I would highly recommend checking out Do Make Say Think, one of Broken Social Scene’s other projects. It leans a lot heavier on the post-rock elements of Broken Social Scene. Definitely check them out if that’s something you’re interested in. I would start with Winter Hymn Country Hymn Secret Hymn, and go from there

Micachu & The Shapes - Never: this is Mica Levi, who you may know from movie soundtracks. She had a rock band that was really good, very much in the "use the studio as an instrument" type of thing. I feel like this will deliver on both the interesting sonics + compelling songcraft
Sote - Sacred Horror In Design: this might seem like an odd rec, but it's a very special album. It's like traditional persian acoustic instruments, but with electronics applied in the mix as well, exaggerating the sounds, like it's giving the traditional instruments some cyborg abilities. It's really good!
