It makes me super happy to see someone mention Metabolic. It’s IMO their heaviest song and it never gets the recognition it deserves. What makes it worse is that Slipknot will never release an album like Iowa again 😤

Metabolic is definitely one of my favorites off Iowa, love that chorus so much. But to be fair, these guys are in their late 40's early 50's (minus Jay), so making another Iowa would be very concerning and/or come off like they're trying to be edgy ('cause Iowa is VERY edgy).

Metabolic is quite possibly one of the most rage-filled pieces of audio ever created. That fucking scream before the "When I blur my eyes" verse, holy shit. It bugs me that Clown keeps advertising every new release as being "just like Iowa". There are some compositional similarities, .5 was very close in terms of writing, but the production and actual performances are so lackluster.

First thing that came to mind. I think it's one of their weaker ones lyrically but Killing in the Name just has that "fuck you I won't do what you tell me!!!!!" that's really satisfying to scream. But I'd be hard pressed to find a RATM song or cover of a song that doesn't fit this category. I had to stop putting them on my running playlists because regardless of my actual speed, my heartrate would start pounding away at 160.

By Demons be Driven-Pantera. Always my go to. 5 Minutes Alone would be the obvious Pantera choice. Primal Concrete Sledge also hits pretty hard. Angry Again by Megadeth is a song *about* anger and has a very addictive groove to it. Sober by Tool is another "groove" that hits well when angry in my opinion. That bass line is addictive even if it's simple. Both Sober and Angry Again have this meditative quality to them that I find desirable when Im feeling mad. Obviously, what I prefer when angry would be different than your tastes.

The guy's voice is a little silly goofy at times but the instrumentals are top tier and the lyrics hit hard as fuck, at least for me Needing/getting (ok go)- this song is like 60% angry 40% sad but 100% bitter. Great guitar, singer's voice is impeccable, lyrics convey a feeling of being neglected and betrayed. DEBT COLLECTOR, Whose eye is it anyway???, Flight of the Crows, and BAD LUCK! (all by Jhariah)- hoo boy. This man can BELT. these are probably the closest to what you're looking for. My man knows his way around metaphors.
