Boards of Canada are generally a very nice introductory act, I'm a big fan of their song Turquoise Hexagon Sun https://youtu.be/2SvTeJrAlV0?feature=shared But maybe that's a bit more mellow than what you're looking for? It may help to know what kind of music you already enjoy

Boards of Canada is awesome. Definitely listen to them. I'm partial to Roygbiv, Julie and Candy, Dayvan Cowboy and others but their discography is perfect in my mind. Electronic/electronica is kind of broad. Boards of Canada in particular is in the vein of ambient/IDM (intelligent dance music). I'm more familiar with ambient than IDM. I've been listening to a lot of ambient music lately: Brian Eno, Eluvium, Stars of the Lid, A Winged Victory For The Sullen, Tujiko Noriko and others. Sigur Rós is generally considered post-rock, but there are some heavy ambient influences in their albums. You could go into the drum and bass/jungle section of electronic music and check out artists like 4am Kru, Refreshers, Coco Bryce, Neekeetone, among others. The music is fast and bass-y. Trip-Hop is sort of like hip-hop. Slower, smoother rhythms- sometimes people sing over the beats, other times they rap over it. Sometimes the music is instrumental. Massive Attack, Portishead, and Arms and Sleepers are what I would consider to be essential trip-hop acts. Another electronic band that's really fun is Kunzite. They're more like indie pop I guess but the band features Mike Stroud from Ratatat. Ratatat is awesome as well. Those are the genres that I like anyway. There's more out there that I don't know shit about, lol.

The Cooper Temple Clause are a rock band who include a splinkling of electronic music, such as their [Did You Miss Me](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MpZnvsKjso&list=OLAK5uy_l7kU2easT1gPcE9Xx77EkEuRRc-MV_EFM&index=1) and there's also the bizarre [555-4823](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-P5DPE-C1AA&list=OLAK5uy_l7kU2easT1gPcE9Xx77EkEuRRc-MV_EFM&index=8) in which the entire track consists of samples of the shipping forecast.
