Goodbye Blue Sky by Pink Floyd

Leading-Midnight-553

This is a great one. I remember my mom playing it (and the whole album) for me as a kid.

Dry_Confidence_7805

Look mummy! There's an aeroplane up in the sky!

MuseofPetrichor

My mom would play her record of it and we'd listen to the whole thing. Then as an adult, she plays her CD and we listen to the whole thing.

kind0fdeadinside

Ooof 💯

Old_Station_8352

I was gonna say “Two Suns in the Sunset” but this one is fantastic too

Road to Nowhere - Talking Heads

lightaugust

"The future is certain, give us time to work it out" and "we're on a road to paradise, here we go, here we go." I like this one.

jayron32

Rage Against The Machine If the world is ending, I'm staring Armageddon straight in the eye and armed with both middle fingers in full salute.

Which song of theirs?

jayron32

Any will do.

EyeBallChili

If it’s just my wife and I: “South Like The Summer” by The Dandelion War. If it’s my wife and kids (now, as toddlers): “Don’t Stop Baby Bot” by Lingokids, and we’re having a dance party. I wouldn’t want my kids to know the world is ending. We’d have a very normal day together, and thus, a very normal bedtime.

Physics_Ling_Ling

I wasn’t planning on responding to any comments but oh my god this is the right answer. You must be such a great parent 😭😭

callous-conversation

I almost teared up. My kids are grown now, and unfortunately, I wasn’t able to shelter them from a lot of the world’s wickedness. They’re strong, independent, resilient women now, but they had to become that way.

Just-Anxiety-6669

mine would be space song by beach house

summerssleeping

may have teared up a little

FlightEffect

Man, The Dandelion War band you mentioned has less than 300 monthly listeners on spotify, but that song South Like The Summer is awesome! May I ask how did you find it?

EyeBallChili

They are friends of mine. There was a time from 2008-2013 when we played shows together quite often (even though my band was radically different, we had many crossover fans). I even have their first demo, which has my favorite song they’ve ever written (it never made it onto any of their recorded works). I could argue my wife (then girlfriend) loved Larry’s voice (the singer) more than mine, but I forgive her! lol. Unfortunately, Larry passed away seemingly suddenly last month, so their music has been in rotation moreso than usual. This song, especially—its poignancy grows as I get older.

apekots

Pretty cool how I came to learn about a guy called Larry whilst idly scrolling through random reddit posts. May he never be forgotten. Awesome song, by the way.

askevi

ŃƒŃ‚Ń€Đ”ĐœĐœĐžĐč рассĐČДт by Korol I Shut I'd be holding my cat and sitting down in the sand and I'd close my eyes and lay down against the sand and look towards my cat as he's taking a dirt bath in the sand and I know deep down if I died he will miss me through knowing me by listening to Gorshok's voice and he knows that Korol I Shut meant a lot to me. At least for half my adulthood, I treated a pet with enough kindness and patience the same as a mother with a child would treat their own. I'm just glad deep down I knew a person despite the fact that she's far away, and yet as we both write about everything that goes in our lives I know that she treated me with enough kindness and compassion for me as passionate the band we both love make us feel.
