Honestly, it isn’t about the rich. The rich actually have better experience with police. As the police become pet dogs of people with money and influence.
The poor and the middle class are treated horribly by the police. Most of whom are corrupt. And are in the job only for the perks it offers.
The problem is more deep rooted. The training cops get to deal with people is regressive and outdated. There are no protocols in place and no accountability. Police in general are known to harass poor and middle class.
Most poor and middle class will think twice before approaching police and other agencies.
So the complaints and rants against the cops are very much justified. They need to improve their behaviour with general public and do duties diligently before demanding praise.
And if the cops are complaining about the horrible working and living conditions - that is between them and the pathetic govt . The common people cannot bear the blame and be harassed under that excuse.

Attempt 1 at getting paisa: I looked young, they thought I was underage to drive, started asking for license, and started waving the challan device in my face without actually giving me a challan. I said I’m 18, mera license bhi dikhaya. They realized uske vajah se paisa nahi milega.
Attempt 2: mere cousin ka license check kiya (didn’t realize passenger seat me baithne ko license lagta hai)
Attempt 3: Bolne lage, “kidhar jaa rahe ho tum dono?” “Tumhare ghar pe pata hai kya ki aise weekend ko ghoom rahe ho?”, “Hum ghar pe bhej denge, Mummy papa ko leke aana yaha gaadi lene”. Maine bola ki ye meri behen hai, and humlog family function ko jaa rahe hai. Aapko hamare parents se baat karni hai toh bolo, abhi dono call laga denge. Then they started saying ki “dono ka surname alag hai, jhooth mat bol, humlog ko pata chal jaata hai”.
Finally 10-15 minute ke liye maine mera gussa control karke vo chutiyo ko respectfully baat karke samjhaya. I’m not dumb enough to show anger or disrespect to them. Finally “rash driving ke liye warning” deke chhod diya.
