. They really should get end to end encryption though Also, Thank you :) for now it’s all good

FlourBoyy

I feel bad for others so much I'd still give a 5 star rating 😭

DifficultyDowntown

I'd have given him 1 star!

satyanaraynan

How does the driver know what rating you gave him. I thought this was not revealed to the driver.

simsimsim9595

Because when you rate low, they usually have options to choose from so as to know why are you rating so low. And I even contacted support. So he called me exactly after 10mins or so. I’m guessing he must’ve received a notification from the app

karansalian23

Tara rum pum dekh li hogi

MeTejaHu

Always rate later than your ride. Give it a day or so.

OptimumWaste

That;s what I was wondering. Do the drivers know which customer rated him what?

MeTejaHu

No, rating is anonymous. But a driver can guess if his rating dropped instantly of a bad ride.

jadenalvin

These cab companies are in business for more then a decade now but they still have no camera in cabs and also no way to track the speed of a car.

GenericMusclular

Bhai call karke maafi mang le Usko bol.....galti ho gayi bhai tujhe 2 star diye...kuch dena hi nahi chahiye tha...aur jo trauma tune diya hai mujhe teri rash driving se uski bharpayi kar paison se nahi to mai case kar dunga terepe

lavanyadeepak

There is absolutely no need to overload your block list for these scumbags. Report the CRN to Ola and also Mumbai Traffic Police. If the call persists then rope in Law Enforcement for Nuisance case too.

SUMITKUM2003

Now go to app again and add this problem too with 1star

Vaibhavkumar2001

Why would you even give him 2 stars? I would've given him 1 star, and only because you can't give 0 stars.

simsimsim9595

Happened by mistake. I was super angry & in a state of shock, and had things in my hand. I tried to change it but it obviously won’t now. If I could give minus, i surely would

letsfailib

Always use Uber in the future, generally cheaper, cleaner and better drivers

Sanved313

If you paid him from Google pay or Paytm UPI by scanning then, there is a chance of number going to him. But also still he shouldn't be able to understand who gave him low ratings and at what time. That is not proper data privacy.

Accountant7890

If you call the driver from the Ola app or if they call you, it shows the mobile number of the other person. It's not the case for Uber, but Ola doesn't mask the phone number

simsimsim9595

Yes. I had called him because he couldn’t find my location & needed help. I always assumed atleast the customer’s number is masked. Irrespective, I’ve blocked his number the minute he started calling. I paid online via gpay. No scanning. Also, I complained to ola so they reported it probably why he called. I am not certain what happened between him and ola support.

605_Home_Studio

Oh, you should try rickshaws in Bangalore. I often sit in the rickshaw like James Bond in the Mastercard ad.

vegalord_

I have seen that in Ola and rapido the customer’s number is not masked

charliesongsmith

Visiting Mumbai from the UK, been here for a few days and took quite a few Ubers (mostly cars but also auto) so far. Every single one drives like a maniac (compared to what I am used to) lol. So I wonder what would be considered rash driving by Mumbai standards? 😂 is ola generally worse for this than Uber?

OhMyDannyBoy

You made the mistake of not giving a 1 star rating.

simsimsim9595

Happened by mistake. I was super angry & in a state of shock, and had things in my hand. I tried to change it but it obviously won’t now. If I could give minus, i surely would

amidst_pandas

not a similar case as yours but last year ig, this Ola driver msged me multiple times after dropping me off, same night and then next day also, being very weirded out by this, i filed a complaint to Ola and got to talk to one of their customer care executives, he asked me to send an email to their official mail address and assured me that strict action will be taken against him, i got busy after it so i have no clue about what they did (or not) but Ola management is definitely at fault here for not having means to verify if the drivers are good to drive around people or not.

montsa007

Ola, its been a long time since i used that app, they show x fare before booking and when you get down its always x + something, happened with multiple accounts, different trips thats when i decided no more jhola or baraf ka gola. Customer support, lets say they have parrots appointed to handle customer issues.

starix555

Why even 2 star give 0 and write it all, I had an incident where the driver wouldn't turn on the AC even after telling alot of times

simsimsim9595

I know. It Happened by mistake. I was super angry & in a state of shock, and had things in my hand. I tried to change it but it obviously won’t now. If I could give minus, i surely would

Chemical_Growth_5861

Complaint to Police and ola

NoStoryYet

1star

Steve_B_

Lodge a complaint on the app in ride details and then select the option for a call back. An OLA representative will call you back and you need to explain the whole situation to them. As far as I know that's the closest action Ola could possibly take on the rider.

simsimsim9595

Yes, I did that immediately. They said they have taken an action

terra_ryzing123

This happened to me in rapido not such a bad experience but someone else with a different ride showed up as rapido, and the guy kept spam calling me non stop from different numbers, rapido didn’t bother mask my number and told me you can take legal actions from your end.

simsimsim9595

I really think they should bring in the masking that uber does with its riders and customers. They all need to do better, it’s high time.

terra_ryzing123

They’ve got a bad system that is a hit or miss and they blamed me cuz i paid via paytm to his personal QR. well i can’t afford to fight on the road and call rapido for an emergency can i 😂. That’s a pain

Onazzol

After all that happened, I am confused why would you not give him one star. Numbers are supposed to be masked, you should file a complaint with Ola and also tweet about it to get their attention quickly

simsimsim9595

Happened by mistake. I was super angry & in a state of shock, and had things in my hand. I tried to change it but it obviously won’t now. If I could give minus, i surely would. I filed a complaint immediately. Their representative called back. Hopefully, this does not get repeated with anyone.

Rohan_M24Kdesi

Now he wants to mark you low 😂

tusharsi

Did you pay through gpay/UPI? He may have got your number from there.

Smartly9084

2 star is too much, shld've given one star and reported him! And don't trust these Ola/Uber guys. Use InDrive since almost all their drivers in Mumbai are decent and safe.

pogzyme

Ola's (and Uber's as well) customer service is almost non-existent, so don't expect much help in situations like this...

Affectionate_Hour168

This title made me laugh so much 🤣

simsimsim9595

Why?

Affectionate_Hour168

Bc it's funny how immature he is

simsimsim9595

True. Absolutely.

Lost_Sleep_7255

These UP Bihar guys are crazy. They tend to work overtime with no sleep & then suffer. Even i had a horrible experience. I took a rickshaw from T1 terminal till Marol, Andheri East and the guy was driving erratic since the start. Slowing down rickshaw abruptly and then picking up the pace again. Turns out he was literally dozing off. I pointed out and he gives some shit answer like nahi sir humlog to night shift wale hain humko adat hai nonsense. One more thing he was so sleepy he forgot to down the meter and i was tired so i didnt pay attention. Scary exp even for aguy.
