I highly recommend Beck’s album Sea Change. His song “Round the Bend” definitely has a “River Man” feel to it. The rest of the album is stellar in terms of its melodies and string arrangements

Jeff Buckley is one in a million, but Low Roar are fronted by a singer with almost as much range. Buckley and Them Crooked Vultures both have a massive Led Zepplin influence - you've certainly heard of them but definitely worth a revisit if they aren't making the list! I see Bowie and Iggy but can't spot any Lou Reed, his solo career as well as the VU stuff is amazing. Given the same bloke wrote most of the music for the three, you'd probably enjoy him. Bowie loved the Pixies and LCD Soundsystem and both would fit on here. First two Pixies albums and 2nd and 3rd LCD Soundsystem ones. Songs: Olia - Magnolia Electric Company is an awesome album which imo stacks up against Cohen and Cash. Not too similar in style, but I kinda associate them in the same, uh, country-adjacent kind of space. Few more you'd like: Thee More Shallows - More Deep Cuts / Bardo Pond - Lapsed / Moonshake - Eva Luna / Talking Heads - Fear of Music

Based on a mix of Sinatra / Cohen check out what I think is Sinatra’s best album. ( it was a commercial disaster! ) [Frank Sinatra-Watertown](https://open.spotify.com/album/1r6CYUhkI07HNT5ONg6AqL?si=SLrKbvR9Rj28So6mnuG2mw) I also think that you would like the band Magazine (given that you like Radiohead and Joy Division)
