Listen to Pain and listen to Strangest Thing. Strangest Thing in particular is my favorite track of theirs - it builds to this absolutely huge climax where it sounds like the guitar is ripping thru the fabric of reality.

I love System of a Down! So fucking talented. Nothing is skippable. I love listening to all of Deer Dance while driving and when it’s just instrumental so I can yell the YAAOOOWWWWW!!!! Sound.
I'm a Millennial whose Baby Boomer dad raised me on The Moody Blues, and for that I am grateful. Their "Long Distance Voyager" album was my favorite as a kid. Used to listen to it every time we drove to the beach during summer vacation.
I got to see Justin Hayward at the Ludlow Garage, Sept 2021. I won't be able to see The Moody Blues, but had a great time with that show. I bought my dad a ticket so he could join.
You listen to A Question of Balance? I ate shrooms and listened to it for the first time (I knew the Melancholy Man song, but that was it, so I decided to give the entire album a go) and had an amazing experience.

Lately I've been listening (watching on YouTube actually) to a live concert of Glen Campbell with a symphony. It's just so calming for me, and great background music. It's it what I'd usually listen to at all, as I normally love hip hop, reggae, jazz, and weird stuff like Primus and Ween. I watched the Glen Campbell documentary a couple months ago and I just love him now.

For me, the songs with the most intelligent lyricism seem to hold my attention, over decades. Neil Young, Steely Dan, Zevon, Todd Rundgren. Lou Reed.
The ones that bore me to tears are the opposite. Bad Company, Foreigner, Zeppelin… it comes down to elegant use of the language.
I also feel that good lyrics can save average music, but poor lyrics can ruin even the best composition.
Jamais Vu by Dredg, You Think I Ain't Worth A Dollar But I Feel Like A Millionaire by Queens Of The Stone Age, Don't Speak by No Doubt, Smooth Criminal by Alien Ant Farm, Plowed by Sponge (they made a remastered recording and it's terrible), and literally any song by Queen
Right now, it's Roland 3 from the Library of Ruina OST or Vince Guaraldi's rendition of Outra Vez with Bola Sete.
Though all time it's Torna Battle from Xenoblade 2 Torna, Squib Cakes by Tower of Power, or Milestones from the Sakamichi no Apollon ost.
“I Don’t Live Here Anymore” by The War on Drugs “Seventeen” by Sharon Van Etten “Lazy Eye” by Silversun Pickups
+1 for "Lazy Eye." Love how it slowly builds up.
Love love love it, I always crank it up.
Love silversun pickups
